Paige Bueckers continued her electric rookie campaign with another milestone performance. She helped the Dallas Wings clinch a 98-89 victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday night.

Paige Bueckers breaks WNBA rookie record in Dallas Wings' statement win over Phoenix Mercury
Paige Bueckers added another impressive feat to her resume by becoming the fastest WNBA player to reach 250 career points since Seimone Augustus in 2006. She accomplished the milestone in just her 13th game, surpassing Caitlin Clark's mark, who needed 16 games to reach the same total.
Bueckers finished the night with 23 points and six assists on a highly efficient 8-of-11 shooting performance.
The WNBA Rookie of the Month for June and an All-Star starter in her first season, Bueckers has taken the league by storm, and Thursday's game only further validated her elite potential. Her scoring display also marked her seventh 20-point game this season, giving her the third-most 20-point games by a rookie in franchise history.

The Wings, who started the season 1-11, are now 6-13, showing signs of a major turnaround. Their victory over Phoenix was historic in more ways than one. Dallas became the first WNBA team to start four rookies in a game since the Minnesota Lynx did it in 2000.
Aziaha James led the Wings with a sensational 28-point outing, adding six rebounds and six assists while shooting 55.6% from three-point range. 'The Dallas Wings win their 5th of the last 7 games as they defeat the Phoenix Mercury 98-89 👏,' the WNBA posted on X.
James also became just the fifth rookie in league history to post at least 25 points, five rebounds, five assists, and five made threes in a single game.
JJ Quinerly contributed 17 points and a team-high seven assists, continuing the strong showing from Dallas' young core.
For the Mercury, Kahleah Copper dropped a season-high 33 points, knocking down 57.1% of her shots from deep. All-Star forward Satou Sabally added 20 points and two steals in the losing effort.

Pat Cummins defies gravity in stunning catch: 'An athletic effort of the highest class'
Pat Cummins On a day when bowlers dominated and the match hung in tense balance, Pat Cummins lit up the second Test between Australia and West Indies with one of the most breathtaking caught-and-bowled dismissals in recent memory. The Australian captain's stunning effort to remove Keacy Carty was described by commentators as "an athletic effort of the highest class" and will surely be replayed for years to come. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! It happened in a flash. Cummins bowled a good length delivery that jagged back into Carty, who prodded forward with bat away from pad. The ball took a thick inside edge and ballooned in the air, seemingly destined to land safely in the empty space near square mid-wicket. But Cummins wasn't having it. Poll Do you believe Cummins' catch will be remembered as one of the best in cricket history? Yes, absolutely! Maybe, it depends on future performances. No, there have been better catches. Sprinting across to his right, the 32-year-old pacer flung himself forward, stretching out his right hand to pluck the ball just inches above the turf. It was a moment of pure athleticism and instinct. Third umpire Nitin Menon took a brief look before confirming the dismissal: Keacy Carty c and b Cummins 6 (12). WATCH: "It's a brilliant catch. Absolutely terrific from the Australian captain," exclaimed one commentator. "It is an athletic effort of the highest class." The catch capped a solid bowling effort that restricted West Indies to 253 in their first innings, with Nathan Lyon being the pick of the bowlers with 3/75. Brandon King led the West Indies resistance with a stroke-filled 75 off 108 balls. EXCLUSIVE | David Gower on Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah and India's England tour Australia ended the day on 12 for two, having lost both openers - Sam Konstas and Usman Khawaja - early to Jayden Seales. Boston Celtics trade Kristaps Porziņģis and Jrue Holiday as Jaylen Brown rumors swirl louder than ever
(Image Source - Getty Images) The Boston Celtics have turned over a new leaf this offseason making two surprising trades that not only saved them money, but also got some people worried. After releasing Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porziņģis, Boston has avoided an insane amount of tax penalties exceptionally totaling to an insane sum of 180 million dollars. However, another step back, it is possible to say that these actions point to a greater change. The franchise might be at the bleakest point in years as rumors surround Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum recovers. Boston Celtics trade Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porziņģis to save 180 million in tax penalties In a swift series of transactions, Boston moved Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers for Anfernee Simons along with two second-round picks, which helped them get rid of Holiday's $32.4 million salary for 2025-26 and eliminate future contract headaches. Shortly after, they traded Kristaps Porziņģis to the Atlanta Hawks in a three-team trade that involved the Brooklyn Nets, bringing in Georges Niang and another second-round pick. Altogether, these actions enabled Boston to sit about $4.5 million below the troublesome second luxury-tax apron—saving them roughly $180 million in tax penalties. Standing at 7'2", Porziņģis is an All-Star who averaged 19.5 points in 42 games last season. He offers size and scoring, but he's also known for his frequent injuries. Jrue Holiday, a vital player in their quest for the 2024 championship and who just landed a big four-year, $135 million extension, is now leaving without any ties. The Celtics have made some moves to fill gaps: Anfernee Simons provides explosive backcourt scoring on a $27.7 million expiring deal, while Niang contributes shooting at an $8.2 million salary. This whole drama has thrust Jaylen Brown, the 2024 Finals MVP, into the limelight. League insiders report that there's "significant interest" in both Brown and Derrick White—the Celtics are listening to offers, but they have high asking prices. Assistant GM Mike Zarren stressed that Brown and White are very much valued, and Boston would only entertain blockbuster deals similar to what Mikal Bridges fetched. Jayson Tatum is still out of action, focusing on his recovery from last season's torn Achilles, which amplifies Boston's need for some cap relief. Celtics great Paul Pierce has urged the management to keep Brown, arguing that with Tatum and Brown together, they still have a chance at the championship. Still, with Luke Kornet signing with another team and the lineup getting thinner, it's evident that Boston is preparing for a year of transition. Also Read: These Three NBA rookies quietly landed in spots where the playoffs could define their rookie seasons But this shake-up has a significant downside: the loss of veteran leadership and frontcourt size, which means Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White will have to step up. While Boston maintains that Brown is "untouchable," the rumors suggest a different narrative. As the 2025-26 season approaches, the balance between being financially smart and aiming for competition has never been more delicate.
