PH men's tennis team sweeps Davis Cup, gets promoted to Group III

The Philippine Men's National Tennis Team was promoted to Group III of the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone as they completed a sweep of the Group IV games in the tournament held last July 16 to 19 in Malaysia.
Pooled in Group B with Qatar, Kuwait, and Pacific Oceania, the Philippines finished on top of the group after a perfect 3-0 run.
As the group's top finisher, the Philippines faced Group A second placer Kyrgyzstan for one of the slots for promotion. Eventually, the Filipinos won 2-0 in the game to move up to Group III.
Aside from the Philippines, Malaysia was also promoted.
The Philippine team is composed of AJ Lim, Jed Olivarez, Francis Alcantara, Ruben Gonzales, and Arthur Craig Pantino.

The Philippine Women's National Football Team Filipinas will play against Australia, South Korea, and Iran in the AFC Women's Asian Cup in March 2026. The draw for the Asian Cup was held on Tuesday. The Filipinas, along with the three other teams, will form Group A. Australia is ranked 15th in the FIFA Women's world rankings, while South Korea is at 21st. The Philippines is ranked 41st in the world, while Iran is at no. 68. The Asian Cup has three groups, with North Korea, China, Bangladesh, and Uzbekistan comprising Group B, while Group C has Japan, Vietnam, India, and Chinese Taipei. Only the top two teams of each group and the two best-ranked third placers will advance to the knockout round. The Asian Cup also serves as a qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.
