Joe Jonas debuts his new album, 'Music for People Who Believe in Love.' It's his first solo release since 2011.
Joe Jonas fans have a reason to celebrate: His new album is officially here.
Released on May 23, Music for People Who Believe in Love comes nearly a year after Jonas first announced the album. Boasting singles 'Work It Out,' 'What This Could Be' and 'Heart by Heart,' the 14-track album also marks Jonas's first solo project since 2011's Fastlife.
With assists from Americana singer-songwriter Sierra Ferrell, folk-pop group Tiny Habits, jazz duo Domi and JD Beck, and Brazilian pop singer Luísa Sonza, Music for People Who Believe in Love captures Jonas at his most adventurous, musically speaking.
'Happy album release day to all who celebrate. Last night was so special and not a phone in sight,' Jonas joked on X alongside a photo of him on stage in the hours leading up to Friday's midnight release. The 35-year-old singer played tracks from the album for fans in Miami, and he'll do the same for fans in New York City on May 25 at the Bowery Ballroom.
Eager to show their support for the Jonas brother, fans were quick to share their initial reactions to the album, even declaring that it'll be 'a music for people who believe in love kind of summer.'
'The beauty and vulnerability Joe put into this album is so pure and real, not every artist has the ability to show these aspects of their personal lives but Joe does it so well,' a fan named Gabby shared in a TikTok video. 'I connect with each and every song, some way shape or form, on insanely deep levels.'
Some of Jonas's fans immediately flocked to Target to purchase the exclusive vinyl pressing of the album.
'First in Target for @joejonas Music For People Who Believe In Love!' Jonas fan Paige Nicole shared on TikTok. Lauren Flores, another fan on TikTok, revealed that she'll 'be listening to [the album] until further notice.'
Jonas's brothers also congratulated the 'Honey Blonde' singer.
'Congrats on this extraordinary release @joejonas. I love this album,' Nick wrote on his Instagram Story.
Kevin also posted about the album on his Instagram Story, writing, 'So incredibly proud of your hard work and dedication @joejonas.'
Younger brother Franklin Jonas, who is featured on 'Velvet Sunshine,' the eighth track on the album, captioned an Instagram post, 'So excited and grateful to be apart of @joejonas new album with the song Velvet Sunshine. So proud of him and this amazing project.'
Jonas performed 'Heart by Heart,' his latest single, during the Season 27 finale of The Voice on May 20 — the same day he stopped by The Kelly Clarkson Show to discuss the album. His first solo endeavor in over a decade, Jonas opened up about how Music for People Who Believe in Love is a chance to focus on himself — separate from Jonas Brothers, his pop trio with brothers Nick and Kevin, and DNCE, his dance-rock band.
'It's my time,' Jonas told the American Idol alum.
The Camp Rock star also previewed some of the new tracks at an intimate show in Los Angeles on May 19. Jonas enlisted help from familiar faces, including songwriting sister-duo Aly & AJ, who performed a heartfelt rendition of their hit song 'No One' with Jonas.
The singer debuted the music video for 'Heart by Heart' on May 15. The three-minute video sees the singer awkwardly run into an ex-girlfriend in New York City's West Village. The impromptu run-in puts Jonas in his feelings, as he's flooded with memories from their relationship.
Following the initial album announcement in July 2024, Jonas revealed that the LP features songs that 'reflect on my life from a bird's-eye view acknowledging the many blessings around me.'
'When we take a moment to breathe, pause, and reflect on our positives, my hope is that we can find acceptance and ultimately peace in the present moment,' Jonas said in a press release. 'It's okay to cry and mourn a loss — it's part of the process to take care of ourselves and eventually enables us to be there for the people we care about.'
Music for People Who Believe in Love, added Jonas, speaks to his 'experiences of being a father, being a friend to oneself and others, and the happiness I've found in doing what I love for a living.'
Jonas shares two daughters, Willa and Delphine, with his ex-wife, Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner. While Jonas previously told Billboard that the album isn't meant to 'put stuff on blast' or 'come for anyone,' he did admit that their very public divorce influenced his approach as a songwriter.
'I was going through a lot of life changes,' he added, 'finding out who I was as a person and father and friend, and living under the microscope of what the music industry can be. And I think, at such a crazy time in my life, I looked to music as an outlet.'
Next up for Jonas? This summer, he'll be releasing his seventh studio album with his brothers Nick and Kevin. Jonas Brothers' Greetings from Your Hometown is out Aug. 8.

It's official! MAFSAU's Billy and Awhina confirm relationship - all the clues you missed they were together
It's finally happened, after months of keeping us in suspense and claiming they were "just friends" Married at First Sight Australia's Billy Belcher and Awhina Rutene have officially confirmed their relationship. The pair who met on the recent season of the Nine series, took to Instagram and shared a joint post of them together. In the carousel of images Awhina is seen holding her phone and posing in front of a mirror while Billy stands with his back to the camera and has his arm wrapped around Awhina's waist. They then shared a number of date images and captioned the post: "I'll keep this one 🤭". Billy then commented underneath the origianl post, thanking followers for their support on the relationship, saying: "Me and @_awhinarutene can't thank you all enough love you guys 🙏🏼❤️." The couple met during filming for Married at First Sight Australia season 12 in which they were both married to different people. Awhina was paired with Adrian and Billy with Sierah, however both their marriages failed and since then the pair have been heavily rumoured to be dating. They've always denied there was something romantic between them, but if you look back over the last few months, there's been plenty to suggest they've been together this whole time. While Married at First Sight Australia was airing both here in the UK and in Australia, Billy and Awhina were papped hanging out together in the Perth, where they're both from. They also shared a TikTok together referencing the time their exes Sierah and Adrian went for dinner together, captioning it: "Our exes ate a plate of meat, but who really ate?" Though the show finished in Australia in April, at the end of May Billy shared a TikTok of the pair having a joint watch party to "Celebrating our s**t shows of a marriage". In the video they're seen fizzing up champagne bottles and releasing them over a pool and laughing together. Throughout her time on Married at First Sight Australia Awhina made it clear how important her son was to her. She didn't introduce Adrian to him at any point. However, Billy has met her son and at the end of May he shared a TikTok of himself with Awhina and her son doing a dance together and captioned it: "And then there was three 🔐." If that's not a soft launch we don't know what is. A few days later Awhina then shared a different video of her son talking animatedly to Billy at a restaurant. In the clip the pair are seen conversing happily and Awhina captioned the sweet video: "I almost forgot this was the whole point." The comment section was flooded with people sharing their happiness for Awhina and she took her time to respond to many people. During this one person had commented: "Whether friends or more, Billy will be such a positive role model. Knew him growing up as a kid here in the UK (my son is same age) & Billy's mum & stepdad are the best humans & Billy is the result of pure love & nurturing, they gave him safety & stability 🙏🏼💞."
