‘A robust platform to empower young entrepreneurs': CM inaugurates CM YUVA Conclave
The state government is offering 10 per cent margin money assistance to support budding entrepreneurs further. Highlighting the potential of Uttar Pradesh's youths, he said, 'CM YUVA Yojana is not just a financial aid programme, but a robust platform providing mentorship, market access and essential resources to empower young entrepreneurs.' He directed officials to ensure that at least 50 youngsters from each district visit the exhibition so they can gain firsthand knowledge about various government schemes, startup resources and market opportunities.
He also inaugurated the exhibition and launched 'UP Mart', a portal for machinery suppliers, aimed at easing access to essential tools and equipment for startups. Also, 17 MoUs were signed in the CM's presence to boost entrepreneurship in the state.
Underscoring the unique features of the scheme, Adityanath noted that it addresses the key challenges faced by aspiring entrepreneurs— lack of capital, training, and guidance. 'This is not just a scheme —it's a movement. A golden opportunity for every youth who has a dream but lacks resources,' he said.
Addressing university Vice-Chancellors and youths at the CM YUVA Conclave, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed concern over the growing disconnect between academic institutions and society. 'Our institutions are becoming isolated islands, increasingly cut off from the people and government schemes. This disconnect is dangerous,' he said.
He pointed out that due to lack of information, many young people fall prey to fraudulent schemes, get burdened by debt and are often left with no choice but to migrate in search of opportunities. 'But now, this cycle will end,' he asserted.
The CM highlighted several initiatives launched to revive Uttar Pradesh's traditional industries, including handicrafts, cottage industries, and the MSME sector. 'Today, there is no licensing requirement for the first 1,000 days of starting a new enterprise in the state. We are also providing an insurance cover of ₹5 lakh to support young entrepreneurs,' he said.
Reflecting on the 2017 Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra of the BJP, prepared under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister said that a commitment was made to promote traditional industries through a dedicated scheme. Acting on this, a statewide survey was conducted post-2017, which revealed that every district had unique traditional enterprises. However, due to corruption, lawlessness, and large-scale migration, these industries had nearly collapsed.
The CM said that the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme has helped boost Uttar Pradesh's exports from Rs 86,000 crore to over Rs 2 lakh crore. 'Earlier, Chinese products flooded the markets during festivals. Today, locally made ODOP items are finding a place in every household,' he added.
He also announced that products from Uttar Pradesh would be prominently featured at an International Trade Show scheduled from September 25 to 29, 2025, at the India Expo Centre in Noida. 'The Buyer-Seller Meet held at this event has become a massive platform for showcasing the state's potential. No one would have imagined such innovation and enterprise from UP just a few years ago. From four lakh participants in the first year to five lakh in the second, the show is pushing forward our vision of taking local products to the global stage,' he said.

Mamata slams Shah for SIR: ‘Show your parents' birth certificates first
In a scathing attack on the BJP and Union Home Minister over the detention and deportation of Bengali migrants and the controversial Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday challenged Amit Shah to produce the birth certificates of his parents. Addressing a Bhasha Andolan rally in tribal-dominated Jhargram, the TMC supremo alleged that SIR, which was recently conducted by the Election Commission in poll-bound Bihar, was a backdoor way of implementing the NRC (National Register of Citizens) in the country 'to systematically disenfranchise minorities, tribals, and opposition supporters'. 'They (ECI) are asking for the birth certificates of people's parents. Where will they get those from? I want to ask today. Do BJP leaders themselves have their parents' birth certificates? Mr Amit Shah, arrest me if I am wrong. Do you have your parents' birth certificates? Show that first. Then talk about removing people's names from the voters' list. When BJP leaders come here, we will hit the streets and protest,' she said. 