Wait, did Parul Gulati wear a braided-hair dress to Cannes red carpet?
Entrepreneur and actor Parul Gulati, in a head-turning sartorial move, wore a braided-hair dress for her Cannes red carpet debut. She attended the 'Eddington' screening at the ongoing international film festival on 16 May in a strapless dress stitched with black hair braids. The eccentric piece of clothing (or, may we say wearable hair) boasted a sultry sweetheart neckline and an asymmetrical hem. The braids were beautifully sculpted to hug her in a bodycon silhouette. The braids cascaded down like fringes towards the hem.The dress was designed by fashion stylist and designer Mohit Rai with Riddhi Bansal, while Gulati herself came up with the concept.Gulati's peculiar outfit is an ode to her business, Nish Hair – a retail platform selling hair toppers, clip-in extensions and wigs made from 100% human hair.

The outfit took over a month to bring to life, involved a team of 12 skilled artisans, and took long hours of detailed craftsmanship. In terms of styling, she let the dress steal the show. She ditched a neckpiece, tied her hair in a bun, and simply flaunted a pair of dazzling earrings with minimal make-up.Ahead of attending the prestigious film festival, Gulati spoke to India Today and revealed that she manifested her dream of being invited to Cannes.

When asked about the look that she was planning for the occasion, the Haq Se actor had said, "Firstly, I didn't want to take any pressure. I am trying to wear something that would be me, that represents who I am. When you see that outfit, you should feel that only Parul could have done that. So I will stick to that, and I also plan to use a lot of hair extensions from my brand."The fashion world is currently obsessed with braided hair. Remember Schiaparelli's braided hair necktie that even Karan Johar loves!

After Rana Daggubati, Kajol slams paparazzi culture as ‘disrespectful' and intrusive
Bollywood actor Kajol has slammed paparazzi culture as disrespectful and intrusive. In an interview with a portal, Kajol — star of the upcoming horror film Maa — took issue with being constantly tailed by photographers, and how it violates an actor's personal space. 'I am a little conscious with paps,' Kajol told Bollywood Hungama. 'I think there are certain places where they shouldn't be. Like I find it very strange when they run after actors at someone's funeral and ask for photos. I find that odd and a little disrespectful. I find it strange that you cannot even go for lunch.' In the past, several film celebrities (including Kajol) have expressed their annoyance with pap culture. A 'pap' or paparazzo is a photographer engaged to click pictures of celebrities, often milling outside airports, gyms and restaurants. While some are invited or handed 'tip-offs' by an actor's publicity team, there are also those who turn up unannounced or behave indecorously. Most recently, actor Rana Daggubati lost his cool after being pursued by photographers at the airport. A video went viral of Daggubati, a major Telugu star who features in the Hindi-Telugu web series Rana Naidu, accidentally dropping his phone after a stranger bumped into him. The actor, waving his hand in displeasure, looked annoyed at the snappers who continued filming him. Speaking about the airport incident, Daggubati later told India Today, 'I didn't call them (the photographers). I don't like it. I don't like them in my personal space, and I have been very vocal about it. They come outside my home, which I have respectfully told them [not to do]. And even at airports, they still turn up. I think it's pretty annoying.'

Alia Kapoor? Reddit deduces Alia Bhatt has legally changed name after marriage to Ranbir Kapoor; here's 'proof'
Alia Bhatt made her red carpet debut at the Cannes Film Festival last month, wowing fans with her chic appearance as the L'Oreal brand ambassador at the festival. The actor recently shared a vlog of herself getting ready for the moment, giving a sneak peek at some behind-the-scenes moments. What caught the internet's eye was how the hotel where she stayed at addressed her as 'Alia Kapoor', sparking speculations that the actor may have legally changed her name. (Also read: Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt's new Mumbai bungalow looks ready) The vlog, posted on Alia's official YouTube channel, shows the actor in her hotel room on the French Riviera. At one point in the video, Alia gets dressed and has her hair and makeup done by her team. In the background, the hotel's message for her is visible on an LCD. The message is addressed to 'Dear Alia Kapoor', implying that Alia has adopted the Kapoor surname since her wedding to Ranbir. The screengrab of the moment was shared on Reddit by some eagle-eyed fans. The top comment to the post read, "Must've taken her husband's name and kept Bhatt for her public-facing career since she is widely known by that surname." Others argued that the hotel may have erroneously written that. But Redditors said that since international hotels use booking IDs for such messages, it was likely Alia had legally changed her name. "How will a hotel in France know her husband's surname? 🤷🏼♀️ anyway, hotel booking is done according to your legal name on ID's," reasoned one Reddit user. While the internet debated the logic behind Alia changing her name - some dissed patriarchy while others called it her choice - many felt that Alia needs to remain a Bhatt as it's a 'brand' now. "But she's always be Alia Bhatt to me, naam mein wajan aagaya hai abhi (the name carries some heft). It's a brand name now," argued one. Another harked back to Alia's appearance on Koffee With Karan a couple of years ago and asked, "I thought it was "Alia Bhatt Kapoor" as she mentioned it on KWK. Ranveer got very happy and said it's got a ring to it." Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot in April 2022 after years of dating. The two met on the sets of their 2022 film Brahmastra. Alia and Ranbir welcomed their daughter, Raha, in November 2022. Alia will be next seen on the screen in YRF Spy Universe's Alpha, the first female-led spy universe film. It also stars Sharvari.
