Realme GT 8 and GT 8 Pro to launch together, here's when

GSM Arena24-07-2025
Realme launched the GT 7 Pro in China back in November of last year, and the non-Pro GT7 only in April. This strategy is set to change for their successors, however, if a new rumor from China pans out.
According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, both the GT 8 and the GT 8 Pro will launch together in October. The Pro model is rumored to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, which itself is launching in September.
The Realme GT 8 Pro is also said to have competitive specs for its screen and battery, and a periscope telephoto camera. A previous leak said the handset would sport a "2K" resolution screen with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, and a battery over 7,000 mAh in capacity with support for 100W wired charging. The periscope telephoto camera was rumored to have 200 MP resolution.
So, all in all, the GT 8 Pro is looking like a good follow-up to its predecessor, we expect more details about it to be leaking in the coming weeks. Realme GT 7 Pro

New rumor claims Qualcomm's chip with model number SM8845 may be called Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

Qualcomm is hosting the Snapdragon Summit next month, where it's expected to introduce its new flagship chip, which will power the majority of the Android flagships next year. The chip reportedly has model number SM8850 and will either be called the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 or Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2. There have also been rumors of another high-end Snapdragon chip, having model number SM8845, and according to popular leakster Digital Chat Station, it may be called Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. Note that this is not the Snapdragon 8s Gen 5, which would succeed the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will sit above the Snapdragon 8s Gen 5 but will be a tier below the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. If this rumor is true, it marks a significant shift in Qualcomm's naming convention because after launching the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship chip, Qualcomm adopted a new naming convention, and what was expected to be called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 was introduced as the Snapdragon 8 Elite instead. Regardless of what the SM8845 SoC will be called, it's unclear if it will go official at the Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii next month alongside the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC or will be introduced later. Oppo Find X9 (or Find X9 Plus) specs leak

Vlad, 01 August 2025 A couple of days ago, specs for the upcoming Oppo Find X9 Pro got outed in China, and today the same prolific source who goes by Digital Chat Station on Weibo is back with details about another device in the series. We'd call this the Find X9, but a rumor from May claimed there will actually be four phones in this lineup, and the 'vanilla' Find X9 would get a 6.3-inch screen, while a new Find X9 Plus would have a 6.59" panel. Oppo Find X8 So DCS could very well be talking about the Plus model here, as he does mention a 6.59-inch LIPO OLED flat screen with "1.5K" resolution and symmetrical bezels. The device will be powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 SoC, and it has a metal frame, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and a 7,000 mAh battery with support for 50W wireless charging. A 50 MP periscope telephoto will be one of the cameras on offer, but the others haven't been detailed this time around. The Oppo Find X9, Find X9 Plus, and Find X9 Pro are all rumored to be launching in October, one year after their predecessors. Source (in Chinese) | Via
