Waiter told us 'someone smells lovely' after I wore DKNY perfume - get it for £5

Daily Record18-07-2025
The second time I wore my new DKNY perfume a random person said 'it smelt lovely'
There are few better compliments you can get than being told 'you smell good'. That's what happened to me at dinner on holiday when the waiter came to serve our table and said 'someone smells lovely'. Three days before, I had treated myself to a new DKNY perfume at Heathrow duty free, which was the culprit for the compliment.
Not only do I recommend the fresh, floral smell of the Be Delicious Fresh Blossom, but I've found a way to beat the £20 price I paid for it, and chop a further £15 off. A nifty deal stack drops the long-lasting perfume down to only £5.
Listed at the same rate I paid at the airport, Superdrug sells the 30ml for £20. The shopping tip comes in with TopCashback, anyone who buys the eau de parfum through the money-saving site's link will bag money back into their account, which is what drops the price down to a few pounds.
Described as 'floreal' the DKNY scent is one of the brand's most iconic smells, less sharp than its original Green Apple one, but still displayed in its distinct apple-like bottle. The design and smell has been around for decades, from the early 2000s.

Product Description
This is the first time I've personally tried the sweeter and more subtle Blossom eau de parfum. I am a repeat buyer of the original DKNY Be Delicious scent, which can be found at The Perfume Shop from £47.
I buy a bottle for myself each time I see it on offer. It just happens this time at Heathrow's sale rack there wasn't the original green apple scent.
Instead, the Be Delicious Blossom resembles a pink lady apple, and is a lot fresher, in my opinion. The only flaw I've found in the two weeks I've had it, is the design of the bottle. Unlike other scents, the lid on this one is much harder to open.
With notes of grapefruit and apricot, a few sprays lasted me all evening without being too overpowering. It's also one of those perfumes where if you spray on clothes, the next day when popping away or in the wash the smell will linger.
I'm not the only person to love the scent. On the review section of Superdrug's site it says that '95% of commenters would recommend this to a friend.' One person said: "This is a regular perfume purchase. Sometimes for myself, sometimes as a gift.
"Perfect fragrance for spring/summer. Never regret it." Another shopper highlighted the durability of the scent, and said: "At the time of purchase this was such a good price. Bought as a perfume for work - fresh smell and lasts all day. Would buy again."
I've found the perfume to last a long time when wearing it, a couple of spritz on my wrists and neck lasts me all day. However, not all the commenters at Superdrug agreed. "It fades quickly but, I am happy I tried DKNY. I prefer DKNY Nectar Love", said one shopper.
The scent the above shopper pointed out, DKNY Nectar Love, can be bought at Amazon for £29.95 for a 100ml. As the name suggests, this perfume is a much sweeter option and has hints of honey throughout.

Britney Spears' 'gorgeous' perfume worth £50 cut to £25 at Boots

The pop star has a line of different fragrances that fans have loved for years - and this one is reduced in price People have said that there is 'nothing not to like' about a pop star's perfume that is now on sale at Boots. The online-only deal has been offered to fans on the fragrance, which is decades-old and is popular worldwide. Boots is running an deal offering half price on Britney Spears' perfume range, including Fantasy. The 50% deal covers all sizes of the pretty pink perfume, including the 100ml version that is usually worth £49 but now available for £24.50. The health and beauty store's website describes Fantasy as "alive with enchantment and rich with the thrill of the chase." It blends red lychee, golden quince, and kiwi with jasmine Petals, white chocolate, and sensual woods into a "light, feminine scent." The fruity scent is presented in a vibrant pink bottle accented with Swarovski crystals. The original version of Fantasy has been a fan favourite since it was released as one of Britney's early fragrance deals in 2005. It has gone on to inspire other versions such as Fantasy Twist, Circus Fantasy and more - which all have subtle scent differences. There are similar perfumes available elsewhere such as Katy Perry's "sweet and playful" Purr Eau de Parfum on sale for £15.95 at Amazon. Also, Superdrug has an offer (at the time of writing) for pop star Sabrina Carpenter's Cherry Baby EDP for £20.99. But, the offer for the Toxic singer's fragrance is something shoppers have been raving about for years - going off the hundreds of glowing reviews by Boots customers. One said: "This has been my favourite perfume for such a long time. The smaller one is perfect for your bag." Another added: "Perfect sweet floral smell and lasts all day. I have had this for years since it came out, love it." A third put: "I've tried quite a few Britney fragrances and I have to say I've liked all of them - and this one is no exception! It's really lovely and not too heavy for the daytime. Nothing not to like!" However, not all shoppers were happy. One claimed: "This was always my go to perfume but it does not smell like it used to, it's not as strong candied smell it's more a floral smell now that does not last." Another suggested: "This does not last long at all." A third also warned: "Not good at all. The smell does not stay at all!" And one more recently put: "This was always my go-to perfume but it does not smell like it used to. It's not [got] a strong candied smell, it's more a floral smell now that does not last." Despite these comments, someone else branded the perfume "absolutely gorgeous," while a second shared: "This is one of my favourite scents. It's sweet and smells like candy. It lasts throughout the day, and I always get compliments with it."

