James Argent's ex breaks silence as she says 'I've been quiet long enough'
Writing a lengthy post on social media, she shared: "It's now been a month. I still can't believe it. My fractures on my body have finally healed but I'm wounded inside. I've been quiet long enough. Silence protects no one - and it almost destroyed me.
What started as a love story sadly turned into something else. Behind the pictures, promises and the plans for a life together - the beautiful days - changed into something into sadness with emotional manipulation and eventually physical harm."
Nicoline did not name anyone but she said Arg had "unresolved ties to his past" relating to an ex.
She added: "I loved deeply, believed in our future and stood by someone I thought would protect me and instead I was left alone and harmed in ways I never imagined. I was not only failed by him but deeply affected by the presence of unresolved ties to his past.
"Yes I posted an Instagram story with a simple yes or no question about if your ex should be a part of your present relationship. I felt there were too many people in our relationship: me, my boyfriend and his ex. 'Three's a crowd', they say. I asked so many times if we could be just the two of us, but the answer was a strong NO.
"I experienced what I can only describe as targeted emotional distress which he allowed to continue. The ex and her family put us through so much misery and false accusations, I won't go into details.
"They had no reason whatsoever to do what they did to us, but for some reason they wouldn't let go and let us enjoy our love. Everybody knows that real friends support you and want to see you happy. So I posted a story on Instagram."
She later added that Arg had told her he would "put a stop" to what had been going on for months. She added in the lengthy statement: "After being together for one year my boyfriend finally promised me that he would have boundaries. He would put a stop to all that had been going on for months. But he didn't.
"Instead he broke the promise and her controlling behaviour continued. The rest is history. I was brutally thrown out of our new home in the middle of the night wearing only my pyjamas. I opened the door to let him in and only minutes after I found myself laying down on the stairs outside our house. My clothes and belongings were being thrown out from the balcony down on me. I was injured."
Nicole then went on to thank her neighbours for their help. She said: "Thanks to incredible neighbours who heard and saw what happened and acted, I got help. They called police, brought me to safety and ensured the incident was taken seriously."
She concluded her post with: "A gentleman does not abuse you and end up in jail and call you the love of his life. A gentleman does not blame you for his actions. A gentleman will confide in his partner, family and close circle of friends, keeping them close and safe. A gentleman chooses you always and leaves the past in the past - including exes.
"Life is to be lived together and not to please people who want to take advantage of you. At the end of the day, fame can only do so much - it's all about being strong and growing together. Life is simply not a reality TV show, life is real. I have tried to understand why. I have cried so many tears thinking about the way he chose to hurt me. He said he loved me and I believed him and here we are."
She added: "There is now a legal record of what happened. Violence has no excuse - no matter how much love preceded it. To those who questioned me for staying as long as I did: I stayed because I believed in love. I believed he and we could grow, could heal, could choose peace. But love doesn't survive in chaos. And it cannot survive where violence lives.
"To every woman reading this: if you've ever questioned your worth, your safety or your sanity in a relationship - this is your sign. You deserved to be loved with care and integrity. And you are not alone. To the men: real strength is protection. Real love is safe. Be the kind of man who lifts women up - not one who breaks them down, neither by violence or silence.
"To the future: never say never. I will get the little family I've always dreamed of and have my dream wedding to symbolise and celebrate true love in front of my dear family and friends."
She wrote: "I'm healing now. Slowly, bravely and unapologetically. I will rise and I will use my voice - not for vengeance but for truth. For every woman who's been silenced by someone who said 'I love you' and then proved otherwise. This is not just my story. It's a reminder: abuse - whether emotional, psychological or physical - has no place in love."

Feeling tired, she decided to take a light jog around the room to wake herself up. Explaining her reasoning whilst running: "I'm just gonna do a light jog. Just a light one, nothing too strenuous. "If I sit down, my eyes are just closing. I'm shutting down. AI shut down." She added: "The robot is shutting down." The girls were all laughing at the strange scene as Megan sarcastically remarked: "She needs oil or something." As she carried on with her exercises, Yas continued: "I hope I don't get dizzy. "System update guys. YasGPT's got a system update. I'm gonna turn around now." Before getting up and leaving the room with Angel, Megan added: "The fact you're still going, I need a wee." Yas then added: "I'm just gonna keep doing it till I get bored." Viewers confused as Love Island star makes reference to fan nickname for her and ask 'how does she know?' On Instagram, one confused fan remarked: "Would love to know how she knows about AI and yas GPT. "Wait she referred to herself as YasGPT?! 4th wall broken again." This comes as fans of Love Island have also accused Dejon Noel-Williams of breaking the fourth wall. Taking to fan forum social media platform Reddit, one fan wrote: "Recently the producers have been airing a lot of clips with references to the cameras, prize money etc. This is unusual. "It's made me wonder, especially as Dejon seems to be using these references in the hope that his arguments won't be aired, how much has been cut previously? "What have we missed in the goal of suspending our disbelief and why have the producers decided to switch up?" They added: "I know they've cut out bombshells talking about the outside in previous seasons, but is there more we're missing this season?" Replying back, another loyal viewer added: "I wonder if producers have realized what dejons plan is (talking abt the cameras in hopes that the convo doesnt get aired) and have decided to show us the truth. System update guys. YasGPT's got a system update. Yasmin Pettet "OR if he talks about the cameras so much that they have no choice but to air it." The show has come under fire before for this technique as Islanders have actively referenced the prize money on screen. In previous scenes, Shakira Khan clashed with partner Conor Phillips over a comment made by co-star Harrison Solomon. Shakira told her former partner that her words had been "twisted" as she accused the guys of being 'game players' who want the monetary prize. She then shot back: "Of course they have things to gain from it. The biggest f*****g game players about. £25 f*****g k." At the time, one fan wrote "Shakira breaking the fourth wall by mentioning the prize money." As a second user stated: "This is the first time in Love Island history. I think I've actually seen the contestants talk about wanting to win the money and actually naming the prize." 6 Fans have noticed that contestants like Dejon have actively referenced the format of the show on-screen Credit: Shutterstock Editorial 6 Angel Swift accompanied the girls during the encounter Credit: Instagram / ITV2 6 Yas wanted to wake herself up by jogging as she felt tired Credit: Instagram / ITV2 Love Island continues on ITV2 and is available on ITVX.

