Serena Williams's Husband, Alexis Ohanian, Had The Best Response To Criticism Of Her Viral Appearance In Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl Halftime Show
If you missed it, Serena made a super brief yet significant appearance toward the end of Kendrick's performance. While he was rapping 'Not Like Us,' his famous diss track at Drake, the cameras panned over to Serena, who was Crip Walking over the catchy beat.
Several fans online immediately pointed out that Serena's Crip Walk felt hugely significant, given that she faced a heap of scrutiny for doing the same dance at Wimbledon in 2012.
If you didn't know, the Crip Walk is a dance move that originated in Serena's hometown, Compton, in the '70s. Serena performed the move in celebration after winning against fellow tennis player Maria Sharapova, though she was sadly criticized for it and accused of 'glamorizing gang culture.' About a decade prior, her older sister was killed by a Southside Crips member.
At the same time, a ton of social media users suggested that Serena dancing to 'Not Like Us' felt like a very pointed jab at Drake, given that they were romantically linked back in the day.
It's important to note that Drake has mentioned Serena in his song lyrics more than once since they were rumored to be dating about a decade ago. In 2022, for example, he branded her husband a 'groupie' on his song 'Middle of the Ocean.'
Media personality Stephen A. Smith was among those calling Serena out for seemingly making a jab at Drake by dancing on stage with Kendrick, suggesting on ESPN's chat show First Take that he'd divorce her over the move if he were her husband.
'If I'm married and my wife is going to join trolling her ex, go back to his ass, 'cause clearly you don't belong with me,' he said. 'What you worried about him for and you're with me? Bye. Bye.'
Stephen's comments sparked a divide online, and before long, Serena's *actual* husband Alexis (aka her number one fan) entered the conversation.
If you didn't know, Alexis and Serena have been married since 2017. They share two daughters: Olympia and Adira.
Taking to X, Alexis described the Super Bowl halftime show as 'pretty fantastic' before pointing out the importance of Serena's Crip Walk.
Twitter: @alexisohanian
'Some of y'all have no idea how criticized Serena was for this same dance at Wimbledon 13 years ago and it shows.... This is bigger than the music,' the Reddit cofounder tweeted.
Later replying directly to a tweet from the New York Post about Stephen's divisive comments, Alexis hilariously wrote, 'I got you @stephenasmith,' alongside a link to his tweet about the significance of Serena's dance.
Loads of fans have since praised Alexis's response. One person wrote, 'He does NOT play about his wife,' while another echoed, 'I love the way you don't play about Serena.'
'I came here knowing @alexisohanian would respond in the best way possible. Everyone should be lucky enough to have someone who has their back the way he has @serenawilliams,' one more tweet read.
I told you that Alexis is Serena's number one fan! I love this unbothered response from him. LMK your thoughts in the comments below.

Drake Requests Kendrick Lamar's Contract, Financials and Private Records in UMG Lawsuit
Summary Drakecontinues his legal battle againstUniversal Music Group (UMG)over theKendrick Lamardiss track 'Not Like Us.' He is now asking for sensitive information on the Compton rapper, ranging from his contract to allegations of crime and more. The Hollywood Reporterstates that Drizzy is attempting to persuade the court to force the record label and its chairman and CEO, Lucian Grainge, to hand over Dot's contract. He's also asking for any details and communications from Grainge regarding 'allegations of domestic violence and other crimes' supposedly committed by the pgLang head. A copy of UMG's contract with Lamar was previously given to Drake. The redactions, however, made it 'virtually unreadable and incomprehensible.' In addition, the OVO founder is also requesting for information about Interscope's finances and the value of Dot's catalog in the last five-and-a-half years. As per Drake, these documents are related to his accusations that UMG supported the defamatory statements made against him on 'Not Like Us' in order toincrease profits. He also claims that Grainge had a 'major role' in how UMG promoted 'Not Like Us' as the exec allegedly coaxed competition between the labels. While Drake and Lamar are both under UMG, Lamar's contract is with Interscope Records while the former's is with Republic Records.

‘Stranger Things' star Dacre Montgomery shares why he left Hollywood just as his stardom began
Stranger things have happened. Horror hunk Dacre Montgomery has shared why he stepped back from the limelight after finding stardom in Netflix's mega-hit show 'Stranger Things.' 'I think things have changed,' Montgomery said in an interview with The Australian. 'Traditional Hollywood stars existed because there was mystery… Social media has done away with that. That's a large part of why I dropped off the map for the last five years.' 4 Dacre Montgomery stepped back from Hollywood after acting in 'Stranger Things.' Courtesy Netflix The Australian-born actor, who rose to fame playing Billy Hargrove on the 12-time Emmy Award-winning series, wanted to navigate Tinseltown on his terms. 'I'm not trying to compete with anyone else, I'm living my truth — and hopefully being able to pay the rent while I'm doing it,' Montgomery said. Montgomery joined 'Stranger Things' during the show's second season and his character was killed off at the end of the third season, which aired in July 2019. 'I've given a piece of myself to every role I've played and that's largely why I've taken time off,' Dacre added. Montgomery has acted in nearly a dozen projects over the past decade. 4 Montgomery appeared in season 2 and 3 of Netflix's hit horror show. Getty Images His most notable roles include playing Steve Binder in the 2022's 'Elvis' starring Austin Butler and the Red Ranger in the 2017 'Power Rangers' film. 'Lately, there's been a lot of personal reflection about what I want in my career,' Montgomery added to the Australian. 'I'm trying to gain a bit more control over where and what I'm working on.' The 30-year-old is focused on picking projects that could leave a lasting 'impact' with viewers, according to his recent interview with People Magazine. 4 Montgomery is planning to make his directorial debut with the film 'The Engagement Party.' Penske Media via Getty Images He hoped his new indie thriller, 'Went Up the Hill,' might accomplish his vision of creating work with a long-term presence with some audiences. 'The connective tissue between all the films I'm trying to do at the moment is films that have something really important to say, and 'Went Up the Hill' is divisive,' Montgomery told People. 'It's not a movie that everyone will connect to, but the people that do connect to it, I hope, will find catharsis.' Montgomery added, 'And that's why you make these movies, right? Because it only has to impact one person in the right way to work. And that's really what I'm really trying to mine in my career, is being a part of projects like that.'
