Cavenagh - who bought a 51 per cent stake in the Glasgow giants along with 49ers Enterprises, the investment arm of NFL franchise San Francisco 49ers, last month – was asked to show minority shareholders 'respect' by former Labour MP Sir Brian Donohoe at an EGM in Glasgow city centre this morning.
The Philadelphia-based healthcare insurance billionaire stressed that George Taylor and John Halsted would represent their best interests on the board going forward and that regular meetings would be held with all shareholders regardless of the size of their stake.

'Just to clarify, when the company is private it wouldn't have an AGM in the same sense,' he said. 'Our commitment is to meet with shareholders once a year and communicate additionally as necessary.
'The exact form and timing of those meetings are something we'll take feedback from our shareholders on. The commitment is to once again year do that as a minimum. We'll figure out the right medium and the right content to go through.
'I'm not an accountant so I can't tell you the form of the financials. I do know that they will be made public because they have to be. We're required to submit our financials to the regulators every year, but the exact form I can't answer to.'
Meanwhile, Cavenagh stressed that Rangers would sell players going forward in order to try and achieve the new regime's goal of having a self-sustaining business model.
(Image: Ross MacDonald - SNS Group) 'We won't go into individual players, or even this summer's window with any specificity,' he said. 'But the world of football is one where you acquire players and they move on for bigger fees. That is part of the financial model for any club.
'At any club that is not one of the top five in the world, players are not permanent and players will at times move on and clubs will make a fee for them and it is good for the club and good for the players.
'Our ownership group has looked at this on a long term basis. One of the things we hope we bring is the financial power to create stability so we are not living hand to mouth and the club can operate from a platform of stability.
'We think it is achievable or we wouldn't be here. We don't think it will be easy. It is not going to happen instantaneously, but we will strive to improve the on-field performance and we will continue to build the infrastructure of the club. If we didn't think we could win we wouldn't be here. We are here because we think we can.'
Meanwhile, Cavenagh has admitted that increasing the capacity of Ibrox and acquiring more land around the stadium are possibilities in future.

'The expansion of Ibrox is something of interest to us, but not one of our short term goals,' he said. 'Right now, we're focused on improving on-pitch performance as well as the infrastructure of the club itself.
'Any increase in revenue we can get, we'll put it back on to the pitch. There are lots of different levers to pull on, certainly more than on the commercial side.
'It's not something we've got into at this point. As Paraag [vice-chairman Marathe] said, our focus is first and foremost on how do we move on pitch performance and start to build the infrastructure of the club and the team.
'But at the same time we're beginning to put together a multi-year plan for the physical plant, which would include Ibrox, the land around it and Auchenhowie. But it's early days on that.'

ES Tunis vs Chelsea prediction: Blues to seal place in Club World Cup round of 16

Chelsea vs ES Tunis betting tips Chelsea face Esperance Sportive de Tunis in their final group match of the Club World Cup on Tuesday night in Philadelphia (Wednesday, 3am BST), with the Blues needing a win to secure a place in the round of 16. A shock 3-1 loss to Flamengo last time out means that the Brazilian side top Group D with six points, with Chelsea currently on three. And with Tunis having beaten LAFC 1-0 in their last game, both of these sides sit on three points ahead of the final match in what will be a winner-takes-all contest in Philadelphia. The disappointing performance against Flamengo will have worried Maresca but he will know his team have more than enough to beat the Tunisian champions, and football betting sites have priced the Blues as 3/10 favourites to win, compared to 10/1 for the African side. Chelsea vs ES Tunis betting tip: Blues to advance to last 16 Many Chelsea fans will have come into this tournament fairly excited to see how their side performed against the world's best, though that excitement will have been dampened with a poor performance against a Flamengo side that were dominant for much of their 3-1 win. But while the Blues will have to be wary of a Tunis side who were able to beat LA, the gulf between these two sides is far more pronounced. Tunisian champions Tunis have won eight of their last 10 matches, scoring 21 and conceding four in the process, but though they lost 2-0 to Flamengo in their competition opener and will certainly not be used to the level offered by a £1bn Chelsea squad. And while Chelsea lost last week, that remains just their third defeat in the last 10, having scored 18 in that time. What's more, before the defeat to Flamengo the Blues had conceded just six goals in their previous 10 matches, with five clean sheets. The end of the season proved that when it all clicks, the Blues can compete with the best sides on the continent, so they should have more than enough on Thursday night. With that in mind, we're backing Chelsea to win with a clean sheet, with odds of around 4/5 with various betting sites. Chelsea vs ES Tunis prediction 1: Chelsea to win to nil - 4/5 William Hill Chelsea vs ES Tunis prediction: Delap to score first goals for new club? Summer signing Liam Delap hasn't got off to an electrifying start since his £30m move was confirmed last month, but the England youngster caused problems for opposition defences on numerous occasions in his first two games, including grabbing an assist on his debut against LAFC. The 22-year-old, who scored 12 goals for Ipswich as they were relegated at the end of last season, is yet to score for his new club but with Nicolas Jackson suspended and qualification riding on this game, there'll be plenty of expectation on his shoulders on Thursday. And we think Delap will rise to the occasion against a less stern defence, with a wager on the 22-year-old to get his score or assist offered at around 5/4 in the latest Club World Cup odds. Last reported incident was before the Covid-19 pandemic

