In Pictures: Lewis Capaldi returns to main stage at Glastonbury as he releases new single
The 28-year-old singer has appeared on the Pyramid Stage, for a surprise set this evening, two years after an emotional performance at Glastonbury when festival-goers lent their vocal support as he struggled to finish his set. He took a touring break in 2023 to deal with the impact of his Tourette's diagnosis and the symptoms that were exasperated the gruelling schedule associated with his meteoric rise to global fame.
Earlier today, Lewis Capaldi released new single 'Survive' - a bold new anthem that underscores a challenging period in his career that led to a tough unifying moment as the Pyramid Stage crowd helped carry an emotional Capaldi over the finish line. 'Most nights I fear that I'm not enough, I've had my share of Monday mornings when I can't get up' sings Capaldi in a brutally honest track that addresses mental health challenges of self-doubt and despair, but comes out swinging in a chorus full of defiance - 'I swear to God I'll survive, if it kills me to, I'm gonna' get up and try, if it's the last thing I'll do'.
'Survive' also sees Lewis re-united with close collaborator Romans, who co-wrote his global hit 'Someone You Loved', that extraordinarily turned 10x Platinum earlier this year. The new track arrives off the back of a run of Scottish warm up shows in May that saw Lewis return to the stage as a guest of mental health charity CALM, in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Week.
With no pressure, and no level of expectation, the shows allowed Capaldi the space to gauge his comfort and emotional response before returning to the spotlight - a move which ended up proving nothing short of a triumph.
Lewis' last release, the hit-stacked record Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, scored him his second UK number 1 album, creating another three heartbreaking UK number 1 singles, 'Pointless', 'Wish You The Best' and the Platinum-certified 'Forget Me', working with hitmakers including Max Martin (Taylor Swift, The Weeknd), Malay (Lorde, Frank Ocean), and longtime collaborator Phil Plested (James Bay, Bastille).
April 2023 saw the global Netflix release of Lewis' compelling, raw and honest feature-length, Grammy-nominated music documentary 'Lewis Capaldi: How I'm Feeling Now' , mostly filmed in Glasgow and West Lothian. Born in Dennistoun, Capaldi grew up in Whitburn from the age of four, he now lives in the West End of Glasgow and is renovating a farmhouse in East Kilbride.

After reaching the top, both TV stars waved for the cameras below. Snow spoke into the microphone of a camera drone above, with little-to-no fear in his voice. The Discovery Mast Climb is expected to draw attention from all over the world, and is the only experience of its kind in Scotland. The Cutty Sark in London and SS Great Britain in Bristol offer a similar challenge. Kelly, a patron of the Dundee Heritage Trust alongside Snow, added: 'The Discovery ship is beautiful, she's the symbol of Dundee. I'm obsessed with all things Antarctica, and she went to Antarctica. 'She's an old girl so she needs a lot of maintenance, and obviously that costs a lot of money. EastEnders star shares heartbreak after death of his beloved brother

Sean Maguire who first rose to fame in Grange Hill and went on to star as Aidan Brosnan in EastEnders in 1993 before launching a successful pop career, revealed he was going through a 'tough time' recently. The 49-year-old, who now lives in LA, shared his profound sorrow over the loss of his dear brother as he responded to a recent Instagram post from Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi. He shared how he had broken into tears when hearing one of Lewis' songs. Sean expressed: "Lewis been a fan for a while. Don't like talking about this s****. But having a tough time just now. Lost my brother six months ago. Holding it together. But dropped my kids off this morning and played 'someone you loved' and hit differently. Then burst into tears. "I didn't know I needed it. Maybe I did. Had to pull the car over and keep singing and crying. Thank you for the therapy. Really thank you. You helped me get back up. X". Sean's brother died back on January 11 and just a few days later he shared the sad news on his own social media on January 15. He shared a video with the caption: "I've struggled to find the words or even choose the pictures for this. Because it means that it's real but for those who don't already know our beloved brother Darren Maguire passed away on Saturday, 11th January. "He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He was a truly remarkable man, friend, son, brother, and was so loved by everyone that knew him. I'm still in so much shock. "I can barely form a sentence, but I know the world has lost one of its most beloved people and I have lost my best friend. We love you Darren and we'll never stop loving you. Now go make them laugh and dance heaven." During Sean's year on Albert Square he played troubled teen Aidan the soap as a 17-year-old in 1993, Sean's character was involved in tough storylines focused on homelessness and drug abuse which culminated in a near suicide attempt. While he was stopped from taking his own life by girlfriend Mandy, he blamed her for ruining his life and fled to Ireland. Sean became a pop star after leaving EastEnders, scoring eight top 30 hits including Good Day which peaked at number 12 in the UK. But while he has had a successful career both on and off the screen behind closed doors Sean is a proud dad of three with his former wife Tanya Flynn.
