‘Dazed & Confused' star Nicky Katt died by suicide, family confirms
It was reported earlier this week that Katt had died, but the cause of death is now known to be suicide, according to a report from Deadline.
Katt was perhaps best known for his role in the cult-favorite 'Dazed and Confused' as bully Clint Bruno, as well as lead and supporting roles in film, television, and video games including 'Insomnia', 'World Trade Center', 'The Dark Knight', 'Boston Public' and 'Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords'.
In a statement given to , Katt's sister confirmed the actor had been struggling a quiet battle against depression and urges others to help break the silence and stigma associated with mental health problems.

'Personal Statement on the Loss of My Brother
I am deeply saddened that the details of my brother's passing were made public without my consent at a time when our family was still trying to process the shock and grief of his loss.
Today, with the heaviest of hearts, I share the devastating news of my brother's passing. He died by suicide after battling with depression-one that he fought bravely but quietly.
This is a pain no family should endure, yet far too many do. Mental illness is real, it is powerful, and it is often invisible. We hope that by sharing this, we can help break the silence and stigma that so often surrounds mental health struggles.
In this moment of grief, we kindly ask for compassion-not only for our family as we mourn this unimaginable loss-but for every person who is silently struggling. We also ask for privacy to navigate this tragedy and begin the process of healing.

Nearly a year after it was reported that Conclave director Edward Berger was in talks to helm , Berger has now confirmed that he had already turned down the star-studded project. This comes after it was recently revealed that the acclaimed filmmaker was one of Amazon MGM Studios' frontrunners to direct the next James Bond movie before Dune filmmaker Denis Villeneuve landed the project. Why Conclave director Edward Berger turned down Ocean's 14? During a recent interview with Deadline, Berger explained the reason why he decided to turn down the opportunity to direct Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Matt Damon in Ocean's 14. The All Quiet on the Western Front director admitted that he was initially tempted to accept the high-profile project due to the perks that come with directing a star-studded movie for a big studio. 'We were talking at that time, Brad and I, and yes, was I seduced by the thought of making something like that. I'm from a small place in Germany. I've never had those opportunities,' Berger shared. 'And suddenly Brad Pitt and George Clooney and Julia Roberts and Matt Damon, I would be able to make a movie with them. Ballad of A Small Player was a hard movie to make, and I felt like, wouldn't it be great to make a studio picture? The studio needs that movie, the stars want the movie, as does the audience. Everyone needs the movie. It's a franchise. I can pay my crew. I can have fun with them. It's a temptation.' However, Berger realized that it would've been difficult to make Ocean's 14 as his own, because he doesn't know if he can add something new to the incredible franchise that Steven Soderbergh had built. He also revealed that he called Pitt to inform the Oscar-winning actor that he wasn't the right guy to helm the movie. 'Deep down inside, I knew it's not my movie, it's Steven Soderbergh's movie. He invented that, beautifully. He made them, and I'm just following in his footsteps. What is new for me?' He continued, 'I love those movies, but in essence, I don't know what to add to what the great Steven Soderbergh did.' He added, 'And so in the end, I had to sleep eight hours. And I think maybe when I met you, I'd slept a week. But during the shooting of Ballad, it was tempting because I was so tired. And then I wrapped, I went to bed, slept eight hours, and realized, it's not me. I called Brad because we had talked a bunch of times. I knew he was open to doing something, and I basically said, I'm sorry, I don't want to do Ocean's and hope I haven't offended you.' In the early 2000s, Steven Soderbergh directed the remake of Ocean's Eleven, which also featured a star-studded ensemble led by George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon. Former ‘Home Improvement' star Patricia Richardson looks unrecognizable ahead of reunion with castmates
A former sitcom star might have fans doing a double-take when she reunites with her ex-castmates on the small screen this fall. 'Home Improvement' actress Patricia Richardson looks nearly unrecognizable since she portrayed Jill Taylor on the popular ABC sitcom starring Tim Allen throughout most of the '90s. The 74-year-old no longer has a chestnut brown bob, like the one she flaunted during the seven-time Emmy Award-winning show that followed the work and family life of Tim 'The Tool Man' Taylor. Richardson now rocks a head of shock white hair, which she started growing out during the COVID-19 pandemic. 'Ok here we have covid hair grow out,' she captioned in an Instagram post showing the stark difference between her dyed hair and white roots in Oct. 2020. 'Just don't want to cut it! So…. new covid fashion raccoon hair?' Fans flooded her comment section, cheering on her 'beautiful' and natural style which she seemingly kept over recent years. The reunion comes over 25 years after 'Home Improvement' ended in 1999. Richard Karn, known for playing Al Borland in 'Home Improvement,' and Debbe Dunning, who portrayed 'Tool Time Girl' Heidi Keppert in the '90s show, will appear alongside Richardson in Allen's show about a widowed owner of a car restoration shop, the outlet reported. It's not been revealed which fictional roles the trio of guest stars will play in the upcoming premiere but the cast is supposed to help Allen's fictional character, Matt Parker, in an 'unexpected way,' per Deadline. The Season 2 premiere of 'Shifting Gears' won't be the first time Richardson has reunited with Allen, 72, on television. The four-time Emmy Award-nominee appeared as Helen Potts, an inconsiderate neighbor, in two episodes of his 'Last Man Standing' series in 2015 and 2016. Richardson has maintained her career since 'Home Improvement' ended.
