Dolly Parton has confirmed she will return to the Las Vegas stage.
The 79-year-old country music veteran has announcing a six-date residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace starting in December after more than three decades away from the Strip.
She told fans in a statement: 'To say I'm excited would be an understatement. I haven't worked Vegas in years and I've always loved singing there.'
The limited engagement, titled Dolly: Live in Las Vegas, was announced on Monday, 23 June.
Her shows will take place on 4, 6, 7, 10, 12 and 13 December, coinciding with the National Finals Rodeo in the city.
It marks the first time Dolly has staged an extended run in Las Vegas since 1993.
Her past performances include a string of shows at the Riviera Hotel in the early 1980s and four concerts at the Mirage Hotel in 1993 – both venues have since closed.
The residency was announced via a press release and on Dolly's Instagram, where she also wrote: 'Grab your rhinestones, Vegas is calling! (Star emoji.)'
Fans attending the shows can expect a 'hit-driven concert event' featuring a selection of the singer's most well-known songs, including 9 to 5, Jolene, I Will Always Love You, and Coat of Many Colors. Tickets will go on sale to the public at 10am Pacific Time on Wednesday, 25 June.
Two VIP experiences will be available for purchase.
The Dolly Forever VIP Package includes access to Dolly's Rhinestone Lounge pre-show reception, early access to merchandise, and a Live in Las Vegas gift set.
And the 'Star of the Show' VIP Experience offers all the same perks, in addition to a professional photo opportunity with Dolly and a behind-the-scenes onstage tour of the Colosseum.
Speaking to The Tennessean in 2022, Dolly reflected fondly on her earlier Las Vegas appearances.
She said: 'I had a great time staying in some of the world's best hotels, eating free food, and trying to not order so much room service as a way to pass the time between my shows.
'It's a magical city, and I love how much the city celebrates entertainment. It's hot out there, though, so besides the shows and the casinos, there's really not a whole lot to do.'
Dolly last appeared in Las Vegas as the host of the 2022 Academy of Country Music Awards.
The 10-time Grammy winner continues to perform and release music, after she was recently left bereft by the death of her reclusive husband Carl Dean.

Dolly Parton Shares Major Music Announcement Following the Loss of Husband Carl Dean

Dolly Parton is headed to Sin City this winter! On Monday, June 23, the country star, 79, announced that she would be doing a short six-show residency in Las Vegas in December during the National Finals Rodeo. The ten-time Grammy Award winner took to Instagram to share the exciting news with her seven million followers. 'Grab your rhinestones, Vegas is calling! ✨ I'm taking over The Colosseum at Caesars Palace with Dolly: Live in Las Vegas, a limited-run engagement from December 4-13,' Parton captioned the post. 'Tickets go on sale this Wednesday, June 25th at 10 am PT! Link in bio.' Fans took to the comment section to express their excitement for the chance to see Parton perform live onstage. 'It's a Christmas miracle! This is so exciting!' one fan gushed. 'This is ICON behavior! 🙌🙌🙌 we love to see it!' a second person commented. 'I'm freaking out! I hope I can snag some tickets before they sell out!! 💕,' a third fan wrote. Parton also released a statement about the upcoming residency on her website, writing, 'To say I'm excited would be an understatement. I haven't worked Vegas in years and I've always loved singing there. I'm looking so forward to the shows in The Colosseum at Caesars and I hope you are as well. See you there!' Parton previously performed in Vegas at the Riviera Hotel & Casino in the 1980s and the Mirage Hotel & Casino in the 1990s — both properties have since closed. Per her website, 'Dolly: Live In Las Vegas is a hit-driven concert event bringing Dolly back to Vegas for her first extended run in 32 years.' The statement further noted that fans can expect to hear many of her chart-topping tunes, including '9 to 5' and 'Jolene.' The exact concert dates are December 4, 6, 7, 10, 12, 13. Beyond tickets, fans will get the chance to purchase 'exclusive VIP packages.' Parton reflected on her time in Vegas in a March 2022 interview with The Tennessean. 'I had a great time staying in some of the world's best hotels, eating free food, and trying to not order so much room service as a way to pass the time between my shows,' she jokingly told the outlet. 'It's a magical city, and I love how much the city celebrates entertainment. It's hot out there, though, so besides the shows and the casinos, there's really not a whole lot to do.' Parton's residency announcement comes about three months after her beloved husband Carl Dean passed away. In May, she opened up about losing her longtime love — who she was with for six decades — in March at the age of 82. 'I've loved him since I was 18 years old, and it's a big adjustment just trying to change patterns and habits,' she shared during an appearance on Today. 'I'll do fine. I'm very involved in my work and that's been the best thing that could happen to me.' 'But I'll always miss him, of course,' she added, 'and I'll always love him.'
