No June swoon for Springfield Cards

Hello everyone, I'm Dan Lucy on the Ozarks First digital desk. The Springfield Cardinals are loving the month of June. In our Cardinals Nation update. The baby birds have played eight games in the month of June. And Springfield has won seven of them. That includes Tuesday night's 8-3 victory over Tulsa. In that game, Springfield's right fielder Joshua Baez hit two home runs. The first came in the first inning and gave Springfield a 3-0 lead. The second came in the fifth inning. Springfield would beat the Drillers by five. The Cardinals still own a three game lead on the Texas League North with 11 games left in the first half of the season. If Springfield can stay in first, it'll earn a playoff ticket. The Double AA franchise won the first half last year. And the team has never won back to back playoff tickets in franchise history. Springfield home for its playoff run

Hello everyone, I'm Dan Lucy on the Ozarks First digital desk. The Springfield Cardinals will have the home field advantage for their first half playoff run. In our Cardinals Nation update. Springfield will open a two week home stand Tuesday night against the Tulsa Drillers. It's the only time this season that the Cardinals will be at Hammons Field for back to back series. And it couldn't come at a better time. Springfield will open the series with a three game lead on the Texas League North. If the Cardinals are still in first place on June 22nd they would win the North's first half championship. And with that comes a ticket to the Texas League playoffs in September. Tulsa is in for six games, then Corpus Christi is in from June 17th through the 22nd. Springfield took five of the six games played at Tulsa in May. And they have not faced the Hooks yet. Both Tulsa and Corpus Christi are in last place in their respective divisions. For more sports watch Ozarks First news at nine and ten. And I'll see you then. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
