Wear OS 6 is here, but your Pixel watch isn't getting it first

TL;DR The Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic are the first smartwatches to ship with stable Wear OS 6.
Samsung's new wearables run One UI 8 Watch based on Google's latest platform.
It's unclear if all Wear OS 6 features, like dynamic color theming, are included on Samsung's version.
Samsung has one-upped Google by being the first to roll out the stable version of Wear OS 6. The newly launched Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic are the first smartwatches to come with the latest version of Google's wearable platform right out of the box.
While Google recently launched the first developer preview of Wear OS 6, the final version has yet to arrive on Pixel Watches. Google previously said this would happen in the 'coming months,' but we still don't have a clear answer for when Pixel Watch owners will get the new stable software. Meanwhile, Samsung is skipping the wait with its new Galaxy Watch 8 lineup, which runs One UI 8 Watch based on Wear OS 6.
What exactly this means in terms of features is still a bit of a mystery. In the developer preview of Wear OS 6, we saw a slew of design upgrades thanks to the new Material 3 Expressive language. Wear OS 6 is full of curved buttons, fluid animations, bigger Quick Settings icons, and a dynamic theming system that matches your watch's interface to your chosen watch face. However, it's unclear how much of this is present in Samsung's One UI 8 Watch.
That said, one feature confirmed to be part of One UI 8 Watch is the revamped Tiles UI. Instead of the usual circular or square layouts, Samsung now uses rounded rectangle tiles, something we also spotted in the Wear OS 6 preview.
One UI 8 Watch also comes with a Featured Apps folder for quicker access to your most-used apps and multi-info tiles that let you stack widgets.
Samsung tends to customize Wear OS with its One UI Watch layer, so some of Google's changes may be absent or tweaked to fit Samsung's style. There's no confirmation yet if dynamic theming or Google's preset color palettes (like Peony, Jade, and Indigo) are available on these new Galaxy Watches.
Google is also developing useful features for Wear OS 6, such as Water Lock mode and a better always-on display experience. We hope to hear more about these as Samsung's new watches start reaching users or when Google shares additional rollout details for the software.
We'll have more answers for you when we have the new smartwatches in for review.

Chrome for Android users can now choose which end of the screen the address bar is on

Andy Walker / Android Authority TL;DR Chrome for Android's bottom address bar is rolling out widely. Users now have the option to keep the bar at the top of the screen or lower it to the bottom. Google is giving Android Chrome users another way to customize their mobile browsing experience. Announced last month, the Android browser is finally getting a bottom address bar to make navigation a little more mobile-friendly. That update is now rolling out widely. If you've been waiting for Chrome on Android to get a bottom bar, today is the day your wishes have been answered. In the latest version (version 138) of Chrome, you should now see an option to move the address bar to the bottom of the page. If you're not seeing it yet, you may have to go into App info and force stop the app a couple of times. Once it's available, you should see a notification near the address bar as soon as you start browsing. This notification reads, 'You can touch and hold to move the address bar to the bottom.' Following those directions will open a new menu where you can 'Move address bar to the bottom' or 'Copy link.' Tapping on the former will automatically move the bar to the bottom of the screen. There's also a second way to move the address bar. This alternative method requires you to tap on the three-dot menu, scroll down to Settings, and find the new 'Address bar' option. Tapping on this option will open a page where you can choose top or bottom. We have already tried the new bottom browser experience and found it to be a bit of a mixed bag. Our own Andy Walker notes some of the quirks keeping this experience from being as good as it should be. Of course, if you don't like having a bottom address bar, you can continue using the traditional layout. But it's always nice to have the option to switch. Got a tip? Talk to us! Canva's CCO Rob Giglio on Business Growth and the Future of Work

Canva is growing fast in the business world and it's down to two things: new 'doc types' and business features, according to Chief Customer Officer Rob Giglio. Giglio says Canva Sheets and Canva AI are allowing users to create different types of content like whiteboards, documents, presentations and social media posts in one place. This is streamlining workflows for companies. 'Canva has introduced the kind of features that businesses expect and need, like Single Sign-On (SSO), brand kits, user provisioning and approval workflows,' said Giglio. 'These factors are really driving [Canva's] adoption into businesses.' Canva's AI is broad, going beyond text prompts. Giglio said Canva AI uses multiple models for different experiences, citing the popular background remover as an example. Other AI features include text generation, whiteboards to presentations, language translation, image scaling and video creation via Google's V3. Canva Code even allows users to build widgets and interactive experiences via text prompts. Looking forward, Giglio is most excited about product innovation around marketing and sales workflows. He says Canva Sheets is making the entire marketing process from creation to analysis better, with the recent acquisition of Magic Brief for content performance data. Video editing is another area of focus, with increasing adoption for social media and marketing. 'We like to think of it as where creativity and productivity meet,' Giglio said, highlighting Canva's broad but effective features for different business functions. Finally, Giglio said Canva is committed to the future workforce. He noted that AI, cloud platforms and multi-device access are now expected by the next generation entering the workforce and Canva wants to be the platform of choice as businesses adapt to these changing demands.

The program will start by offering free AI training courses to every Pittsburgh resident; the new AI investment and program coincides with President Trump heading to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh to talk about AI investment in Pennsylvania on Tuesday. Earlier this year, Alphabet, Google's parent company, said it would be spending $75 billion in 2025, primarily on data centers and technical infrastructure to support its AI ambitions. Google's Gemini AI model competes with a number of other models, including OpenAI's ChatGPT and Grok from xAI. Google's $25 billion for AI infrastructure also comes a day after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the company behind Facebook and Instagram would be spending hundreds of billions of dollars on AI data centers. Alphabet is also currently feeling heat from U.S. regulators, with two federal antitrust lawsuits hanging over the company.