The last reportable incident at Essity Oakenholt took place before the Covid-19 pandemic. The Essity Oakenholt paper mill, which produces high-quality paper for the global hygiene and health company's popular brands, including Cushelle, Tork and Plenty, has recorded more than 2,060 consecutive days without a serious accident. This equates to over five-and-a-half years or more than 49,000 hours and marks a significant milestone for one of North Wales' major manufacturing sites. At a time when safety performance remains a critical challenge across the manufacturing sector, the achievement is a clear demonstration of the importance placed on staff safety within the mill. Graham Nutter, safety specialist at Essity Oakenholt, said: "Achieving this major milestone reflects the innovative approach and commitment to health and safety of everyone at our Oakenholt site. To go this long without a reportable accident in a high-paced, complex environment like ours positions Essity as an exemplar for the industry. Nothing is more important than making it home safely at the end of every day." Opening with a young girl speaking Welsh and using British Sign Language, the safety video reinforces key safety procedures, such as removing jewellery, wearing PPE, and responding to alarms, for both employees and visitors of the site. It goes on to end with a simple but powerful message: these rules exist to keep mums, dads, and grandparents safe. It recently won the gold award for health and safety at the Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) Gold Awards and has been widely praised by staff for making the guidelines more memorable and meaningful, while boosting morale and reinforcing the site's close-knit culture. Essity's Oakenholt mill also won an internal health and safety award and the Team of the Year award in May 2025 in competition with all other Essity manufacturing sites throughout Europe. • The Oakenholt site has been recorded as a paper mill dating back to 1875. Rangers 'reluctantly' allow Jo Potter to leave with compensation due as Celtic boss Elina Sadiku lands a new role

Potter's exit with one year left on her deal will see her former club land a compensation fee Double-Cup winning boss Jo Potter has left Rangers with the Ibrox side "reluctantly" allowing her to depart two seasons at the helm. Potter's exit with one year left on her deal will see her former club land a compensation fee as many suitors are likely to cast an admiring glance at her work in Glasgow. ‌ The former England international landed a clean sweep of the domestic Cup competitions over the past two seasons, however, Potter and fans of the Rangers women side were left chastened by consecutive seasons where the SWPL title alluded them on the final day of the season to Celtic and Hibs respectively. ‌ Rangers fan outlet, Four Lads Had A Dream, posted: "Rangers are reluctantly allowing Jo to move on, club will receive compensation for her services as Jo still has one year left on her deal Best wishes to Jo, was absolutely brilliant to deal with and nothing but honest in her time as manager." Potter succeeded Malky Thomson at the helm in 2023 after arriving from Birmingham City and proved a popular presence among the Ibrox playing staff. Meanwhile, Celtic rival Elena Sadiku appears to be going nowhere after a disappointing season but she has landed a marquee role back in her homeland. Sadiku – who masterminded a SWPL title triumph in 2024 before a misfiring fourth-placed finish in the last campaign – will be front and centre of Swedish TV's coverage of the Women's Euros in Switzerland. The 31-year-old has earned praise for her tactical acumen and will be a regular on Sveriges Television before returning to Glasgow. ‌ Follow Record Sport on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for all of the up-to-the minute breaking news, video and audio on the SPFL, the Scotland national team and beyond.
