Hello everyone, I'm Dan Lucy on the Ozarks First digital desk.
The Springfield Cardinals are loving the month of June.
In our Cardinals Nation update.
The baby birds have played eight games in the month of June.
And Springfield has won seven of them.
That includes Tuesday night's 8-3 victory over Tulsa.
In that game, Springfield's right fielder Joshua Baez hit two home runs.
The first came in the first inning and gave Springfield a 3-0 lead.
The second came in the fifth inning.
Springfield would beat the Drillers by five.
The Cardinals still own a three game lead on the Texas League North with 11 games left in the first half of the season.
If Springfield can stay in first, it'll earn a playoff ticket.
The Double AA franchise won the first half last year.
And the team has never won back to back playoff tickets in franchise history.

Hello everyone, I'm Dan Lucy on the Ozarks First digital desk. The Springfield Cardinals continue their mastery of the Tulsa Drillers. In our Cardinals Nation update. Springfield shutout Tulsa 3-0 Wednesday, Leonardo Bernal provided the offense with a two run homer. And lefty Brycen Mautz shut down the Tulsa offense. The 23-year old from San Diego, California finally got his first Double AA victory. Mautz's win comes in his tenth start for Springfield. In the game, Mautz struck out nine Drillers in six innings of work. He gave up two hits and no runs, his earned run average is 3.18. The win was long in coming for the southpaw. Mautz went on the injured list in late May, but is back and healthy. And that showed Wednesday night against Tulsa. Springfield has four more games left in this series against Tulsa. SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Springfield Cardinals continued their current home stand against the Tulsa Drillers. And coming into the action, Springfield was 6-1 against the Drillers. In our Cardinals Nation update, Springfield was looking for its third straight victory. And Brycen Mautz gets some defensive help in the first, J.J. Wetherholt flashing the leather at short, gets Kendall Simmons at first. How about some offense, the hottest Cardinal, Leonardo Bernal takes this to right center, over the Cardinal Roofing sign and gone, a two run shot it's 2-0 Springfield. The Cards try to get more in the second, R.J. Yeager singles to right, Trey Paige tries to advance to third, but he's thrown out. Didn't bother Mautz, he would strike out Kole Myers looking, Mautz goes six innings with nine strikeouts. He gets more insurance in the fourth, Paige singles to left, Joshua Baez scores to make it 3-0. Mautz gets his first victory of the season, as Springfield shuts out the Drillers 3-0.
