Former ‘Real Housewives of Miami' star Lea Black shares post after losing husband

Miami Herald23-07-2025
Lea Black reached out to friends, family and fans Tuesday after word spread that her husband had passed away.
Top criminal defense lawyer Roy Black, whose clients included numerous celebrities and prominent figures, died at age 80 Monday after battling an unknown illness.
'Thank you for all your blessings,' the former 'Real Housewives of Miami' star wrote on social media.
Fans were introduced to the power couple and their young son RJ in the first season of 'RHOM,' which first aired in 2011. They lived in a sprawling, historic mansion in Coral Gables, and Lea gave the Miami Herald a grand tour that year.
The pair's annual gala turned into a major plot point after ex cast member Cristy Rice crashed the charity event with two people, and a feud between her and Lea ensued for many, many episodes.
Lea, 69, ended up leaving in Season 3 and did not show up for the Peacock reboot in 2021. The Texas native born Lisa Douthit went on to run a successful eponymous skincare company.
The philanthropist added that details of a tribute and celebration of life for Roy will be forthcoming 'in a few weeks.' A service will reportedly be held at the New York native's alma mater, the University of Miami.
In the comments, condolences poured in from prominent locals like chef Ingrid Hoffman, artist Romero Britto and politician Michael Gongora as well as from former castmates Lisa Hochstein, Karent Sierra and Romain Zago.
A few of Roy's onetime clients also chimed in with good wishes, like Joe Francis. In 2008, the 'Girls Gone Wild' creator pleaded no contest to charges of videotaping underage girls, and was released after serving 11 months.
The Blacks married in 1994, three years after Lea served as a juror in the highly publicized William Kennedy Smith rape trial, which ended in Roy getting the scion acquitted.
The ex reality star told the Herald Tuesday that her late husband always 'fought for the underdog and people's civil rights,' regardless of who they were.
'He understood that we all have our flaws,' she said. 'He was able to separate people's behavior from their character. He wanted the best for everyone.'

Huda Mustafa Makes Red Carpet Debut With Brand New Boo

Huda Mustafa Makes Red Carpet Debut With Brand New Boo originally appeared on Parade. Fresh off of her stint on Love Island: USA season 7, it looks like fan favorite islander Huda Mustafa has already found love outside the villa, this time with a different reality television personality. For those who haven't been keeping up, almost immediately after returning to the United States from Fiji, Huda has been romantically linked to Too Hot To Handle season 5 star Louis Russell. The pair was spotted holding hands and shopping together at The Grove in Los Angeles — just days after Huda's Love Island: USA journey came to a close — in addition to numerous other lovey-dovey encounters. Now, the duo seems to have publicly confirmed their relationship, attending last night's Weapons world premiere as a couple, posing for photos on the red carpet while holding hands yet again. Taking place yesterday (July 31) at The United Theater on Broadway in Los Angeles, stars like Julia Garner, Josh Brolin, Sara Paxton and more were in attendance at the Weapons world premiere, but with sleek-as-can-be coordinated outfits, it's safe to say Huda and Louis stole the show. On the red carpet, Huda stepped out in a black lace maxi dress, complete with corseting and boning down the bodice to add a bit of edge. Accompanying the gorgeous gown, the 24-year-old opted for bronzy, głowy makeup and mermaid-esque waves in her hair, creating an overall look that's as stunning as can be. As for Louis, he opted for an all-black ensemble as well — matching his partner in crime — pairing his black suit with silver jewelry, as well as some sexy black sunglasses atop his head. "I love it when two pretty people date," a fan commented on the pair's red carpet debut, and we seriously could not agree more! For all the updates regarding Huda and Louis' blossoming relationship, you can connect with both parties on Instagram for any further updates: @hudabubbaaa and @louis_russell. Additionally, you may stream the entirety of Love Island: USA season 7 — as well as previous seasons of the beloved reality television series — now via Peacock. Comcast Posts Revenue Growth, With Theme Park and Xfinity Mobile Gains

Comcast reported a solid second quarter driven by slower-than-expected losses of broadband and video customers, growing ranks of Xfinity Mobile subscribers and a theme park opening in Orlando. Revenue rose 2.1% from the prior-year period, to $30.3 billion, slightly beating analyst expectations. Adjusted profit fell 1.7% to $4.7 billion, also beating expectations. Competition from mobile-service providers' home-internet offerings continued to eat away at its customer base, but the company said simpler pricing plans and other efforts to reverse the trend are showing signs of success. The company also lost 325,000 video subscribers in the quarter, fewer than the 375,800 that analysts expected. It ended the second quarter with 11.8 million video subscribers. Comcast's mobile-service business, Xfinity Mobile, gained 378,000 lines in the quarter, more than analyst expectations of a 344,600-line gain. The company said it was the business's best growth quarter on record, and it now has 8.5 million total domestic wireless lines. Peacock, NBCUniversal's streaming service, reported $1.2 billion in revenue, up from $1 billion the prior year, and its losses continue to narrow. Peacock ended June with 41 million subscribers, flat with the prior quarter and slightly below analyst expectations of 41.1 million. Sports streaming is lighter in the second quarter, the company said, but the success of 'Love Island USA' helped steady subscriptions and draw new viewers. Disney agreed in the second quarter to pay NBCUniversal $438.7 million as the last step in a buyout of Comcast's stake in streaming service Hulu. Comcast said it recorded a $9.4 billion gain from its sale of the Hulu stake, bringing its total profit this quarter to $11.1 billion. The company opened its Epic Universe theme park in Orlando, Fla., in late May. Overall theme-park revenue rose 18.9% from the prior-year period, to around $2.3 billion, and the company expects interest in the new park to remain strong. The company also has high hopes for the current quarter, with summer box office revenue from franchise releases 'How to Train Your Dragon' and 'Jurassic World Rebirth.' And it expects streaming later this year to be buoyed by sports, including basketball and football, as well as new Peacock price increases. Comcast expects a $1 billion annual cash tax benefit for the next several years, largely tied to infrastructure investments, as a result of the recent tax bill.
