Cancer Daily Horoscope Today, July 08, 2025: Say yes to the you who feels free
Say yes to what brings you joy, not just duty. A small choice today, made from freedom, can shift your path beautifully. You are not meant to stay in old patterns. If something feels limiting, it's time to step out. The real you is waiting. Choose that version with courage.
Cancer
Love
Horoscope Today
In love, follow the connection that makes you feel alive, not the one that drains your spirit. If in a relationship, ask yourself—do I feel free to be myself? If yes, nurture it.
If no, speak kindly about your feelings. If single, say yes to the kind of love that lets you breathe, not perform. You don't have to change your heart for someone. Real love welcomes your truth. Freedom in love begins when you stop hiding your real self.
Cancer Career Horoscope Today
In career, choose tasks and directions that match your spirit. If something feels dull or repetitive, see if you can change the approach. You do not need to stay stuck in systems that kill your creativity.
Today, someone may give you a small chance to express your real talent. Take it. Say yes to growth, even if it looks unfamiliar. You have more skills than you use daily. Let freedom enter your work life. That is where passion and progress meet.
Cancer Money Horoscope Today
Financially, freedom means planning smartly, not avoiding responsibility. Spend where your heart truly finds value, not where society tells you. If you are tied to loans or past mistakes, start clearing them gently, one step at a time.
Say yes to financial freedom by setting boundaries around spending. Avoid offers that promise quick profit. Let your money reflect your real choices, not impulse or fear. A small shift today, like saving a little more or cancelling an unnecessary purchase, will bring more peace.
Cancer Health Horoscope Today
Health depends today on how free your mind feels. If you are carrying emotional pressure, it may show in body stiffness or breathing discomfort. Move your body in ways that feel light. A short walk, slow dance or easy yoga will help. Eat meals that feel fresh and easy. Avoid cold drinks or food that feels heavy after eating. Let go of anything that feels forced.

Who is Varun Mohan, Windsurf CEO who triggered a talent war between Google and OpenAI?
The AI talent raid seems to be intensifying. Google has now onboarded several key members from Windsurf, a startup that works on AI code generation. Varun Mohan, co-founder and CEO of Windsurf, has been brought in along with co-founder Douglas Chen and other senior research and development staff from the company. Talking about the latest development, Jeff Wang, Windsurf's new interim CEO, said that most of the company's world-class team will continue to build the Windsurf product with the goal of maximising its impact in the enterprise. Windsurf, which is among the fastest-growing startups in software development workflows, was on its way to being acquired by AI powerhouse OpenAI, and was in advanced talks until last month. Interestingly, Google is not acquiring the startup but is paying a whopping $2.4 billion for a nonexclusive licence for certain Windsurf technologies, essentially allowing the company to continue to licence its tools to others. After the talent from Windsurf joined Google, a company spokesperson said in an email, 'We're excited to welcome some top AI coding talent from Windsurf's team to Google DeepMind to advance our work in agentic coding.' Meanwhile, Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis took to X to express his excitement and welcome the new members. Thrilled to welcome @windsurf_ai founders @_mohansolo & Douglas Chen and some of the brilliant Windsurf eng team to @GoogleDeepMind. Excited to be working with them to turbocharge our Gemini efforts on coding agents, tool use and much more. Great to have you on board! — Demis Hassabis (@demishassabis) July 11, 2025 According to earlier reports by CNBC, OpenAI and Windsurf were in talks for an acquisition deal worth $3 billion. However, with the latest agreement, Google has veered ahead, further aggravating the ongoing talent war among big tech that are currently vying for top talents and leaders in AI and innovation to further their AI strategies. Who is Varun Mohan? The former CEO of Windsurf, Mohan, is reportedly the child of immigrant parents from India who grew up in Sunnyvale, California. He attended the Harker School in San Jose, and as a student, he was known to demonstrate an aptitude for mathematics and computing Olympiads. Between 2014 and 2017, Mohan earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He later went on to obtain a master's degree in engineering from MIT in 2017 with a focus on OS, algorithms, distributed computing, ML, and performance engineering. In the formative years of his career, Mohan reportedly worked at top tech companies such as Nuro, Quora, LinkedIn, Databricks, Samsung, etc., accumulating a deep experience in software, systems, and engineering. Mohan has been widely recognised for his strong analytical skills and his ability to convert complex algorithms into production code. In 2021, he co-founded the company Codeium, later renamed as Windsurf, along with his MIT classmate and long-time friend Douglas Chen. The company, initially, pursued GPU virtualisation infrastructure but later moved to IDE Plugin and standalone AI-native IDE. Reportedly, under Mohan's leadership, Windsurf acquired over one million developers in just four months after its launch. The company raised $243 million, catapulting its net worth to $1.25 billion. Mohan is among the first to push the agentic IDE concept that brought together large language models with agentic workflows like Cascade. He strongly believes that AI will handle most routine coding, allowing engineers to focus on problem identification, system design, etc.

Google hires Windsurf CEO and researchers to advance AI ambitions
Alphabet's Google has hired several key staff members from AI code generation startup Windsurf , a Google spokesperson said on Friday, in a surprise move following an attempt by its rival OpenAI to acquire the startup. Windsurf CEO Varun Mohan, co-founder Douglas Chen, and select members of the coding tool's research and development team will join Google's DeepMind artificial intelligence division, the Google spokesperson said. The former Windsurf team will focus on agentic coding initiatives at Google DeepMind, primarily working on the Gemini project . ChatGPT maker OpenAI was in talks to buy Windsurf, one of the hottest startups disrupting software development, sources familiar with the matter told Reuters in June. OpenAI could not immediately be reached for a comment. "We're excited to welcome some top AI coding talent from Windsurf's team to Google DeepMind to advance our work in agentic coding," the Google spokesperson said. As part of the deal, the search engine giant is entering a non-exclusive license for certain Windsurf technology, according to a source familiar with the matter. Google will not take a stake in Windsurf, the person said. Windsurf investors will receive liquidity as part of the deal, sources told Reuters. Google's surprise swoop mirrors a deal in August 2024 to hire key employees from chatbot startup Big Tech peers, including Microsoft, Amazon and Meta, have similarly taken to these so-called acquihire deals, which some have criticized as an attempt to evade regulatory scrutiny. Microsoft struck a $650 million deal with Inflection AI in March 2024, to use the AI startup's models and hire its staff, while Amazon hired AI firm Adept's co-founders and some of its team last June. Meta took a 49% stake in Scale AI in June in the biggest test yet of this increasing form of business partnerships. Unlike acquisitions that would give the buyer a controlling stake, these deals do not require a review by U.S. antitrust regulators. However, they could probe the deal if they believe it was structured to avoid those requirements or harm competition. Many of the deals have since become the subject of regulatory probes. The development comes as tech giants, including Alphabet and Meta, aggressively chase high-profile acquisitions and offer multi-million-dollar pay packages to attract top talent in the race to lead the next wave of AI. Windsurf's head of business, Jeff Wang, has been appointed its interim CEO, and Graham Moreno, vice president of global sales, will be president, effective immediately. The majority of Windsurf's roughly 250 employees will remain with the company, which has announced plans to prioritize innovation for its enterprise clients.
