Katy Perry struck down with 'fever' in Australia amid reports she has split with fiancé Orlando Bloom after nine years

Sky News AU24-06-2025
Katy Perry has been struck down with a "fever" in Australia amid reports the pop star and Orlando Bloom have split after nine years together.
Perry, 40, first sparked concerns when she stopped to interact with fans at Kingscote Airport ahead of her run of concerts in Adelaide this week.
In footage obtained by 7NEWS Adelaide, the pop star could be seen stepping off her private jet before being met with a swarm of supports.
Perry appeared to maintain a safe distance from the fans where she could and then dropped a bombshell about her health to one.
A man asked the star if she was enjoying her stay in Australia as she signed autographs and posed for photos.
"Yes, but I got very sick last night. I'm trying not to get sick. I had a random fever," the Firework hitmaker said in response.
Perryrcut a casual figure as she exited her jet, sporting a tan coat, cap, and sunglasses, but appeared in high spirits nonetheless.
She will kick off her run of shows in the City of Churches on Thursday at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
The mother-of-one will then light up the stage for more revellers at shows on Friday, Sunday and Monday.
Perry surprised fans with her early arrival at the airport on Kangaroo Island, where she enjoyed a refreshing week-long break before the gigs.
Together with her daughter Daisy Dove, four, Perry was treated to breathtaking views at Southern Ocean Lodge, located above Hanson Bay.
Staying at the luxury, award-winning lodge can put a dent in the hip pocket, coming in at a whopping AUD $3,400 per night.
News of Perry's poor health follows fresh split rumours with Bloom after renting out the mansion she vowed to raise their daughter in.
Perry fought tooth and nail to secure the $30 million home in the celebrity enclave of Montecito, California and was involved in a legal battle over it.
She struck a deal with the seller, entrepreneur Carl Westcott, 85, who has Huntington's disease, for the purchase of the idyllic home in 2020.
However, Westcott attempted to back out days after their deal, claiming he was under the influence of painkillers when he agreed to the sale.
Perry's team sued to enforce the contract, and after a lengthy court row, a judge ruled in her favour, declaring her the legal owner of the property.
Despite the hard-fought win, Perry recently handed the keys to the mansion to actor Chris Pratt, according to DailyMail.com on Tuesday.
The publication reported the Guardians of the Galaxy star is only living there temporarily with his spouse Katherine Schwarzenegger and three children, Lyla, four, Eloise, three, and Ford, seven months old, while they build a new mansion in LA.
Sources close to Perry said she intends to return to the home to raise Daisy after Pratt's lease expires.
Nevertheless, the move raised further concerns about her relationship with Bloom after reports they fought over her Blue Origin Space flight.
Perry copped backlash after she said the mission in April was for "the benefit of Earth" and kissed the ground when she exited after landing.
However, research later revealed the Blue Origin rocket launch released greenhouse gases, which "altered the stratosphere".
At the same time, Bloom barely supported Perry over the controversy, which resulted in a massive row, according to DailyMail.com.
"He told her the whole thing looked ridiculous," a source with knowledge of the alleged argument told the publication.
Another source recently weighed in on the split rumours, telling People magazine that the Pop star and Bloom were "pretty much done".
To Di For podcast host Kinsey Schofield last week told Sky News host Rita Panahi there is "disintegration" between Bloom and Perry as she continues to grapple with the criticism surrounding her latest album, 143.
"Katy Perry's professional failures have really created some discomfort for her and some soul-searching," Ms Schofield said.
"She has just had a really hard time processing the album bombing, the criticism that's come her way."
Perry and Bloom first met at a Golden Globes after-party in 2016 and split for a year before becoming engaged on Valentine's Day 2019.
Their daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, was born on August 26, 2020.

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler 'doesn't want to tour' and 'can't tour', according to Joe Perry

Steven Tyler "doesn't want to tour and can't tour," according to bandmate Joe Perry. Only last month, the legendary rock band's guitarist suggested they could make their live return. He has now cast doubt on the band hitting the road, given Tyler's serious vocal injury that saw him fracture his larynx as well as having damaged vocal cords. However, Perry hasn't completely ruled out one final show and suggested it could be part of a documentary they are in talks for. He told WBUR: 'I would bet that there's an Aerosmith show left. 'There's been talk about doing a documentary; that might be part of it. I've been spending a lot of time with Steven and he just doesn't want to tour, and he can't tour.' He admitted: 'It's tough. I'm not sure I would want to go out and book another 40-city tour. It's a long way to the top and staying there takes it out of you, especially an Aerosmith tour." During an appearance on SiriusXM's Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk in July, Perry was asked if fans could ever see Aerosmith on stage again, to which the musician replied: "Well, yeah, I'm always hoping, but going on the road, it's a big deal pulling that together.' Perry, 74, also admitted that touring is now much more demanding for him and his Aerosmith bandmates because they are not young men anymore. He added: "There's so much planning, and what it takes out of you physically, it's a lot more than people realise." 'It's one thing when you're doing it when you're 25 or 30, but it's another when you're starting to get up there like us. It's a really physical thing, going out on stage.' Love in an Elevator songwriter Perry is sure that Tyler would be able to sing a full concert again if he could get the strength back in his voice. Asked if he could perform a full show, Perry said: "You know, I think he would. I think it's just a matter of getting there, you know? I mean, it's like, you know, I mean, we're up there, man. "I've got enough left in me. I still wanna do [a final Aerosmith show]... So, we'll see what happens.' Tyler, 77, made his first public performance since Aerosmith announced their retirement in January when he sang at a Janie's Fund charity event. Perry is touring across the US this summer with his group The Joe Perry Project. Aerosmith announced their retirement from touring in August 2024 due to Tyler's inability to sing live due to his injury. The band's statement read: "As you know, Steven's voice is an instrument like no other. "He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury. We've seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. "Sadly, it is clear that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heart-breaking and difficult, but necessary, decision – as a band of brothers – to retire from the touring stage."

