Raj Kundra becomes first contestant to b eliminated from The Traitors: ‘My wife is right, can't lie to save my life'

Hindustan Times2 days ago

The Traitors, the Indian adaptation of the global hit reality show, premiered on June 12 on Amazon Prime Video. Karan Johar served as the host. Now, Raj Kundra has become the first contestant to be eliminated from the show after Apoorva Mukhija exposed him as a traitor. (Also read: On The Traitors, Apoorva Mukhija skewers Uorfi Javed for saying they are not on same level)
In the second episode, Apoorva set out her points on why Raj is the traitor, which led to many votes for him as the traitor. Upon exiting, Raj said, 'I came to The Traitors to win hearts & friends. As I take an exit, I feel that my wife is right. She says that I cannot lie to save my life, and it's not who I am. I am glad that I stayed true to myself. I extend my best wishes to all the participants of The Traitors.'
The show features a group of contestants divided into the Traitors, who must work together to eliminate the other group of contestants called the Faithfuls. The Faithfuls are tasked with discovering who the Traitors are and voting them out before they're 'murdered' in the game.
Discussions of the second episode, particularly on how Apoorva played, surfaced on Reddit. Several fans praised Apoorva for speaking so sharply and playing the game so well. A fan commented, 'Apoorva has such clarity of thoughts and puts across her points so very well. It was sweet of Ashish and Maheep to acknowledge her observational skills. Good Apoorva.' Another said, 'She is sooo damn smart. She not only guessed the traitor but also convinced everyone else with her valid points. Was not a fan of her but she surprised me.' 'She is too good,' agreed a second fan.
With Raj eliminated, the rest of the contestants who remain on the show are Purav Jha, Karan Kundrra, Harsh Gujral, Ashish G Vidyarthi, Apoorva aka Rebel Kid, Uorfi Javed, Jasmine Bhasin, Lakshmi Manchu, Raftaar, Elnaaz Norouzi, Nikita Luther, Anshula Kapoor, Janvi Gaur, Maheep Kapoor, Jannat Zubair, Mukesh Chhabra, Sudhanshu Pandey, Sahil Salathia, and Sufi Motiwala. The new episodes will air on Prime Video every Thursday at 8 pm on Prime Video.

Raid 2 OTT Premiere: When And Where To Watch Ajay Devgn's Latest Film Online

Last Updated: Ajay Devgn's Raid 2 to stream on Netflix from June 27. Here's everything you need to know about the film's OTT release, cast, plot, and more. After its theatrical run earlier this year, Raid 2 is now set to make its way to the digital space. The sequel to the 2018 sleeper hit Raid will begin streaming on Netflix starting June 27, 2025, offering viewers a gripping dive back into the world of white-collar crime, corruption, and high-stakes justice. Headlined once again by Ajay Devgn as the stoic and relentless IRS officer Amay Patnaik, Raid 2 draws inspiration from the real-life 1980s income tax raid on businessman Sardar Inder Singh — one of the longest and most sensational raids in Indian history. While the film hit theatres on May 1, reactions from critics and audiences have been mixed, with praise for its performances and real-world relevance, and some critique around its pacing and narrative execution. Taking over the female lead duties from Ileana D'Cruz is Vaani Kapoor, who stars opposite Devgn in this installment. The film also features Riteish Deshmukh in a key role, adding further star power to the ensemble. Much like its predecessor, Raid 2 focuses on the cat-and-mouse game between the taxman and those trying to game the system — only this time, the stakes are higher and the opposition even more powerful. Devgn reprises his role as Amay Patnaik, an upright Indian Revenue Service officer who won't back down, no matter how influential his targets may be. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who also helmed the original, the film is written by Ritesh Shah, Jaideep Yadav, Karan Vyas, and Gupta himself. Backed by Panorama Studios and T-Series, the production boasts a strong lineup of producers including Abhishek Pathak, Pragya Singh, Krishan Kumar, Gaurav Nanda, Bhushan Kumar, and Kumar Mangat Pathak. For fans of investigative thrillers rooted in reality, Raid 2 promises an intense watch. And for those who missed it in theatres, the Netflix premiere on June 27 is a date to mark. Aamir Khan Supports 'Boycott Turkey' Calls For Backing Pakistan: 'Bahut Galat Kiya'