Wave-riding canines take on surf to be named top dog
They competed against similar-sized dogs for a chance to appear in the finals, while additional heats featured multiple dogs – wearing life vests and often goggles – surfing tandem or riding with people. Once out on the waves, their owners helped them hop on their colourful surf boards as the crowd cheered from the beach. Judges assessed how long the dogs remained on their boards, how long they held their balance, and whether they performed any tricks, like turning around while riding. Coconut catches a wave during the contest at Pacifica State Beach (Eakin Howard/AP) Iza, a five-year-old French bulldog, won the single surfer heat for medium-size dogs for the first time, her owner David Fasoli said. He said he found 'pure joy' during the pandemic when he brought home a surfboard from his job at Costco and taught Iza to balance in the swimming pool. The two soon started swimming in the sea and learning to ride waves as passers-by watched in awe. Now, their competitions are all about defying expectations. 'I have a disability – I only have one hand – so a non-sporting human combined with a non-sporting dog breed, we are kind of phenomenal, defying the odds of what people think we're capable of doing,' Mr Fasoli said after the competition. Carson jumps off his board and into the surf (Eakin Howard/AP) Ten-year-old yellow lab Charlie likes surfing so much he will grab his surfboard and run towards the water – his owners sometimes have to hide it to ensure some peace. Charlie, who has his own Instagram page, entered the extra-large single surfer heat. He also rode tandem with two other dogs in what their humans called 'The Dream Team'. Owner Maria Nieboer said: 'He loves the crowd.' Charlie and Ms Nieboer's husband Jeff prepare for waves together. When Mr Nieboer spots a good one, he turns the board around and tells Charlie to 'get ready'. He pushes the board forward, and Charlie scrunches down and rides the wave as long as he can. Charlie can even steer the board by leaning, and surfs towards an awaiting Ms Nieboer on the shore. Faith the surfing Pitbull gets pushed through the breakers by owner James Wall (Eakin Howard/AP) He does not have to be rewarded with treats for any of it, Mr Nieboer said, adding: 'Charlie does what Charlie wants to do once we're in the water.' Charlie's 'Dream Team' compatriot, fellow yellow lab Rosie, was in four heats. The four-year-old's owner, Steve Drottar, said she is 'stoked' after they go surfing, which they do four to five times a week back home in Santa Cruz. 'It's like, hey, we actually did something today, right? We did something together as a team,' Mr Drottar said. 'The fact that you can do something as a team with your dog creates a different bond than you have when you just take your dog for a walk.' He can tell Rosie feels a sense of accomplishment afterwards because she is extra happy, wags her tail extra hard and snuggles even more than usual, he said. 'It's like we go home on the couch and it feels like she's saying 'Thank-you'.'

BBC Breakfast's Nina Warhurst returns to show after family death as fans rush to support
BBC Breakfast star Nina Warhurst has made her return to the show after a heartbreaking family death BBC Breakfast presenter Nina Warhurst has returned to the programme after her father's passing. The popular morning show was back on air on Sunday (August 3) with Ben Thompson and Nina presenting together once again. It's been a tough period for Nina, who recently revealed that her father had passed away peacefully in a care home on July 2 after a prolonged struggle with dementia. Sharing a touching black-and-white image of her hand clasped with her father's, she penned: "My Dad died on Wednesday night. From Sunday me, my Mum and sisters spent precious time with him around the crying, laughing, sharing memories. On his last day we had nursing home afternoon tea, chippy chips and wine together. "He drifted away gently with me and Amy (Nina's sister) holding him and telling him to 'go head. We'll see you there soon.' And he did. I had my hand on his heart as the ripples softened and stopped.", reports the Express. "A gentle end to a gentle life. So much love and laughter and sunshine across days I'll never forget. He is in my mind all the time now as we adjust to a world without him in it. "I can't quite accept that's real yet. But we think it's really important for anyone going through this to know that the end can be peaceful and beautiful." Supporters immediately flooded Nina with messages of comfort at the time. One viewer commented: "Oh my darling, this is such sad news. He seemed like a beautiful soul." Another said: "So sorry, dear Nina and family. You did him proud. Always." However, a few weeks later and on Sunday, Nina was back on the famous red sofa on BBC Breakfast - and fans were more than chuffed to see her back. On X, one person penned: "Lovely to see Nina this morning." Nina's father Chris, had been diagnosed with mixed dementia, which is Alzheimer's and vascular dementia, in April this year, she spoke candidly about how his condition had affected her life. The mum-of-three penned in an Instagram post: "I don't think I really became a proper grownup until we had to look after my Dad. Because of dementia I lost the home I could go to and still be a child. I lost one of those few pillars of people who I knew would love me, whatever. I thought that support was lost. But now I know that just being with him is enough. I don't know if it's primal, hormonal, chemical, emotional….. but leaning my head on his chest and closing my eyes for a few minutes gives me the sense of safety and love that I've always had and that I still need." BBC Breakfast airs everyday from 6am on BBC One.
