Wells made official visits to Texas, Ole Miss and Auburn. He has cancelled a scheduled visit Mississippi State on June 20. The 6-5, 290-pound Wells is ranked No. 291 in the On3 Industry Rankings. He becomes Texas' 12th commitment in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
'I'll get developed here. I know they will take real good care of me, and I'll have a chance to make it to that next level—the NFL. That is where I want to be,' Wells told On3.
The Petal, MS native told OrangeBloods.com 'Texas, I love it here. It's big in Texas, I'm not going to lie. I love the players, the coaches, the culture. The culture is going to be good.'
Wells said the highlight of his Texas visit was meeting the people inside the program. 'The coaches. Just the players, too,' Wells said. 'It's good people around here.'

Alex Foster, Baylor Football Player, Dead At 18 After Shooting

Alex Foster, an 18-year-old member of the Baylor University football team, has died after a violent shooting in his hometown. The news was reported on social media by Mississippi-based reporter and Magnolia Shine podcast host Blake Levine. According to ESPN, Foster was from Greenville, Mississippi, and redshirted the 2024 season at Baylor, going through practice this spring. The local police department confirmed they responded to reports of a shooting at 12:11 a.m. Wednesday (May 28) where an unidentified single male victim was found in his car with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital. No arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing. Advertisement 'We are heartbroken by the unexpected loss of Alex Foster, a beloved teammate, friend, and a cherished part of the Baylor Family,' relayed Vice President and Director of Athletics Mack B. Rhoades, IV and Head Football Coach Dave Aranda, in a joint statement. 'Our thoughts and prayers are with Alex's family and all those who loved him. In this time of deep sorrow, we draw strength from our faith and the unwavering love of the Baylor community. Our immediate focus is on supporting Alex's family and his teammates through this devastating loss. Alex's memory will forever be a part of Baylor University.' Aranda also made a separate, personal statement on social media. Advertisement 'Alex was a beloved member of our Baylor Family, and we are devastated by this loss. In his time at Baylor, he made a long-lasting impact on all of us in the program. Our hearts are broken, and our prayers are with his family, friends and all those who loved him so deeply.' Sports Illustrated reported Foster was expected to play a role in the two deep on the defensive line this fall. According to CNN, the shooting was part of a 'surge in violent crimes' in the city, where Mayor Errick D. Simmons issued a curfew from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. to stop the 'senseless killings.' 'It's to protect the lives and well-being of every Greenville resident in light of this growing crisis. … we cannot stand by and let violence rip through our neighborhoods. Enough is enough,' he exclaimed. Advertisement VIBE sends our condolences to the family, friends, and teammates of Alex Foster. More from Sign up for Vibe's Newsletter. Texas Predicted to Land 4-Star Recruit Over In-State Rival

Texas Predicted to Land 4-Star Recruit Over In-State Rival originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Texas Longhorns are in position to battle for national championships largely due to their ability to land some of the most talented high school players. Advertisement They continue to make pushes for some of the top recruits in the 2026 class, including EDGE Jamarion Carlton, whom they brought in for an official visit on June 6, marking their sixth time hosting him. However, they certainly have some competition, as he previously visited with the Texas Tech Red Raiders on April 25 and has another visit scheduled with the Baylor Bears on June 20. Luckily, for the Longhorns, though, signs are pointing in the right direction, because on Thursday, On3's Josh McCuistion logged an expert prediction for Texas to land Carlton. Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Heitman-Imagn Images It would certainly be a big win, as Carlton is coming off his best season for Temple (Texas) High School, accumulating 57 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, five sacks, 13 hurries, three pass deflections and one forced fumble in 10 games. Advertisement That's helped turn him into one of the most sought-after recruits this cycle, as On3 Industry Rankings place him as a four-star prospect, the No. 8 EDGE, the No. 4 player in Texas and the No. 43 player in the nation. He would certainly be a big addition for Sarkisian's already very strong 2026 class, which features a total of 13 commitments, ranking No. 6 in the SEC and No. 13 in the nation. It would also be a big win considering the Longhorns are battling two in-state programs in the Red Raiders and the Bears for one of the best recruits in Texas. Michigan Insider Delivers Striking Verdict on Bryce Underwood Before 2025 Season

Michigan Insider Delivers Striking Verdict on Bryce Underwood Before 2025 Season originally appeared on Athlon Sports. There's no doubt that the Michigan Wolverines have a strong tradition of landing talented high school recruits, and one of their biggest wins in recent years has been Class of 2025 quarterback Bryce Underwood. Advertisement However, it was more than simply landing, as they had to flip him from the LSU Tigers, where he was committed from Jan. 6, 2024, to Nov. 21, 2024 Now, there is a lot of hype surrounding Underwood, and in a video posted to the "On3" YouTube channel, Chris Balas, senior editor of The Wolverine, revealed what many are seeing from the quarterback. 'Bryce Underwood, from practice one to practice 15 and what he brings to the table in terms of physical skills, is like nothing anybody's ever seen here before... People who have been here for 35, 40 years say he is by far the best freshman quarterback, true freshman they've seen," Balas said. That's certainly a positive sign for Michigan, considering that On3 Industry Rankings placed him as a five-star prospect and the No. 1 player in the nation from the 2025 recruiting class. Advertisement Throughout the team's offseason workouts and practices, he's also impressed several members of the coaching staff, including pass game coordinator and wide receiver coach Ron Bellamy. "He's smart, man," Bellamy said. "The way Bryce attacks football, man, he's the first one, last one. He's a sponge. Always wants to learn, hanging around the receivers. Great leader." Michigan Wolverines quarterback Bryce Han / USA TODAY Network via Imagn Images However, it remains to be seen if Underwood is ready enough to be Michigan's starter to open up the 2025 season, as they host the New Mexico Lobos for a Week 1 matchup on Aug. 30. In an article for Athlon Sports, Steven Lassan predicted he will, which would mark just the fourth time in program history that Michigan starts a true freshman quarterback, following Rick Leach (1975), Chad Henne (2004) and Tate Forcier (2009).
