
P.E.I. man arrested following shelter in place order in Summerside
Police issued the alert saying 28-year-old Mitchell Thomas Lannigan of Milltown Cross was armed and dangerous in the Water Street East-area at around 9 a.m. Police also asked the public from MacEwen Road to Reads Corner to shelter in place.
At 10 a.m. police announced Lannigan, who fled from police, is now in custody and the shelter in place was lifted.
In a news release from Sunday, police issued an arrest warrant for Lannigan after they responded to a reported assault and gunfire at a Miminegash parking lot early Saturday morning. Police said Lannigan had been involved in an altercation with two other men, when he brought out a handgun and fired it, although they do not believe the shots were targeted at people.
In that release, police said he is facing charges including:
- assault
- possession of a handgun
- possession of a handgun while prohibited
- two counts of pointing a firearm
- use of a firearm in a careless manner
- breach of a probation order

Toronto man arrested in connection to attack on parking enforcement officer
Toronto police have arrested a man in connection with an assault on a parking enforcement officer this weekend. The alleged incident took place on Sunday in the Park Lawn Road and Lake Shore Boulevard West area. Police said the parking enforcement officer was working in the area when the suspect because upset that he was issued a parking ticket, assaulting the office. The officer suffered minor injuries. Roman Kravchyshyn, 46, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with assault of a peace officer. He is scheduled to appear in court in September.

Suspect in Surrey, B.C., stabbing identified, remains at large
Dino Sadi is believed to be in the Lower Mainland region. He is considered dangerous and should not be approached, according to authorities. (Handout) Police in Surrey, B.C., have identified a man who is wanted in connection with a stabbing in the city earlier this month. The Surrey Police Service says 43-year-old Dino Sadi remains at large after he was charged with multiple offences, including assault with a weapon, uttering threats and assault causing bodily harm. Police responded to the reported stabbing near the 10900 block of 148 Street on July 14. The suspect fled the area before officers arrived, and the victim was transported to hospital for treatment. 'Investigators believe this was an isolated incident between two parties who were previously known to one another,' the Surrey police said in news release Monday. Sadi is believed to be in the Lower Mainland region. He is considered dangerous and should not be approached, according to authorities. Sadi is described as a Black man standing approximately 6' tall and weighing 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, according to investigators. Anyone who sees Sadi is urged to contact their local police immediately. Anyone with information on his whereabouts can contact the Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502.

One injured following hit and run involving pedestrian in Richibucto, N.B.
One person has been sent to the hospital with injuries following a hit and run involving a pedestrian in Richibucto, N.B., over the weekend. Police responded to the report of a person who had been hit by a vehicle on Highway 11 near Exit 42 at around 2 a.m. on Saturday. Police believed the vehicle was travelling southbound at the time of the incident and failed to remain at the scene, according to a news release Monday. The pedestrian was taken to hospital with what police called non-life-threatening injuries. Police do not currently have a description of the vehicle.
