Best Apple Pencil Deals: Upgrade Your iPad Experience With These Stylus Discounts

Yahoo11-02-2025

We're huge fans of Apple's iPad lineup and we don't think that it's at all controversial to say that. The iPad lineup consists of some of the best tablets money can buy, and you can really upgrade your experience by picking up an Apple Pencil to go with it. Apple offers a few different stylus options, and although not all work with each of its iPads, there should still be something for everyone. They aren't cheap, unfortunately, but they do offer features that aren't usually available anywhere else.
Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money.
There are now four Apple Pencil models to choose from, with prices normally starting at $79. You don't have to go with the Apple logo if you don't want to, but no matter which stylus you choose, there's no reason to overpay.
We've rounded up all the best bargains so you can get the right product at the right price. Before you buy, just be sure to confirm that your chosen Apple Pencil or third-party stylus is compatible with your particular iPad.
The brand-new Apple Pencil Pro is now here and is compatible with the latest M4 iPad Pro and M2 iPad Air. Both of the new tablets offer upgraded features, but the new Apple Pencil Pro brings with it its own array of improvements.
The Apple Pencil Pro includes support for a new squeeze gesture that can be used to quickly open the tools palette, while a barrel roll gesture lets you twist the Apple Pencil Pro to change how lines are drawn.
Note that the Apple Pencil Pro is only compatible with the M4 iPad Pro and M2 iPad Air.
The brand-new Apple Pencil Pro is compatible with the latest M4 iPad Pro and M2 iPad Air only, but it includes new features such as squeeze and barrel roll gestures for improved and speedier tool selection and interactions.

Apple's first-gen Apple Pencil was released in November 2015 and has stuck around since then. At its debut, it worked only with the first iPad Pro model before support was added to others. It has a Lightning connector built into the end for charging the Apple Pencil right from your iPad, and it has a removable tip that can be changed after your current one starts to get worn down.
The first-gen Apple Pencil is compatible with all pre-2018 iPad Pro models, the iPad Air 3, the iPad Mini 2019 and all base-model iPads since 2018. It's also the one used with the 2022 10th-gen iPad. Awkwardly, there are two versions of the first-gen Apple Pencil for sale at most retailers: one with a Lightning adapter and one with a USB-C adapter. Other than the adapter, the Apple Pencil is exactly the same, so the deciding factor between them is purely how you wish to charge the device. The USB-C version hasn't been on the market as long and tends not to be discounted. Here are the best first-gen Pencil deals you can buy right now.
The second-gen Apple Pencil launched in October 2018 alongside the third-gen iPad Pro. While they look similar on the surface, there are quite a few differences between the two stylus models. One big difference is that the Apple Pencil 2 charges magnetically while attached to newer iPads, meaning there's no Lightning connector. The design is slightly refined as well, with one flat side that's used to charge and a sensor near the tip that enables double-tap features.
The second-gen Apple Pencil works with 11- and 12.9-inch iPad Pros (2018 and later models except for the M4 model), as well as newer iPad Air models (2020 and 2022, but not the M2 iPad Air) and the iPad Mini 6. Here are the best Apple Pencil 2 deals you can get right now.
The Apple Pencil goes USB-C with this new, more affordable option that still attaches to the side of some iPads magnetically but doesn't charge that way. Instead, a sliding cap reveals a hidden USB-C port for plugging in a cable to charge.
This is Apple's latest stylus that sits somewhere between the other options, taking some features from each. It has tilt sensitivity, low latency use and pressure sensitivity but misses out on things like wireless charging and the iPad Pro's hover feature. In terms of compatibility, the newest Apple Pencil works with all iPad models that have a USB-C port, including the iPad Pro, iPad Air and iPad Mini.
The USB-C Apple Pencil is the most affordable yet and is compatible with all USB-C iPads. It comes with its own charging port.

The Apple Pencil offers one of the best experiences when paired with the iPad, but it may not be the best choice for everyone. There are cheaper alternatives. Here are some of the best ones that are on sale right now.
Zagg's Pro Stylus 2 has been upgraded with wireless charging and a bunch of new colors. It has Apple Pencil-like palm rejection and tilt recognition, plus a round capacitive tip on the back. It lasts for 6 hours per charge and can be magnetically attached to your iPad.
See at Amazon
Zagg's Pro stylus also offers an Apple Pencil-like experience for less. It has palm rejection and tilt-recognition tech like Apple's version, offers automatic pairing and even attaches magnetically to the side of your iPad Pro or iPad Air (although you'll need to charge it via USB-C). It's down to $40 right now.

Adonit's Dash 3 stylus offers a paper-like drag for a more natural writing and drawing experience. It's capacitive so there's no need to connect via Bluetooth, and it offers up to 14 hours of continuous usage. Save $10 when you pick it up from Adonit directly.

