Edita Food Industries Hosts Minister of Labor Mohamed Gebran at E07 Facility in 6th of October City

Edita Food Industries, a leading player in Egypt's packaged snack food market, welcomed Minister of Labor H.E. Mohamed Gebran for an official visit to its E07 production facility in Polaris Industrial Park, 6th of October City.
The Minister was received by Eng. Ahmed Samy, CEO of Edita Food Industries – Snacking and Bakery Business Unit, and toured the facility's production lines, learning about the company's operational capabilities and workforce development initiatives.
During the visit, Gebran delivered a seminar to employees outlining key provisions of Egypt's new labor law, highlighting its benefits for both workers and employers. He encouraged staff to maintain excellence and pursue professional growth.
The visit also saw Gebran and Samy present graduation certificates to six employees who completed hands-on training across production, maintenance, warehousing, and administration. The graduates were selected from 150 Edita staff members who participated in the program.
Samy emphasized Edita's ongoing investment in employee training, workplace safety, and well-being, noting that in 2024 the company delivered over 32,000 training hours to more than 5,000 employees. Training programs cover communication skills, occupational safety, manufacturing quality, and key safety procedures such as energy isolation, manual handling, and machinery safety.
The company has also upgraded its facilities with advanced safety features and workflow digitalization, introducing handheld devices that have improved reporting accuracy and saved more than 500,000 paper sheets annually.
The E07 facility, operational since 2012, spans a built-up area of 30,500 sqm on a total land area of 50,000 sqm. It houses two production halls with 10 of the company's 37 production lines, producing croissants, cakes, wafers, and rusks. All seven of Edita's production sites are certified to international food safety and manufacturing standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, FSSC 22000, HACCP, and Halal certification.
