Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel to attend 'Khedut Sammelan' as part of 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel tomorrow
Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], June 11 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will preside over the Khedut Sammelan to be held on Thursday in Bardoli -- the 'Karma Bhumi' of Sardar Saheb -- as part of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Saheb is being celebrated across the country with various programs embodying the vision of 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat', according to a release from the CMO.
Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, held across various states from May 29 to June 12, is paving the way for making farmers and the agriculture sector truly Atmanirbhar.
The Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan was launched by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on 29th May from Odisha. The campaign will now conclude in the presence of the Union Agriculture Minister on Thursday, 12th June, at Bardoli -- the 'Karma Bhumi' of Sardar Saheb -- along with the Khedut Sammelan, the release added.
Fulfilling the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for AtmaNirbhar Krishi and AtmaNirbhar Kisan, the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan has aimed to bring agricultural technology to villages and create awareness among farmers about the proper use of micro-nutrients and other technologies. Under this campaign, more than 4 lakh farmers across 2,250 rural clusters in 31 districts of Gujarat have been covered.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will e-inaugurate the Centre of Excellence for Horticultural Crops in Porbandar district, the Centre of Excellence for Banana and Vegetables in Petlad taluka, and the Primary Processing Centre which has become operational in Kutch, for the benefit of farmers in the state.
Additionally, the e-inauguration of 14 godowns with a total storage capacity of 25,000 metric tonnes and the e-Foundation Stone Laying of the Centre of Excellence for Sugarcane in Bardoli will also be held during the Khedut Sammelan.
The Khedut Sammelan, organised by the State Government's Department of Agriculture, Farmers' Welfare and Cooperation, will take place on Thursday, 12th June, at 10:00 AM at the Sankari BAPS Mandir Complex in Bardoli. Agriculture Minister Shri Raghavji Bhai Patel will also grace the event, the release added. (ANI)

'The official number of deceased will only be confirmed after DNA testing and identification by authorities. But yes, I have met the surviving passenger,' Shah said. He also said that both the Centre and the state government responded to the tragedy swiftly. 'Within just 10 minutes of the accident, the Government of India received information. I immediately got in touch with the chief minister, the home minister, the home department control room, the civil aviation department, and the civil aviation minister. The Prime Minister also called immediately.' Adding, 'All departments of the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat began coordinated relief and rescue operations without delay.' The survivor's story, though yet to be fully known, has emerged as a symbol of hope amid overwhelming loss. The rest of the rescue and recovery process, however, remains grim. The home minister detailed the coordinated multi-agency response initiated in the immediate aftermath. 'Immediately after the incident, the Gujarat government activated all disaster management units—be it the health department, the fire brigade, or the police department…also coordinated with the CAPF. All agencies worked together to begin relief and rescue operations,' he said. Yet, the intensity of the fire left by the crash was a near-insurmountable barrier. 'Since there were over 1.25 lakh litres of fuel in the aircraft, the temperature rose to such extreme levels that there was no opportunity to rescue anyone,' he explained. After visiting the crash site, Shah offered a situational update: 'The task of retrieving the deceased bodies of the passengers is nearly complete. DNA collection from family members who have already arrived here will be completed in two to three hours.' Efforts to notify and involve next of kin overseas have also been completed, he said, adding, 'For passengers with relatives abroad, information has already been conveyed. Once they arrive, their DNA samples will also be collected. DNA collection from the recovered bodies is also complete.' Shah underscored that Gujarat is equipped to handle the task. 'Around 1,000 DNA tests will need to be conducted here in Gujarat itself. Gujarat has the capacity to conduct all these tests, so there is no need to send samples outside the state. Gujarat's Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and the National Forensic Science University will together complete the testing as quickly as possible, so that the bodies can be handed over to the families.' Apart from identification, the human cost of the tragedy is being addressed through logistical and medical support. 'All arrangements have been made for accommodation, emotional support, and medical care for those who are experiencing trauma or distress due to the tragedy,' he said. A review meeting held earlier in the day helped assess ongoing operations, Shah pointed out. 'In today's review meeting, all the ministers jointly examined the arrangements. The aviation Department has started its investigation. The civil aviation minister has also assured that the inquiry will move forward quickly.' Recognizing the efforts of first responders, Shah added, 'Once again, I want to thank all the agencies involved in rescue and relief for their swift response.' Shah further said that accidents cannot be prevented entirely. 'I must say this—accidents cannot be prevented entirely. But the readiness of an administration is truly tested in moments like this. And today, Gujarat's disaster management preparedness, though tested under tragic circumstances, has proven itself. Viksit Krishi Abhiyan engages over 20 lakh progressive farmers
1 2 Lucknow: The 15-day Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan-2025, aimed to establish dialogue with progressive farmers to boost agricultural productivity, concluded on Thursday. The campaign, which started on May 29 in 75 UP districts, saw participation by public representatives, agricultural scientists and agriculture and allied department officials at 10,125 places. In all, over 2,019,785 progressive farmers were contacted during the campaign. In Baghpat, Delhi Lieutenant Governor BK Saxena and MP Rajkumar Sangwan received information about agricultural technology from scientists. Agriculture scientist Vikas Kumar said that along with sugarcane, farmers can also grow mustard which will double their income. Information was given about preventing the infestation of the sugarcane crop with insects. Saxena planted saplings in the Krishi Vigyan Kendra. Union minister of state for agriculture Ramnath Thakur visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Kallipur, Varanasi. He directed scientists and officials of the agriculture department to reduce the cost of farming and double the farmers' income. He said that the state govt was providing subsidies on modern technologies like PM Kusum Yojana, IPM method, mulching and polyhouse. Farmers were given information about Kharif crop production technology, DSR method, balanced use of fertilizers, nano urea, nano DAP, millets, natural farming, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, PM Kusum, NFSM scheme, agricultural mechanization, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, and production technology of all crops and all other schemes. In Kannauj, information about new technology was given to farmers in 135 gram panchayats. Nagpur: Union minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi , saying nobody takes him seriously. Gadkari was replying to a query on Gandhi's letter to PM Narendra Modi and said, "Many people write to the PM. Don't take Rahul seriously, even Congress party does not take him seriously." On June 10, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha had written a letter to PM Modi raising concerns related to students from marginalized communities. Gadkari was addressing the media in Nagpur on the completion of 11 years of Modi government. Post Operation Sindoor, national security issue has come to the fore and Gadkari was asked about plans to build highways along the country's border with the capability to handle landing and take-off for fighter jets. "We have built 28 such highways where planes can land and take-off. In Rajasthan, we have 300-400km of desert and there too we have constructed roads like this. Speaking about the govt's achievements, Gadkari said, "What we were able to do in the last 11 years, could not be achieved in 60 years. Before 2014, there were only five cities which had metro train services. But now it's almost two dozen. The number of AIIMS has also increased substantially." Gadkari said the Narendra Modi-led govt has taken major strides in overall development of the country. Gadkari said, "You look at North-East, Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, everywhere we have constructed a wide network of roads. In NE, we have constructed major bridges which has helped in ease of transportation." He said having a strong road network, combined with fuel-efficient policies, will help to reduce logistics costs. "If we reduce our logistics costs then India can become very competitive in the export sector," said Gadkari.
