This winter school holiday, families in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town can embrace the chill in the most exhilarating way – on ice! From 27 June to 21 July, the beloved Ice Rink returns, promising a vibrant escape from the winter blues. This year, the rink takes on a bold new makeover, glowing with an electrifying neon theme that has already got residents buzzing with excitement.
Located under the Covered Parking at Entrance 6 of the Cape Gate Shopping Centre, the CG Ice Rink is operational daily from 10:00 to 19:00, with an early closure on Sundays. It invites little skaters aged 3 to 13 – along with their parents – to glide, spin, and share laughter through 50-minute skating sessions, making chilly days a highlight of the holiday.
Zoë Enslin, Marketing Manager at Capegate Shopping Centre said the Ice Rink has become a firm favourite for families during the school breaks. "This year, we wanted to do something a little unexpected," she said.
"The neon theme brings a playful, electric energy to the experience. It's where wobbly first steps turn into shared laughs and unforgettable family moments."