Superdrug's £13 alternative to Catherine Zeta-Jones' favourite Tom Ford perfume 'My favourite perfume. The scent lasts forever and reminds me of hot summer nights' Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones has revealed her favourite fragrance and shoppers can buy it from high-end retailers (Image: Getty Images) Sometimes, when we stumble upon a perfume, we know it's a special one if it takes us back to a specific time or place. Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, who is known for her elegance and beauty, has revealed her favourite fragrance that does exactly that - and it can be bought from high-end retailers. The actress and singer, known for starring in Chicago and The Legend of Zorro, revealed in an interview with Glamour back in 2021 that one of her favourite scents was Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge. As it suggests in the name, the perfume contains Jasmine, which, according to the actress, "evokes such wonderful memories for [her]". During the interview, Catherine said: "We have a lot of jasmine around the property in Mallorca, and I always take my last swim as the sun is going down. That's when the jasmine really starts to flourish and you can smell it." Tom Ford Jasmin Rogue comes in a deep red bottle with a gold front, which evokes glamour. It's easy to see why a Hollywood star like Catherine Zeta-Jones loves a scent like this. If you are looking for a similar scent but from an alternative retailer - and more importantly, for a more affordable price, there are other options out there. A 50ml bottle of Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge could cost you in the range of £188.70 to £222 from retailers such as John Lewis, Selfridges and from the Tom Ford website (Image: Selfridges) The NOU Jasmin Perfume for Women EDP 50ml, for example, was £27.10 but is now £11.20 at Superdrug, providing a £15.90 saving for beauty enthusiasts. The NOU Jasmin Perfume combines 'captivating' jasmine notes for a 'floral and alluring scent that lasts' according to the retailer. While there are no reviews of the perfume on Superdrug's website, there are on Amazon's site, which is currently selling the perfume for a marginally higher price of £12.99. So far, NOU Jasmin Perfume on Amazon has received a rating of 3.6 out of five stars based on 64 global reviews. "Love the fragrance," one happy reviewer said. "Exactly Jasmin smell. If you compare this to south India wedding, this smell you will get commonly as Jasmine flower we use in wedding for decorations/ for hair etc". But not everyone was pleased with the perfume and gave it a three-star rating. They reviewed: "Smells nice and a bit like jasmine but the perfume doesn't last long". However, another customer said it had a "very gentle scent", while another said it was "perfect". Elsewhere, those looking for a jasmine scent for a decent price could also purchase the Yardley English Jasmine Eau de Toilette 125ml from Boots, originally priced at £18 but now £6 cheaper at £12. The Boots fragrance has a floral scent, with notes of lemon and mandarin, mixed with 'delicate' notes of calamondin and frangipani, which complements the rich floral jasmine scent. The fragrance has received a rating of 3.9 out of five stars and 29 reviews. One customer was seemingly happy with their purchase and reviewed: "The scent is sooooooo good the citrusy floral scent just captures you. "The scent last long for about 3 hours and I love the packaging as it gives a rich look. It is also very cheap and worth the money and also love the fact that it is vegan friendly so I can recommend to my vegan friends". Like Catherine Zeta-Jones, this perfume evoked memories for one shopper. In their review, they penned: "Yardleys is a brand that reminds me of my Grandma, yet it's a brand I have grown to love over the years. "This scent is beautiful, not too strong that it overpowers the room but fresh enough. I have been wearing this perfume for the last month and have had several compliments. "This is a brand I have bought before and will definitely continue to buy. This product is value for money and I've even heard this particular scent be compared to Gucci. The packaging is good quality as well as a well made bottle." But the perfume didn't suit everyone. One shopper claimed: "The perfume isn't as strong as others nor does it last as long as I would have liked it to, the scent doesn't resemble jasmine, it's more like a wood smell, however the size of the bottle is good value for money, + it's vegan so it works well for a wider range of people". However, other customers were of a different view. This reviewer said: "I absolutely love Yardley London English Jasmine Eau de Toilette! The scent is fresh, floral, and beautifully delicate, making me feel elegant and confident every time I wear it. "It has the perfect balance—light enough for everyday use but still long-lasting. The jasmine notes are so natural and refreshing, not too overpowering, just the right amount of sophistication. "The packaging is also lovely, simple yet classy. Plus, I appreciate that it's made with 94% natural ingredients and is vegan & cruelty-free. It's truly one of my favourite fragrances!" Catherine Zeta-Jones isn't the only one to love Tom Ford Jasmin Rogue. While there are no reviews on the Selfridges and Tom Ford website, on John Lewis's website, the perfume has received a rating of five out of five stars based on eight reviews. One customer said: "My favourite perfume. The scent lasts forever and reminds me of hot summer nights." Another described it as "truly amazing and unique". And while one praised it as "refreshing and lasting", they had an issue with one thing. They added: "Absolutely love it. It's expensive but well worth it. However, not sure about the bottle's design, could do better; the bottle is masculine looking whereas the scent is delicate." I think it is way overpriced for what you get."
