The aircraft was carrying doctors and nurses.
A probe is underway after six people have died and two others were left injured when a plane carrying doctors crashed into homes in a residential area.

The incident took place in Ruiru, Kiambu County, Kenya, this afternoon, Thursday, August 7, 2025, after the Cessna Citation XLS aircraft left Wilson Airport in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi.

The plane belonged to AMREF Flying Doctors, which provides "fixed-wing air ambulance services" in Africa. It is not yet clear what caused the crash. Four people were onboard the plane at the time.

The Mirror reports the deceased include two doctors, two nurses and two members of public, according to the Kiambu County Commissioner. It comes after reports of a dad's desperate phone call moments before explosion kills him and his daughters.
"At this time, we are cooperating fully with relevant aviation authorities and emergency response teams to establish the facts surrounding the situation," AMREF Flying Doctors CEO Stephen Gitau said.

The Cessna took off from Wilson Airport in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi at 2:17pm and was on its way to Hargeisa, Somalia when it crashed.
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) said the aircraft lost radio and radar contact three minutes after it took off from Wilson Airport. Multiple homes were damaged near the crash site, which has a radius of around 100 metres.

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the National Police Service were deployed to the scene and both are now engaged in rescue operations. An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
Local resident Njeri Wanjiru said the plane looked like it was "struggling to land" and "hit several houses" before it crashed, according to Daily Nation.
Yesterday, the crash of a military helicopter in Ghana killed all eight people onboard, including the West African country's defence and environment ministers and other top officials, the government said.

Ghana's military said the helicopter took off in the morning from the capital Accra and was heading north west into the interior towards the gold-mining area of Obuasi in the Ashanti region when it went off the radar.
The wreckage was later found in the Adansi area of Ashanti. The cause of the crash was not immediately known and the military said an investigation was under way.
Defence minister Edward Omane Boamah and environment minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed were killed alongside the vice-chair of the National Democratic Congress ruling party, a top national security adviser, and crew members.
Ghana's government described the crash as a 'national tragedy'. State media reported that the aircraft was a Z-9 helicopter that is often used for transport and medical evacuation.
An online video of the crash site shows debris on fire in a forest as some citizens circle around to help. Wednesday's crash was one of Ghana's worst air disasters in more than a decade.

Scotland's youngest Covid patient who survived virus as newborn to start school

Peyton Maguire's family feared for her life when she tested positive for the virus as a premature baby. A five-year-old girl who was believed to be Scotland's youngest Covid patient surviving the virus as a newborn is about to start school. ‌ Peyton Maguire, from Uddingston, South Lanarkshire, tested positive for coronavirus at just three weeks old in April 2020, after she was born eight weeks prematurely on March 26. ‌ Born at their height of the global pandemic, she was believed to be the youngest child with the virus in the country and mum Tracy and dad AJ feared she wouldn't survive. ‌ Little Peyton lived thanks to care received at University Hospital Wishaw and has suffered no long-term health conditions and will now begin school in Uddingston on Thursday, August 14. Her mum Tracy, 32, said: 'The headteacher has joked that they're about to have a celebrity join the school. 'She's great except for a touch of asthma – it's a real tribute to the staff who looked after her. I was so moved when I found out some of them had to live away from their own children during the pandemic but were caring for my baby." ‌ Payton was delivered early by caesarean section after her mum was diagnosed with the serious pregnancy condition pre-eclampsia. The newborn was being cared for in an incubator in the neonatal unit when her parents were told the alarming news that she'd tested positive for Covid after being screened for a range of viruses. Tracy and AJ initially feared she would not survive, with AJ preparing to say goodbye to her via video call. ‌ Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Tracy recalled: 'We were told we'd have to stay away from Peyton for 14 days and isolate at home but I pleaded not to be apart from my baby for that long. The staff kindly agreed I could isolate with her in the hospital while AJ stayed at home. 'Watching the staff at work was incredible. They put their lives at risk to make sure my baby was getting fed and cuddled. Even wearing their PPE, they were determined to hold her. ‌ 'I found the same compassion when I had my second daughter, Harley, who's nearly two now. She was also premature and needed extra care. Peyton was able to visit me and Harley in the maternity unit during the day and the staff were very happy to see her again.' Tracy and AJ, who are both boxing coaches, shared the family's story far and wide, with unexpected results. Tracy added: 'We've been in so many papers, magazines and TV shows.' ‌ 'But the most worthwhile thing her story has led us to do was taking part in a conference for neonatal nurses, where I shared my experience. 'I was also amazed when a woman tapped me on the shoulder in the street and told me she'd read my story and it was the only reason she'd felt confident to go to hospital to have her baby during the pandemic.' Cheryl Clark, NHS Lanarkshire Director of Midwifery, said: 'We all remember Peyton so well, as caring for a newborn with COVID was a new experience for us all at that point. 'It's great to hear how she's doing and hard to believe that tiny, vulnerable baby is now a lively five-year-old who's about to go to school.'

Dr Vegan Gut Works Supplements From £14.50 Dr Vegan Buy Now on Dr Vegan Product Description While other supplement brands offer various formulations and bacterial strains, focusing more on specific symptoms and potentially at a higher cost, some individuals find swallowing capsules off-putting. For those seeking a liquid alternative, celebrities like Frankie Bridge and Georgia Toffolo have endorsed Symprove, available in a variety of flavours, including Pineapple, Strawberry, and Raspberry. Alternatively, LookFantastic has slashed the price of MyProtein's Gut Gummies by 48 percent, bringing them down to £16.99. These chewable tablets provide a convenient way to boost digestive health, packed with one billion live cultures and 40mg of vitamin C. Meanwhile, customer reviews for Dr Vegan's Gut Works are mainly positive, boasting a 4.3-star rating based on over 300 reviews. Customers have reported a range of benefits, including alleviated IBS symptoms and bloating, as well as weight loss and improved mood. One thrilled customer, who gave her name as Joanne, shared: "IBS symptoms and life changed forever. My gastroenterologist advised me to consider this type of product, stating that if I took it every day without fail, my symptoms would likely improve. I came across this product and decided to give it a try. He was right. I could not visit friends for dinner, had trouble on holiday and my social life was controlled by my stomach... not any more. Life changing." Another buyer, Conal, added to the rave reviews: "Excellent product. My stomach feels less bloated, and with a change of eating habits, I have started to lose weight. I will continue to take Gut Works from now on." Sheila also shared encouraging results from her trial: "I'm very impressed. My bloating has stopped/disappeared, and I've lost 4lb." A further satisfied customer branded the supplement as life-altering: "Gut Works is quite simply magic. I had been suffering with IBS and tummy issues for years. Gut Works has really changed my life. I didn't think anything could help me but Gut Works has." However, not all feedback was entirely glowing, highlighting how individual gut health reactions can differ. Whilst some praised it as miraculous, others didn't experience the same level of transformation. One user, however, had a different experience and saw no benefits: "Didn't work for me. It was easy to swallow, though, and I liked that it was taken once a day. I've just received a lovely note from the company though and they have refunded me." Despite occasional negative reviews, overall customer sentiment remains overwhelmingly positive. Another delighted customer shared a five-star review, stating: "Since taking Gut Works, my tummy is so much better. Flatter and my trousers fit. I haven't changed my diet, so it's all down to Gut Work." Those interested in trying the Gut Works supplements can buy them from their website, with the opportunity to use the promotional code GUT50 for a 50 percent discount on an initial order from Dr Vegan.