The decision here is simple: You have to buy the one that's compatible with your iPad. Apple doesn't let you pick which Apple Pencil you want to use with which iPad. Instead, iPads are only compatible with a specific model of the Apple Pencil.
As outlined above, the original Apple Pencil works with the first- and second-gen 12.9-inch iPad Pro, 10.5-inch iPad Pro, 9.7-inch iPad Pro, iPad Air 3 and fifth-gen iPad Mini, and all of the base-model iPads since the sixth-gen model. If you have a newer iPad Pro, fourth- or fifth-gen iPad Air or sixth-gen iPad Mini, you'll need to opt for the Apple Pencil 2.
If you want to avoid this confusion, you can select from one of the non-Apple alternatives listed above, which generally have broader compatibility.

This AI ETF Could Turn $10,000 Into $40,000 by 2035

It's becoming clearer that artificial intelligence is going to have a meaningful impact on the economy over time. Investors that want diversified exposure to the AI trend should consider this top ETF that has produced a monster 414% total return in the past 10 years. While there continues to be a lot of excitement about AI in the near term, it's important that investors have the patience to focus on the next decade and beyond. 10 stocks we like better than Invesco QQQ Trust › There's no denying it -- artificial intelligence (AI) is likely going to have a profound impact on the world over the long term. Entire industries could be altered. It's no wonder management teams are increasingly focused on ways to better position themselves for long-term success. From an investment perspective, perhaps it's starting to make sense that your portfolio should have some exposure to AI. Luckily, investors don't necessarily need to pick individual stocks if they want to benefit from the trend. There's one top AI exchange-traded fund (ETF) that could turn $10,000 into $40,000 by 2035. Continue reading to learn more about how to supercharge your portfolio for future success. In the last 10 years, the Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ: QQQ) has generated a total return of 414% (as of June 3). This means that a $10,000 investment made in June 2015 would be worth $51,400 today. I don't think anyone in their right mind would complain with that kind of fantastic result. Even better, the expense ratio of 0.20% is a minimal cost to bear for that type of gain. There's no guarantee that past returns will repeat themselves going forward. Let's assume that there is a slowdown. Even so, I wouldn't be surprised if investors who put the same $10,000 in this ETF today see a fourfold gain in the next decade, resulting in a 15% annualized return. There's a lot of talk about how the stock market's current valuation is expensive. But consider that this has been the general narrative for a very long time. Yet that hasn't prevented equity markets from marching higher. The rise of passive investing, ongoing economic expansion, and dominance of tech-driven enterprises have all played a part. I'm fairly confident these trends will continue. The Invesco QQQ Trust can be considered a top AI ETF, even though it contains 100 stocks in total. There is heavy concentration among the top positions, many of which have a meaningful AI focus. The so-called hyperscalers, most notably Amazon, Microsoft, and Alphabet, combined represent 18.9% of the Invesco QQQ Trust's asset base. These dominant companies have leading cloud computing platforms that offer a range of AI tools to their customers. They're collectively planning to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on capital expenditures in 2025 in an effort to bolster their technical infrastructure to better position themselves for an AI future. We can't forget about Nvidia, the biggest beneficiary thus far of the AI boom. It provides the graphics-processing units that power AI data centers, posting unbelievable revenue and profit growth. It's the second-largest holding in the Invesco QQQ Trust. Other top positions are Apple, Meta Platforms, Netflix, and Tesla. There's no doubt that AI has and will keep impacting these businesses in some way as well. Investing correctly means having patience. While the AI craze has definitely made some investors rich in a short period of time, that's the wrong mindset to have. When buying the Invesco QQQ Trust, it's critical to keep the attention on the next decade and beyond. AI has the ability to revolutionize many parts of our economy, and this will all take time to play out. As of this writing, the Invesco QQQ Trust trades 2% off its peak. It might be tempting to wait for a bigger pullback to put money to work. However, I believe this is a flawed approach. It's a smart idea to invest early and often, letting compounding work its magic. Investing in this top AI ETF could work wonders for your portfolio between now and 2035. iPhone users say Mail app is suddenly freezing with iOS 18.5 — here's a fix you can try

Since Apple rolled out iOS 18.5, a growing number of iPhone users have reported issues with accessing their inbox as the Mail app is getting stuck on a blank white screen. Several comments on Reddit and the Apple Support Community describe being unable to view emails in their inboxes as the app is either glitchy or unresponsive. The underlying cause remains unclear, but the issues don't appear to be tied to any specific iPhone model, suggesting it could be a software-related problem tied to iOS 18.5 or the Mail app itself. Interestingly, reports of this Mail app issue have only been cropping up in the past few days, while iOS 18.5 went live last month. iOS 18.5 added a few notable features like screen time notifications and a new Pride-themed wallpaper, but its updates for the Apple Mail app could be causing the issues. With iOS 18.5, Apple brought back the "All Mail" inbox view and added the option to hide contact photos from the Mail app to make your inbox less distracting. Apple has not officially acknowledged the issue, and the company's System Status page does not indicate any problems with the Mail app. But while there's no official fix yet, some users said restarting their iPhones solved the issue, but only temporarily. Others have had luck with force-closing the app or disabling the keyboard's auto-correction to get it working again. Another affected user with an iPhone XR running iOS 18.5 was told by Apple Support to try resetting the phone's network settings, which seemed to do the trick, PC Mag reports. To do this on your iPhone, head to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Until Apple acknowledges the issue and provides a fix, affected users should contact Apple support for assistance in the meantime.
