June Mar Fajardo wins 12th Best Player of the Conference award
San Miguel's June Mar Fajardo is once again the PBA Best Player of the Conference.
Fajardo on Sunday notched his 12th BPC Award, this time for the 2025 PBA Philippine Cup.
At the end of the semifinals, Fajardo topped the statistical points race with an average of 39.6 SPs.
He had averages of 16.0 points, 13.95 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game.
Fajardo bested his teammate CJ Perez, Robert Bolick of NLEX, Jason Perkins of Phoenix, and Zavier Lucero of Magnolia.
The Beermen currently lead the series, 2-1.

New Zealand led by as much as 18, 55-37, before back-to-back baskets from June Mar Fajardo and Kevin Quiambao closed the first half. The Philippines, however, outscored the Tall Blacks in the third period, 27-19, before Gilas inched closer to within three, 85-82, with less than four minutes in the fourth period. However, New Zealand made a late rally to eventually clinch the victory. Justin Brownlee led Gilas with 37 points, while Jordan Ngatai led the Tall Blacks with 22 points. With memories of a heartbreaking loss from their previous meeting still fresh, the Gilas Pilipinas national men's basketball team is gearing up to turn the tables on Chinese Taipei this time around as the Filipinos open their campaign in the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup. Gilas takes on Chinese Taipei on Wednesday at 2 a.m. (Philippine time) looking to jumpstart its regional tournament run with a strong performance led by usual suspects Justin Brownlee, Scottie Thompson, CJ Perez, June Mar Fajardo, and Dwight Ramos. That loss was the Philippines' first defeat to Chinese Taipei since 2013. That's why their impending rematch at the Asia Cup will carry added weight, not just as the opening game of their campaign but as a shot at redemption. Gilas caught a break as sharpshooter Lu Chun-hsiang was left out of Chinese Taipei's official Asia Cup roster, though the East Asian side will have US-based brothers Robert and Adam Hinton to take the lead. "Taiwan beat us the last time we played them and they have two young Division 1 players and those guys are making impact on that team," Gilas head coach Tim Cone said a week ago. "They definitely have the personnel, it wasn't a fluke that they beat us. So we have to be prepared for them." Gilas is heading to Asia Cup armed with two morale-boosting wins against the Macau Black Bears and Jordan in their friendly matches. The Filipinos erased a 21-point deficit to eke out a 103-98 win against the Black Bears last Monday with Brownlee, Ramos, Perez, and AJ Edu fueling the comeback in the absence of Fajardo and Calvin Oftana. ?They then carved a 75-61 victory over Jordan in another tune-up game in Jeddah. The world no. 34 Filipinos are now hoping to translate this momentum when they meet no. 73 Chinese Taipei anew. ?Completing Gilas' Asia Cup crew are Chris Newsome, Jamie Malonzo, Japeth Aguilar, Kevin Quiambao, and Carl Tamayo. Fajardo and Oftana are also both listed on the roster but there is some uncertainty about their availability as the two players sat out their game against Macau to recover from a grueling finals series between their mother clubs, San Miguel and TNT, in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup. Meralco Bolts to represent PBA anew in expanded EASL

(Photo: PBA Media) The Meralco Bolts have been named the sole representative of the PBA in the 2025-2026 East Asia Super League (EASL), marking the third straight time the franchise will suit up in the regional club tournament. Meralco made its EASL debut in 2023 alongside another PBA bet in TNT. That edition saw the Bolts rack up one win against five losses to bow out of the Final Four run. The club returned last year and collected two wins against the Macau Black Bears and Busan KCC Egis, but suffered three straight defeats, including a heartbreaking double overtime loss to the New Taipei Kings, in the next games to end its campaign. With Meralco's participation now sealed, the EASL 12-team cast has been completed. The Bolts are drawn in Group B together with the Black Bear as well as last edition's Final Four teams in Taoyuan Pauian Pilots and Ryukyu Golden Kings as EASL now features 12 teams from 10 last edition. Group A consists of Hong Kong Eastern, Seoul SK Knights, Taipei Fubon Braves, and Utsonomiya Brex while Group C has Alvark Tokyo, Changwon LG Sakers, New Taipei Kings, and Ulaanbaatar Xac Broncos.
