Aamir Khan
has been everywhere lately, actively promoting his latest film Sitaare Zameen Par. Over the past few months, he's made appearances on several popular Indian YouTube channels to spread the word.
Now, six weeks after its theatrical release, the film is heading to YouTube—but instead of being free or on a subscription-based OTT platform, it will follow a pay-per-view model.
Aamir launched a new YouTube channel called Aamir Khan Talkies. He said all films from his production house will eventually be available there, with some content behind a paywall and some available for free. The channel will also be a platform to support and promote work by new filmmakers.
To promote this move, Aamir created a special video with his son
Junaid Khan
. In the promo, they recreate a memorable scene from Aamir's cult classic Andaz Apna Apna. Aamir plays the role of Deven Verma (who played his father in the original), while Junaid steps into Aamir's old role as Amar. The scene they recreate is the one where Amar convinces his father to shut down their barber shop and start a bangle business. In this new version, they use the same setting to discuss the YouTube release of Sitaare Zameen Par.

Aamir also humorously references some of his past flops like Thugs of Hindostan and Laal Singh Chaddha, even jokingly calling his son a 'nepo kid.'
Aamir's younger son Azad makes a cameo at the end, and the original 'Andaz Apna Apna' director, Rajkumar Santoshi, also shows up. Santoshi is currently working on 'Lahore 1947' with Sunny Deol and Preity Zint, which is being produced by Aamir.
At a press conference in Mumbai, Aamir explained why he chose YouTube over OTT platforms. He revealed he turned down a ₹125 crore deal from a major OTT service and said, "Almost 55 crore Indians visit YouTube in a single day. I thought that if I land on YouTube, I can showcase my content everywhere and because of UPI, all Indians can easily pay for it.'
Meanwhile, on work front for Junaid. He was last seen in 'Loveyapa' with Khushi Kapoor after his debut film 'Maharaj' which had released on OTT.

Jamai No. 1 actress Simaran Kaur champions authenticity and balance online; says 'Social media is for us, not the other way round'

Actor Simaran Kaur , known for winning hearts with her charm and talent in Jamai No.1, is refreshingly candid when it comes to social media. With a massive fanbase that admires her for both her performances and authenticity, Simaran has a grounded perspective on how digital platforms impact actors and the entertainment industry. 'Social media is undoubtedly important for an actor — it's how we stay connected with our fans,' Simaran says. 'There are so many people who shower love, blessings, and support. That connection is beautiful. But I consciously limit my screen time. There's so much more to life that demands attention, and I've even set screen usage limits for myself.' While she acknowledges the significance of having a digital presence, she is equally wary of the pitfalls. 'It can quickly become addictive if you're not careful. But I've never let it control me. I always remind myself — social media is for us; we are not for social media,' she states firmly, reflecting her mindful approach. Simaran also addresses the growing industry trend of judging actors based on follower count. 'People often assume that a high follower count is equal to talent. But I don't agree. An actor should be hired for their skill, dedication, and the work they've done — not for their online numbers,' she says. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Tetange: Unsold Furniture Liquidation 2024 (Prices May Surprise You) Unsold Furniture | Search Ads Learn More Undo 'Craft should always take precedence over digital popularity.' On the topic of oversharing, Simaran believes in striking a healthy balance. 'Some people put everything out there — every moment becomes content. I believe in boundaries. Not everything needs to be on display. But again, it's a personal choice, and everyone uses social media in their own way.' Her guiding principle, however, remains clear: authenticity. 'I've never tried to be someone I'm not. I don't strategize my posts or overthink them. I share what feels right, when it feels right. The key is to stay real — that's what truly connects.' Whether it's through her acting, her voice work as Nobita, or her popular dance reels, Simaran Kaur stands out for her sincerity. In an age of curated perfection, her realness offers a breath of fresh air — reminding us that staying true to oneself never goes out of style. Simaran Kaur: I got my first love letter in school

'Son of Sardaar 2' and 'Dhadak 2' day 1 box-office report: Both sequels suffer slow starts, fail to surpass 1st day earnings of their predecessors

Despite being anticipated continuations of popular originals, both Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 opened to underwhelming numbers at the Indian box office. Released on the same Friday, the two films underperformed compared to the robust opening day revenues of their respective predecessors. Son Of Saardar 2 Box Office Collection According to data shared by the box-office monitoring platform Sacnilk , Son of Sardaar 2, a comedy-drama starring Ajay Devgn, managed to earn just Rs 6.75 crore on its debut day. This was significantly lower than the original Son of Sardaar, which had garnered Rs 10.80 crore on its first day. Despite Ajay Devgn's strong screen presence and a wide theatrical rollout across various metropolitan cities, the sequel failed to attract audiences in large numbers. In contrast, Devgn's earlier 2025 release, Raid 2, had enjoyed a much stronger launch with Rs 19.25 crore in opening day earnings. That film benefited from a national holiday release and an impressive 34% occupancy rate, ultimately crossing the Rs 100 crore mark within its opening week. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora—marking his Bollywood debut—the film also includes a vast supporting ensemble. The cast features talents such as Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Neeru Bajwa, Deepak Dobriyal, Kubbra Sait, Chunky Panday, Vindu Dara Singh, and Sharat Saxena. Late actor Mukul Dev also appears posthumously, while Ashwini Kalsekar and Sahil Mehta play pivotal roles. Dhadak 2 Also Falls Behind On the same day, Dhadak 2 also saw a subdued response from moviegoers. The romantic drama, led by Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi, earned Rs 3.35 crore on its opening day. This figure is less than half of what the 2018 original, Dhadak, collected on its first day—Rs 8.71 crore. Despite fresh leads and a contemporary storyline, Dhadak 2 didn't replicate the magic or momentum of the debut film. Directed and written by Shazia Iqbal, Dhadak 2 is presented as a spiritual successor to the original. It also functions as a reinterpretation of the critically acclaimed Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal. Produced jointly by Dharma Productions, Zee Studios, and Cloud 9 Pictures, the film aimed to deliver a powerful social message wrapped in a romantic narrative—but struggled to find its footing during the initial release.

'SSMB29' update: No birthday surprise for Mahesh Babu fans as Rajamouli skips traditional release plans

Picture Credit: X It is common practice among South Indian filmmakers to release a motion poster on an actor's birthday as a treat to fans. With superstar Mahesh Babu teaming up with SS Rajamouli for their much-anticipated film, expectations were high that the makers would unveil something special on the 'Guntur Kaaram' actor's birthday. However, this year, it appears that fans will have to wait a little longer. No birthday glimpse this year According to a report by India Today, director SS Rajamouli has taken a deliberate decision to skip the traditional birthday release, focusing instead on building something far more grand in scale and scope. It has been reported that the makers discussed releasing a title teaser or a concept poster for Mahesh 's birthday, but the ace director did not want the release to be rushed just to meet a date for the momentary hype. No mass poster moments SS Rajamouli, after the global success of 'RRR', is reportedly creating an international-level action-adventure film that aims to appeal not just to Telugu cinema fans but to audiences worldwide. It is also said that the film won't be a typical mass film with a poster with fiery eyes and a punchline. The project is still in deep pre-production, with multiple test shoots, costume and makeup trials, and stunt choreography underway. A grand project is in the works While fans may be momentarily disheartened, it is expected to be worth the wait as Rajamouli reportedly has something massive planned for the reveal on his own timeline and wants the first glimpse to shake up not just Indian social media but film conversations worldwide. Alongside Mahesh Babu, 'SSMB29' also stars Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran and is expected to release in 2027.
