Madonna Cuts a Dashing Figure in a Tom Ford Tuxedo at the 2025 Met Gala
It's not a real New York night out until Madonna has made her presence known, and the Material Girl herself made her typical splash at the 2025 Met Gala on Monday night in a cream Tom Ford double-breasted tuxedo that was perfectly in keeping with the night's 'Tailored For You' dress code. Madonna's suit jacket was accentuated by a pair of pleated trousers and a crisp white piqué plastron shirt with a wing-tipped collar and a single gardenia at her lapel—and to be honest, I'm kind of wondering if this look should inspire us all to make this the summer of the white suit. (Or is that too Tom Wolfe?)
This isn't Madonna's first time setting trends on the Met Gala red carpet, of course. Whether she's accompanying her longtime collaborator Jean Paul Gaultier in a gorgeously Goth crown of crosses, or getting a little punk with it in a studded tartan blazer courtesy of former Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci, the 66-year-old musician, actress, and mom of four always understands the assignment.
Madonna did famously sing at the 2018 Met Gala, covering Leonard Cohen's 1984 song 'Hallelujah' while perched on the Met stairs (and then treating the audience to a first look at her then-new song 'Beautiful Game'). While it doesn't appear we're in for a repeat Madonna performance this time around, at least we can all appreciate her flawless commitment to the suiting theme.

According to a report from Deadline on Monday (May 12), Madonna has teamed up with Deadpool & Wolverine producer Shawn Levy to develop a limited series based on her life and career for Netflix. The new project is apparently not related to a much-discussed and since-delayed feature film based on Madonna's life. The project, which was being developed by Universal Pictures and set to star Ozark and Inventing Anna actress Julia Garner as the pop superstar, was put on an indefinite hold in 2023 as Madonna embarked on her Celebration World Tour. In 2024, however, Madonna sparked rumors that the film might be back in the works, when she shared a since-deleted photo of herself sitting at a typewriter working on a screenplay titled Who's That Girl — an apparent nod to her 1987 film and song of the same name. Still, Madonna herself floated the idea of creating a TV series about her life in November of last year, claiming that a number of 'producers and agents' told her that she wouldn't be able to make her film the way she wanted to. 'Downsize-down scale-think smaller-they say—I realized that everything in my life is going to be challenged,' she wrote in a since-removed post, before asking her fans if they would prefer to see her story adapted into 'a series or a feature film.' Sean Penn Reacts (30 Years Later) to Madonna Calling Him the Love of Her Life
In her 1991 documentary Truth or Dare, Madonna declared that Sean Penn was the love of her life. And more than three decades later, the actor is sharing his thoughts on it. In an interview on The Louis Theroux Podcast posted Monday (May 12), Penn said that his superstar ex-wife was 'very sweet' for her remarks in the Alek Keshishian-directed doc when asked whether he recalled what she'd said. 'I do,' he told Theroux. 'Look, she's been a good friend for a lot of years.' Madonna Sets July Release Date For Long-Rumored ‘Veronica Electronica' EDM Remix Album
Madonna is giving the people what they want. The singer announced on Thursday morning (June 5) that she will release the long-rumored Veronica Electronica collection, an album featuring rare and unreleased remixes of songs from her beloved 1998 Ray of Light album. The eight-track LP will be released digitally and on silver vinyl on July 25. The album was previewed on Thursday with the glitchy, thumping deep cut 'Skin (The Collaboration Remix Edit).' According to a release, Veronica Electronica was originally meant to be a remix companion to Ray of Light, but was sidelined by the success of the original album, which hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200, sold more than 16 million copies and earned four Grammy awards — including best pop album. It also spawned a series of chart hits, including the No. 2 Billboard Hot 100 single 'Frozen,' the No. 5 hit title track, No. 11 single 'The Power of Good-Bye' and 'Nothing Really Matters' (No. 93).