'Strictly intended for adults': King Charles III launches teddy bear version of himself - and you'll never believe how much it costs

King Charles III is now selling a teddy bear version of himself - aimed at mature-aged buyers only. On Monday, the 76-year-old monarch launched the HM King Charles III limited-edition teddy bear through his Highgrove House and Gardens gift shop, with a staggering price tag of £269 (AUD $554.57). Crafted in England by Merrythought, the makers behind the iconic Paddington Bear, the regal keepsake is fashioned from "the finest silver-coloured mohair plush combined with soft cotton velvet for a luxurious feel", according to the Highgrove website. Its left paw is embroidered in gold with the King's official Royal Cypher, marking its "exclusive royal connection". The bear also features deep blue eyes, a hand-stitched smile and what the shop describes as "a wise and regal expression that reflects the character of the reigning monarch". Dressed in the authentic Royal Victorian Order Sash, complete with Italian gold tassels, the bear also "proudly displays" a detailed enamel and gold-plated replica of the Order of the Garter star, the UK's oldest and most prestigious order of chivalry, worn by Charles during major royal events, including his 2023 coronation. "This limited-edition collectible teddy bear honours King Charles III's roles as monarch and as a dedicated serviceman of the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy," Highgrove House said. Only 1,948 bears will be made, each with its own Certificate of Authenticity and presented in a luxury gift box. The site warns the teddy is "strictly intended for adult collectors and is not a toy". The new royal toy could even rival the King's own lifelong attachment to a childhood teddy bear, which Prince Harry famously revealed in his 2023 bombshell memoir Spare. "Teddy went everywhere with Pa," Harry recalled, describing it as a "pitiful object" with broken arms, dangling threads and patched holes. "Teddy expressed eloquently, better than Pa ever could, the essential loneliness of his childhood." Royal biographer Christopher Andersen also claimed in The King: The Life of Charles III that His Majesty still travels with his childhood bear, which is cared for by trusted valet Michael Fawcett and repaired by his former nanny, Mabel Anderson. "Every time that teddy needed to be repaired, you would think it was his own child having major surgery," Fawcett reportedly said. But His Majesty isn't the only royal with a soft spot for plush toys- his younger brother, Prince Andrew, is said to own a collection of 72 teddy bears. Former palace maid Charlotte Briggs told The Sun in 2022 she underwent "a day's training" to learn how to position them on his bed. "It was so odd. After all, he was a grown man who had served in the Falklands," she said of the now disgraced Prince. "But he absolutely loved the teddies and was very clear about how he wanted them arranged." Though Charles' plush counterpart has a hefty price tag, buyers can rest assured that their purchase will contribute to a worthy cause, as the sale of all Highgrove products supports the charitable work of The King's Foundation. Founded by His Majesty in 1990, when he was the Prince of Wales, the King's Foundation aims to help young people explore the world of work, inspire veterans into entrepreneurship, and work on environmental projects- a cause close to Charles' heart.

Inside Kelly Clarkson's ex husband Brandon Blackstock's heartbreaking final days at his Montana ranch before dying of cancer

Kelly Clarkson's ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, reportedly spent the last few months of his life at his $1.8 million ($2.7 million AUD) Montana ranch while silently battling cancer. 'Brandon lived a pretty quiet life in Montana. That was how he liked it,' an insider told Us Weekly Saturday. 'Even though he worked in entertainment in the past, that was not his personality. He was at home in Montana.' 'He had his ranch and rodeo, but he preferred to go under the radar,' the insider explained. 'Some of the people who worked with him at Starstruck [Entertainment] ended up moving to Montana to work on the rodeo with him.' Blackstock, who was 48 when he passed away, was already at his countryside home when his health 'took a very bad turn' earlier this year, per the source. The insider explained that the former talent manager 'was focusing on his treatment' and had 'spent a ton of time with his family in the last six months, more than ever before.' His ex-wife Kelly Clarkson reportedly joined their kids, River, 11, and Remington, 9, in visiting him and made quality time with him a priority. The source, however, noted that the 'Breakaway' songstress, 43, 'was not caring for Brandon.' According to the insider, Blackstock's eldest daughter, Savannah, 23, whom he shared with his first ex-wife, Melissa Ashworth, was 'with him almost all the time.' 'She has been having an incredibly difficult time. They were very close. Everyone is in shock,' the source said. 'Brandon was traveling and doing things,' the insider added. 'Even a few months back he looked okay. He looked thin but he looked like himself. No one can believe it.' Blackstock also shared his eldest son, Seth, with Ashworth, to whom he was married from 2001 to 2012. Reps for Blackstock weren't immediately available to Page Six for comment. The businessman died on Thursday after battling cancer for more than three years, Page Six learned. Clarkson, meanwhile, noticeably stepped in and out of the spotlight, including by being absent from her morning show and canceling several of her Las Vegas residency shows amid her ex's illness.
