We are counting down to the start of the 2025 regular season for the Arizona Cardinals, and that is less than four weeks away. They will open the season on the road against the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 7. That is 22 days away.
As we count down the remaining days of the offseason, let's look at who has worn that number uniform over the years for the Cardinals.

Running back Michael Carter enters his third season with the team wearing No. 22. He is battling to make the team.
Jefferson was pretty good, but there is no argument here. Wehrli, a Hall of Famer, is the best No. 22 the Cardinals have had.

Kellen Moore reveals update on Taysom Hill that will only make Saints fans worry even more

Kellen Moore reveals update on Taysom Hill that will only make Saints fans worry even more originally appeared on A to Z Sports. The New Orleans Saints will have to wait quite awhile to see one of their fan favorite players on the field this season. Meanwhile, another important piece at his position is also dealing with a recovery process that will keep him out of action for the foreseeable future. Taysom Hill and Foster Moreau injury update According to head coach Kellen Moore, both tight end Foster Moreau and Taysom Hill are not close to a return to the field. Rather, "they're not ready to get on the field any time soon", via Moore. The depth at TE for Moore's offense is a notable concern due to these injuries. View the to see embedded media. Juwan Johnson is the clear starter for the Saints at the position. Jack Stoll is set for a legitimate offensive impact as of now, though. Stoll signed with the Saints this offseason after spending last year with Moore on the Philadelphia Eagles. The experienced TE is more of a blocking threat than a consistent receiving option. Behind Stoll, there is complete unknown for New Orleans. Whoever earns the third TE roster spot Moliki Matavao, Treyton Welch, and Michael Jacobson will be a lot closer to the field than many fans would probably prefer. None of them have notable NFL experience or production. Keep in mind - Moore's offense is one that welcomes two TE sets, particularly to help the play action passing game find success. With Moreau and Hill set to miss quite a chunk of regular season time potentially, making a move for more TE depth may be a necessity for the Saints. View the to see embedded media. NFL preseason live updates: Caleb Williams debuts under head coach Ben Johnson, Tyler Shough starts for Saints

[NFL preseason schedule | NFL team feeds | NFL preseason live blog] The second week of NFL preseason action is in full swing, and there are plenty of storylines to follow. Caleb Williams is starting for the Bears on national television Sunday night vs. the Bills, our first glimpse of the 2024 No. 1 overall draft pick under new head coach Ben Johnson. That game headlines Frank Schwab's top QB situations to watch this week. Later, Tyler Shough gets the start for the Saints as he competes with Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener for QB1 in New Orleans. He threw for 165 yards on 15-of-22 passing in the Saints' preseason opener. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] On Saturday, Giants rookie Jaxson Dart put up another impressive preseason performance coming off his gem last week against the Bills. On Saturday against the Jets, he completed 14 of 16 passes for 137 yards and a touchdown to go along with a TD run. Could starting QB Russell Wilson be hearing footsteps? Rookie Dillon Gabriel saw his first action of preseason Saturday, and it was an up-and-down day for the third-round pick. He finished 13-of-18 for 143 yards passing but also turned it over twice. He thew a pick 6 and also lost a fumble on a botched handoff exchange. He was otherwise solid and in control in the passing game. Fellow rookie QB Shedeur Sanders sat out due to an oblique injury. Much will be made in the coming days, especially on the talking heads shows, about his in-game comments of the QB competition he's in with Sanders. Gabriel later clarified he was referring to the media, not Sanders. Elsewhere in the QB world, the Colts battle for the starting job continues to heat up, with Daniel Jones ending up 7 of 11 passes for 101 yards while Anthony Richardson competed 6 of 11 passes for 73 yards. Those two appear to be neck-and-neck for the starting job, and head coach Shane Steichen told reporters he plans to decide the starter "very soon."
