Fresh Strictly drug allegations as 10-year show veteran claims he was offered cocaine by one of it stars at wild party

The whistleblower claims on two separate occasions bags of white power were found in a smoking area and in the men's toilets STRICTLY SHOCK Fresh Strictly drug allegations as 10-year show veteran claims he was offered cocaine by one of it stars at wild party STRICTLY has been hit by fresh drug allegations from a former veteran worker on the show — including claims he was offered cocaine by one of its stars. The whistleblower, who worked on the family hit for ten years until 2023, said he saw 'partying' at the Elstree studios after live filming. He claimed on two separate occasions bags of white power, suspected to be cocaine, were found in a smoking area and also in the men's toilets. And the ex-production crew member alleges one of the Strictly stars offered him cocaine at a Blackpool show after-party. We have passed on his allegations to the BBC. Advertisement It comes after The Sun on Sunday revealed last week The Sun on Sunday revealed last week the BBC had launched an inquiry into allegations of cocaine abuse on Strictly by two stars. BBC bosses have hired external lawyers Pinsent Masons to speak to former contestants, professional dancers and crew. We told how one star accused another of being 'off their face' on drugs. And a celebrity had told how it was 'well known on the show that two stars took cocaine . . . it was talked about widely among the cast'. Advertisement Now, in the latest claims, the long-serving former production crew member, told The Sun on Sunday: 'Strictly is full of partying and drug -taking. BBC launches inquiry into damning allegations of drug consumption on flagship show Strictly Come Dancing 'The main partying is on site at Elstree after filming of the live show has finished. Boozing and drug taking goes on until 3am, sometimes 4am. 'The smoking area outside is a hive of activity. Cocaine gets taken there. 'I remember a bag of cocaine was found in the outside smoking area at Elstree and handed in to a senior producer. That person said, 'Leave it on my desk', no eyebrows were raised. Advertisement 'On another occasion, a small bag of cocaine was found in the male toilets at Elstree. It was widely discussed by people working on the show. 'But in some ways it was seen as quite normal, to find that sort of thing. "People think they can get away with it.' Strictly is full of partying and drug taking Whistleblower The whistleblower came forward after reading our story last Sunday and learning of the BBC-led inquiry. Advertisement He claimed the annual show filmed at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom was 'a particularly big celebration' for the cast and crew. He said: 'Blackpool was always a big party night. I was offered cocaine by a star at an after-show party. Lots of people would go back to the hotel. 'It was a closed-off party, just for the cast and crew. It went on until 5am, even to 6am, it was insane. People were wired and you could see it in their eyes. 'There was lots of champagne and Prosecco too, loads of bottles of it.' Advertisement He added that he thought it was 'well known' on the programme that one of the stars took cocaine, and that he felt they needed help. He said: 'They had a real problem with cocaine, lots of people spoke about it.' Referring to these latest allegations, a BBC spokesman said: 'We have clear protocols and policies in place for dealing with any serious complaint raised with us. 'We would always encourage people to speak to us if they have concerns.' It came as the BBC is prepared to launch its 23rd series of Strictly next month. The Corporation is hoping for a scandal-free show after previous ones were hit by numerous controversies. Advertisement They included Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington accusing Giovanni Pernice of bullying her and Graziano Di Prima being sacked for kicking his celebrity partner Zara McDermott. Last weekend, The Sun on Sunday revealed drugs allegations were made in a legal submission to the BBC in March, by law firm Russells, on behalf of celebrity contestant Wynne Evans — who was axed from the Strictly live tour after he was recorded making an inappropriate sexual comment. It was understood others have also reported to the BBC allegations of drug taking on Strictly. A source said: 'It's been an extremely difficult time for everyone connected to Strictly but, to be fair, the BBC acted promptly on The Sun's drug allegations and brought in external lawyers to help with their investigation. Advertisement 'They're clearly determined to clean up the show, which of course is a hugely popular family show, so it's no real surprise they are taking these allegations seriously and holding a proper inquiry. 'With the new Strictly series about to start, and the latest crop of celebrities being unveiled soon, the BBC will want it all to run smoothly.'

EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick returns to soap just three months after ban for shocking disability slur video

EASTENDERS star Jamie Borthwick is returning to the soap just three months after being suspended for a shocking disability slur — sparking concern from campaigners. The actor, who plays Jay Brown in the show, got an Albert Square ban in June after The Sun on Sunday revealed a video of him using a severely derogatory term. 5 Jamie Borthwick is set to return to EastEnders, to the dismay of disability campaigners Credit: ISO 5 Borthwick was suspended after using a derogatory term to insult the people of Blackpool Credit: PA The clip saw him describe the people of Blackpool as 'absolute m********s' while there for last year's Strictly live show. Now, amid news of his return to EastEnders next month, disability charity Scope has called for Borthwick, 31, to undergo 'awareness training.' The charity's Dr Shani Dhanda, an EastEnders fan, said: 'What shocked me most about this story is the character Jamie plays in the show often appears alongside another character called Janet who has Down syndrome. 'His character was even her stepdad at one point. 'He didn't say the word directly to a disabled person, but even still language is so important.' Meanwhile, the quick return also sparked outrage in Blackpool. Paul Galley, leader of Blackpool Council's Tories, said 'I am today publicly inviting Jamie to return to Blackpool with me — to meet members of our community, hear first-hand how his words caused hurt, and apologise in person. 'The BBC lifting his suspension without any visible act of contrition beyond a statement sends a worrying message celebrities can offend, apologise, and carry on without real consequence.' A BBC spokesperson said: 'Whilst we do not comment on any individual matter, each case is always considered on its own facts. 'We are very clear on our expectations that inappropriate behaviour and language will not be tolerated.' Borthwick's Enders return comes just two weeks after was seen out ready to head to an Oasis gig with his co-star Natalie Cassidy, above. He apologised over the incident in June, claiming he did 'not fully understand' the term he had used. 5 The actor was spotted attending an Oasis concert during his recent suspension Credit: Eroteme 5 He was joined at the gig by EastEnders co-star Natalie Cassidy Credit: ISO

Meghan Markle 'burst into tears' after brutal statement from Prince William

Following the breakdown of their parents' marriage and the devastating loss of their mother, Princes William and Harry seemed inseparable, supporting one another through their grief. Yet today, the feuding brothers find themselves embroiled in a bitter rift as they pursue entirely different paths across the Atlantic divide. The catalyst for their fractured relationship emerged after Harry wed Meghan Markle - with the couple finding it difficult to settle into Royal duties. During the Sussexes' explosive Netflix series, Harry and Meghan, the pair targeted William whilst recounting a pivotal moment that Harry claims left him seething and reduced his wife to tears. The controversy erupted when Harry refused to authorise a joint palace statement refuting bullying allegations - a decision he maintains created an irreparable rift between the siblings, reports the Mirror. This development follows claims that Harry and Meghan's recent efforts to "build bridges and move on" have spectacularly misfired, according to a prominent Royal commentator. The couple in their Netflix series (Image: Netflix) Harry and Meghan with Prince William and Kate (Image: PA) Reflecting on footage of the brothers enjoying themselves in an old fire engine alongside newspaper coverage of their ongoing animosity in episode five, Harry revealed in the programme: "I mean, the saddest part of it was this wedge created between me and my brother so that he's now on the institution's side. "And I get, part of that I get. I understand right? That's his inheritance, so to some extent it's already ingrained in him that part of his responsibility is the survivability and the continuation of this institution. "That day, a story came out that part of the reason why Meghan and I were leaving was because William had bullied us out. And once I got in the car after the meeting, I was told about a joint statement that had been put out in my name and my brother's name squashing the story about him bullying us out of the family. "I couldn't believe it. No one had asked me permission to put my name to a statement like that. And I rang M and I told her and she burst into floods of tears because within four hours they were happy to lie to protect my brother and yet for three years, they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us." This emerges as King Charles and Harry's top advisers reportedly conducted a clandestine reconciliation meeting in London last month, understood to be the first significant move in a 'rapprochement process' aimed at mending fractured relationships. The Mail on Sunday disclosed that Meredith Maines, the Duke of Sussex's chief communications officer, dramatically jetted in from LA to meet Tobyn Andreae, the King's communications secretary, at the exclusive Royal Over-Seas League club mere yards from Clarence House, the monarch's London base. Prince Harry's leading UK PR strategist, Liam Maguire, was also in attendance. An insider revealed to the publication: "There's a long road ahead, but a channel of communication is now open for the first time in year. There was no formal agenda, just casual drinks. There were things both sides wanted to talk about." Although Prince William's representatives were apparently excluded from the surprise meeting, Royal experts have disclosed the behind-the-scenes influence he would have wielded as the monarchy's heir apparent. They suggest that whilst William shows little enthusiasm for mending fences with his alienated sibling, with whom he's allegedly had no contact for years, the discussions would never have taken place without his 'backing and consent'. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told Mail Online: "The King would never have made these moves without William's support and understanding. William and Catherine are the future of the monarchy. "He has undoubtedly been furious at the way the Sussexes have behaved and undoubtedly regards Harry's behaviour as treason of a sort. They reportedly have not spoken in over two years.'". Meanwhile, Royal author Phil Dampier remarked: "The King is more anxious to patch things up than William, who I believe will never be close to his brother again." Harry is expected to return to the UK in September for the yearly WellChild ceremonies, presenting a chance for him to reconnect with his father for the first time in 18 months. However, William appears to have no intention of meeting his brother, regardless of the diplomatic efforts.