'Previously, children were born at home. Where will the certificate come from? Now everything is based on 2002. Those who are demanding this, do they have their birth certificates,' she asked. Calling the citizenship notices issued to two West Bengal residents by the BJP government in Assam, 'unconstitutional and illegal', the chief minister said: 'Notices are being served to members of the Tapashili and Rajbanshi communities from Assam… We strongly condemn this. This is a veiled attempt to implement NRC. Shame on the BJP.' 'People are committing suicide out of fear of the NRC. Who will take responsibility for this? Tribals, minorities, and Tapashilis are facing persecution across the country. If they try to snatch away the rights of the people, they'll have to go over our bodies,' the chief minister asserted, urging people not to respond to the notices. 'This conspiracy of implementing the NRC through the back door will not be tolerated. We will not give up an inch of land without a fight. How dare they serve NRC notices to people here? Do not respond to those notices. Live here in Bengal peacefully,' the chief minister said. Mamata also threatened to take up the issue of persecution of Bengalis at global forums if it didn't stop immediately. 'If they remove the names of genuine Bengalis from the electoral rolls, I will travel the world and expose their (BJP's) true faces,' Banerjee warned. 'I never speak about our country to the outside world. But if this continues, I will not remain silent. If Bengal faces atrocities, I will tell the whole world how this government is torturing us,' she said, after taking part in a 3-km-long protest march. Referring to BJP IT Cell chief Amit Malviya's comment that there is no language called Bengali, the TMC supremo said if the Opposition party leaders attack the Bengali language or Bengal's people, she will not stay silent. 'Who gave birth to India's freedom struggle and social awakening? Without Bengal, neither India nor the world can move forward. Bengal's talent is spread across the globe. And what are you doing today?' she said. Drawing from history to bolster her point, the TMC chief said, 'Today, if someone speaks Bengali, they are jailed and labelled as Bangladeshi or Rohingya. I want to ask them, in which language did Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam, Netaji, Swami Vivekananda, and Raja Ram Mohan Roy speak? In which language was the National Anthem written? Who composed our National Song?' The Bengal BJP condemned her attack on Amit Shah, calling her remarks 'unbecoming of a chief minister' and reflective of her 'growing political desperation.

Haryana govt notifies new Mansa Devi Shrine Board
1 2 Chandigarh: The Haryana govt's notification of the reconstituted Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board (SMDSB), comprising regular and associate members, has surprised many, including the heavyweights of Panchkula BJP. Notably, the list of board members notified by the ULB department includes former Speaker Gian Chand Gupta at the top, followed by Kalka MLA Shakti Rani Sharma, Panchkula mayor Kulbhushan Goyal; Banto Kataria, a BJP leader and widow of former MP Ratan Lal Kataria; Kalka civic body president Krishan Lamba, former Panchkula BJP leader R P Malhotra, former city BJP leader Devender Dhawan, Hari Pal Gupta, and Ambala businessman Rishabh Gupta. The associate members include Ishwar Jindal, a staunch RSS worker, and Dr Puneet Bedi, an educationist-turned-politician and head of the intellectual cell of the Panchkula BJP district unit. Though the nomination to the board is a prerogative of the chief minister's office, this time, the induction of RSS men, namely Rishabh Gupta and Ishwar Jindal, along with the induction of Panchkula mayor Kulbhushan Goyal and Krishan Lamba, has surprised and shocked certain BJP leaders, especially those who are eyeing the party's candidature for the Panchkula and Kalka assembly constituencies. In the past, there was a precedent of inducting active visitors and contributors to the shrine. Those associated with the shrine for decades have put a question mark on the criteria. "Barring one or two members, we have hardly seen majority of nominated members visiting Mansa Devi shrine or other shrines. They only come during a CM's visit, or Navratras. This is really beyond our understanding, as the recommendation of heavyweights too has been sidelined," one such disheartened aspirant said. However, businessman Rishabh Gupta said, "This is a sewa given to me and our family, who have been visiting the shrine for many decades. This decision has come from the CMO after detailed deliberation, and we take it as blessings of the deity." Sources informed that district and state-level BJP leaders were lobbying for their respective candidates. "The list was prepared by the CMO, in consultation with CM Nayab Saini and RSS ideologues of the district as well as the state. Former Speaker Gupta, Kalka MLA Shakti Rani Sharma, Banto Kataria, Kulbhushan Goyal, and Krishan Lamba are learned to have been inducted due to their stature in public," sources added.