Last Updated: Aamir Khan addressed backlash over meetings with Turkish leaders, criticising Turkey for supporting Pakistan during Op Sindoor despite India's aid during the 2023 earthquake. Turkey and Azerbaijan strained ties with India and faced boycott calls for backing Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. This was around the same time that Bollywood actor Aamir Khan's photos from his past meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and First Lady Emine Erdogan emerged, leading to massive backlash. Aamir finally addressed the pictures and slammed Turkey for siding with Pakistan even after India was one of the first ones to help the country during the 2023 earthquake. Aamir Khan, who seldom makes a political comment, spoke about Turkey's alleged backing to Pakistan by supplying combat drones during Operation Sindoor. Speaking to Rajat Sharma on Aap Ki Adalat, the actor said, 'Turkey has done the wrong thing (Turkey ne bahut galat kiya), and every Indian is hurt. During the 2023 earthquake in Turkey, the Indian government was the first to send humanitarian aid. At that time, neither I nor our government knew what Turkey would do later." Khan clarified that his meetings with the Turkish leaders in 2017 and 2020 were held in good faith, at a time when there were no signs of the geopolitical shifts that would later unfold. 'When I met President Erdogan, I did not know that his country would support actions against India seven years later," he said. When asked about a viral photo of him meeting Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan, Aamir said, 'As a public figure representing India abroad, it is customary to accept diplomatic courtesies. When invited for tea, I couldn't refuse. But let me reiterate — what Turkey has done now is completely wrong, and it has deeply hurt us. I was angry too." Aamir Khan also spoke about India's rising boycott calls for Turkey. 'They are doing the right thing. We must not support a country that is siding with those who attack us. We extended friendship during their time of need, and in return, they supported Pakistan. Bahut hi galat baat hai," he said in the same interview. All you need to know about 'Boycott Turkey and Azerbaijan' movement While the rest of the world condemned the heinous terror attack in J&K's Pahalgam on April 22, 2024, Turkey not only sided with Pakistan, but Turkish Songar drones were also deployed by the Pakistan Army to target India's military bases and civilian infrastructure. This support from Turkey came after the global condemnation of the terror attack in J&K's Pahalgam, with Turkish Songar drones being used by the Pakistan Army against India's military and civilian targets. Shiv Sena UBT MP Priyanka Chaturvedi posted a video on X, urging citizens to boycott Turkey and Azerbaijan for their support of Pakistan after the Kashmir attack. She also advised against visiting these two countries, which heavily rely on tourism, and suggested travelling to nations that support India in its fight against terrorism. First Published:

Chitrangda Singh calls Housefull 5 'family entertainer', says people don't like a few jokes: Every film can't be Airlift

Actor Chitrangda Singh, who was recently seen in Housefull 5, has spoken about the jokes in the film and why "people might not enjoy as much". Speaking with Zoom, Chitrangda compared the humour to that of two of Adam Sandler's films--You Don't Mess with the Zohan and Pink Panther. (Also Read | Soundarya Sharma is surprised at claims of female objectification in Housefull 5: Kaun log iss tarah baat kar rahe hain) Calling it a "family entertainer", Chitrangda added that every film has its "own metre when it comes to humour". She said, 'I do think Housefull 5 is a family entertainer. Yes, there are jokes and humour that people might not enjoy as much, but I feel every film has its own tone and metre of what the dialogues are and what the tone of the film is. This is that kind of film. Then there's Hera Pheri, Golmaal and many more. Every film has its own metre when it comes to humour. If you go with your friends, you will have fun. Every family also has different dynamics. It is for you to go and find whether you like it or not. Everyone is entitled to have an opinion, I am not defending anything.' Talking about Adam Sandler films, she said that the jokes in Housefull 5 shouldn't be judged. She added, 'Adam Sandler's You Don't Mess with the Zohan and Pink Panther have a certain tone of humour. I don't think it should be judged in the same manner. Every film can't be an Airlift, and an Airlift can't be a Housefull 5. There are different kinds of entertainment. I am not defending, but this is how I feel." Recently, taking to Reddit, social media users talked about the film copying its scenes and jokes from diferent platforms, including the show Key & Peele. A person said, 'I was so angry when I realised they just copied Key and Peele for half of their scenes. Sad part is, those were the only scenes where people laughed.' A comment read, 'It's not the first time that Housefull series is copying from other language movies.' As per Hindustan Times review, the film has 'private-part jokes and innuendos' and 'often, the jokes are a joke'. Housefull 5 features Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Soundarya Sharma, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Johny Lever, Chunky Panday, Dino Morea, Fardeen Khan and Sanjay Dutt. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film is the fifth released in theatres on June 6. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala's production banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Housefull 5 is the fifth instalment in the Housefull franchise, which began in 2010.
