BRS leaders to ring in TG Formation Day with gusto
Hyderabad: The BRS leaders will be grandly celebrating the Telangana State Formation Day in all the districts and also at party head office, Telangana Bhavan on Monday.
According to the BRS leaders, they will be hoisting the national flag and also the party flags in all the district centres across the State. The BRS working president KT Rama Rao is in Dallas to celebrate the Formation Day organised by the NRI unit of the USA.
Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council S Madhusudhana Chary will hoist the national flag on the occasion of Telangana State Formation Day on Monday at 10 am at Telangana Bhavan. Former minister T Harish Rao and others will grace the occasion. Harish Rao is slated to give a presentation on Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project at 2 pm at Telangana Bhavan.
The BRS working president KT Rama Rao had asked senior party leaders and all activists to participate and celebrate the formation celebrations grandly with the people.
He said that the State was achieved under the leadership of the leader of the movement KCR after 14 years of tireless struggle and this occasion should be celebrated grandly under the auspices of the party.
KTR recalled that the six-decade dream was realised only with the sacrifices of martyrs, the struggles of government employees, students and the collective efforts of all sections of society.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference, BRS MLC D Sravan Kumar said that the Seemandhra rulers exploited Telangana in the undivided Andhra Pradesh. 'Who is the reason for this exploitation? Telangana leaders bowed down for posts and exploited Telangana. KCR came to the Telangana movement in 2001 like a hawk who was shouting that positions were equal to grass. KCR fought for Telangana not in a street fight but in a straight fight,' he highlighted.
He said that KCR developed Telangana and made it agrarian by providing pensions, 24-hour electricity, 50 per cent reservation for women in local body elections, crop loans, 12,069 villages, 612 mandals, and 102 municipalities.

Hyderabad: Over the alleged failure to protect Telangana's water interests and favouring Andhra Pradesh, BRS senior leader T Harish Rao on Friday said that while Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was the brand ambassador of lies, Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy surpassed even the CM. Harish Rao accused them of failing to protect Telangana's water interests while favouring Andhra Pradesh while addressing a press conference at Dubbaka here on Friday. Harish Rao criticised Uttam Kumar Reddy for misleading the people on key irrigation projects. He alleged that the Congress government halted the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation works initiated by the previous BRS government, only to restart them later for political gains. Harish Rao mocked Uttam Kumar Reddy for meeting Andhra Pradesh's former CM Chandrababu Naidu and then remaining passive while Telangana's water rights were being compromised. He accused the Congress government of using the lowest-ever Krishna River water allocations in state history, depriving farmers in Khammam, Nalgonda, and Mahbubnagar of irrigation. Rao said that under temporary allocations, Telangana received 65 tmcft less water, leaving 6.5 lakh acres parched. Harish Rao demanded answers from Uttam Kumar Reddy, asking why he remained silent while Andhra Pradesh allegedly diverted 400 tmcft of Godavari water illegally. He slammed Uttam Kumar Reddy for failing to prepare for the Babli project despite being the Irrigation Minister. He questioned why the government had not approached the Supreme Court or pressured the Centre to stop Andhra's unauthorised projects. Rao criticised BJP leaders for not speaking up against Andhra Pradesh's alleged water theft. He warned that if the state government did not act, BRS would approach the Supreme Court. Harish Rao accused the Congress government of deceiving employees by forming multiple committees instead of fulfilling promises on Dearness Allowance (DA) and Pay Revision Commission (PRC) benefits. He demanded immediate release of pending DAs and better PRC benefits than those given under the previous BRS government. He dismissed CM Revanth Reddy's claims that Kaleshwaram was collapsing, arguing that projects like Gandhamalla, Mallannasagar, and Ranganayak Sagar depend on it. He challenged the CM to explain how water would reach Gandhamalla if Kaleshwaram was truly defunct.

Eatala blows the gaff on 3 barrages; pins blame on Harish Rao for fiasco
Hyderabad: BJP MP and former minister in BRS government Eatala Rajendar spilled the beans before Justice PC Ghose Commission inquiring into the Kaleshwaram project on Friday. The BJP MP told the commission that the three barrages – Medigadda, Annaram and Sundilla were constructed only after the approval of CWC and Technical Committee and as per the recommendations of Cabinet Sub Committee headed by the then Irrigation minister T Harish Rao. Former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was the brain behind the Kaleshwaram, the former minister said, adding that the Maharashtra government had opposed the Tummidihatti barrage, and hence the then government took up Medigadda. Before the start of open court, the Commission took oath from Rajender that he will tell only the truth. During the 40-minute quizzing, the commission posed a volley of questions to the MP. Rajender replied that the cabinet has taken a decision on Kaleshwaram only on the basis of sub-committee and technical team reports. The construction of the three barrages was started after the cabinet gave its nod. He informed that after Maharashtra objected, the then CM KCR formed a sub-committee. Harish Rao was the chairman of the sub-committee, and himself and Tummala Nageswara Rao were members. The redesign was done as per the decision of the expert committee, technical committee and sub-committee. The technical committee gave many reports. Finally, the cabinet took the decision to build the three barrages. Rajendar clarified that he was not aware of the payment of Rs 59 crore to an agency for the preparation of DPR. The cabinet gave all approvals on Kaleshwaram and Corporation was also floated to raise funds for project construction. The previous government planned to borrow funds from the corporation and repay the loans. But, the funds were not collected by the corporation. However, all the funds for the project were released from the corporation and the role of the Finance department was nothing in the entire episode. The former Finance minister also said that the irrigation department was given the powers to borrow and pay the funds.

Cabinet to meet twice a month to accelerate policy implementation
Hyderabad: In a bid to resolve pending administrative issues at higher level and accelerate the implementation of the welfare and development programmes in the state, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is said to have decided to hold one state Cabinet meeting every fortnight. Accordingly, there will be a second Cabinet meeting later this month. It is likely that Cabinet meetings are held on the first and third Saturday every month. During these meetings, the Cabinet will review every pending issue in every department and expedite policy making. Sources said that the next Cabinet meeting will also discuss the report submitted by the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) on the multi-purpose Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. It would also discuss recommendations made by the Vigilance Commission against the irrigation officials involved in the construction of the project. In the marathon meeting held on Friday, Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy made a power point presentation on the NDSA report and the status of three barrages – Medigadda, Annaram and Sundilla, which were damaged. Officials said that the Chief Minister will take a call on the NDSA and Vigilance Commission reports in the next Cabinet meeting. Sources said that the ministers brought to the notice of the Chief Minister the development works that were pending due to administrative hurdles. In a quick response, Revanth Reddy asked his Cabinet colleagues to come up with an action plan and detailed notes on such important issues in the next Cabinet meeting. The Chief Minister and ministers will also analyze the status of the progress of each scheme and development work in every Assembly constituency. They will rectify the pending issues, if any, immediately in consultation with the officials. If required, the Cabinet will also summon respective Secretaries to seek clarifications on the pending issues. Issues like farmers' welfare, clearance of pending bills of the government and retired employees, Indiramma houses, issuing of ration cards, job recruitments, irrigation projects and investigation in the phone tapping case, Formula E race case and Kaleshwaram scheme will be included in the agenda of every Cabinet meeting from this month. Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao has already been asked to prepare the list of the pending issues in every department and present the same in the next Cabinet meeting.
