Maya Jama and Rúben Dias appear to CONFIRM romance after weeks of speculation
The footage appears to confirm the couple's romance, which has been rumoured for several weeks. Sources said Maya, 30, and 27-year-old footballer Rúben, who plays for Manchester City, have getting "more serious" lately.
They were pictured kissing and cuddling at KSI's Baller League event on Monday. Video shows them with their arms around each other before he leans into her neck for a peck, with Rúben flying under the radar in casual clothes and a cap.
"Maya and Rúben seemed very close, very loved up and were clearly very comfortable with each other. They were chatting to others around them but gravitated back to each other. They seem very happy with each other," a source said.
Maya Jama says 'dreams do come true' as she shares emotional family statement
It is the first time they have been seen in public since they were thought to have started dating - though Maya has often hinted at the romance by sharing snaps of flowers she has been sent.
Speculation the couple had started dating emerged earlier this year and, after Match of the Day host Gary Lineker appeared to let the cat out of the bag in an advert for the Baller League, social media went into a frenzy. Maya, a presenter on BBC Radio 1, is understood to have introduced the Portuguese footballer to her mum last month, though again the couple hadn't confirmed any romance to fans online.
But now the clip, published by The Sun, is the biggest step in the couple giving fans the nod they've found happiness. It is a poignant moment for Maya, a panellist on The Masked Singer, after her bombshell split from rapper Stormzy, whom she dating on and off for several years.
Maya and her family also went to Wembley to watch Rúben play in Manchester City's 2-0 triumph over Nottingham Forest on Sunday. The win books City's place in the final of the FA Cup, in which they will face Crystal Palace after the Eagles thumped Aston Villa 3-0.
Maya, who hosts Love Island, shared a video on the way to the stadium as she penned "family day out to Wembley" in the caption - while her mother and brother sat in the car with her. The star, originally from Bristol, then shared a snap of the pitch as she watched on - while her family enjoyed the atmosphere.
Rúben, a central defender who signed for City from Benfica in 2020, has made more than 60 appearances for the full Portugal side. The footballer was in a relationship with Portuguese singer-songwriter April Ivy from 2018 to 2021.

Johnny Depp's daughter Lily-Rose passionately kisses her girlfriend after celebrating two year anniversary
Lily-Rose Depp packed on the PDA with her girlfriend 070 Shake after a romantic dinner date in Beverly Hills on Wednesday evening. During a night out on the town, the 26-year-old actress was spotted kissing the rapper as they stepped out of celebrity hotspot, E Baldi, in Beverly Hills. Depp and her girlfriend of over two years appeared to be in high spirits as they walked out with big smiles on both of their faces after enjoying dinner together at the Italian restaurant. It has been three months since they have been seen together in public. During their last public outing, Depp narrowly avoided an awkward run-in with her ex-boyfriend Timothee Chalamet and his girlfriend Kylie Jenner as they both attended the same basketball game with their respective partners. For their romantic date this week, the Nosferatu star and 070 Shake, born Danielle Balbuena, sported casual-chic attire. The nepo baby daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis bundled up in a navy blue, fitted sweater layered over a dark gray halter top. She looked effortlessly stylish as she sported a pair of straight-leg, baggy jeans teamed with black ballet flats. The Idol star also carried a baby blue Chanel tote bag paired with matching, dainty gold jewelry for her date night look. She appeared to be sporting little to no makeup and tied her blonde hair up in a messy bun. At her side, the musician — whom Depp started dating back in early 2023 — looked effortlessly stylish in a bright blue sweater paired with pinstriped pants and platform boots. At one point while exiting the restaurant, the pair stopped to gaze into each other's eyes as they lingered in a special moment. Depp put her hands around her girlfriend's face before pulling her in for a kiss. Depp previously dated the Chalamet for two years after they played love interests in David Michôd's 2019 historical epic The King. She started dating 070 Shake in early 2023, confirming their romance when they went Instagram official later that same year. In April, she managed to avoid an awkward reunion with her ex at a Lakers game — just shortly after they almost had another run in at the Oscars in March. At the time, Depp was on stage presenting an award while her ex-boyfriend Timothée was sitting in the front row with his girlfriend Kylie Jenner. However, the pair appeared to take leave from their seats as Depp joined a slew of actresses to present the award to Wicked's Paul Tazewell. Minutes before, Chalamet was seen leading his beloved away hand-in-hand during a commercial break. When winner Tazewell made his way up to the stage, the camera panned the front row, with the couple no longer in their seats. The video was posted on the actor's fan account on TikTok and shared by eagle-eyed viewers who questioned where they had gone. Depp and Chalamet's relationship was relatively private, and fans only found out they had split when the star described himself as 'currently single' in 2020. He once acknowledged their romance during an interview with GQ in which he recalled feeling embarrassed when photos of them kissing on a yacht were made public. 'I went to bed that night thinking that was one of the best days of my life,' he said. 'I was on this boat all day with someone I really loved, and closing my eyes, I was like, indisputably, "That was great." 'And then waking up to all these pictures, and feeling embarrassed, and looking like a real nob? All pale? And then people are like, "This is a PR stunt." A PR stunt?! Do you think I'd want to look like that in front of all of you?!'

Gary Lineker: I thought antisemitism apology would be enough for BBC
Gary Lineker has admitted that he thought his apology should have been enough to save his job at the BBC after he reposted an antisemitic social media post. In his first interview since leaving the broadcaster, Lineker agreed that he left the corporation in a case of 'quit or be quitted' after he 'mistakenly' shared the post. The former Match of the Day presenter, who was the highest paid presenter at the BBC on £1.35 million, said he had not noticed the depiction of the rat, an antisemitic trope, in the post criticising Israel's war in Gaza. In an interview with The New World, formerly The New European, Lineker said: 'I made a mistake and I immediately took it [the social media post] down and apologised, which I thought should have been enough.' The former England striker, who hosted the popular Saturday night programme for 26 years before he left in May, said that he believed he had complied with the BBC's impartiality rules as he had looked at the war in Gaza 'without a vested interest'. 'I've got no skin in the game. I'm not Muslim, I'm not Palestinian, I'm not Israeli, I'm not Jewish. I come from a place of complete impartiality. And then it becomes about truth,' he said. 'People talked about me being antisemitic. I'm not anti-any group of people. Any race, any colour. But I am anti the killing of children.' It was initially believed that Lineker — who said he had a good relationship with Tim Davie, the BBC's director-general — quit the highlights show voluntarily. But in the interview, the former host said he had no choice but to leave the BBC. When asked if he had quit or if he was sacked, Lineker said: 'The latter.' Linker had hoped to stay at the national broadcaster until next year's World Cup, but BBC bosses decided to end his tenure early. Lineker, who is now focusing on his successful podcast company, Goalhanger, which produces The Rest is Politics and The Rest is Football, said he had not noticed the rat emoji on the bottom of the social media post before he reposted it to his 8.7 million followers. The rat accompanied footage of a Canadian-Palestinian lawyer attacking the war in Gaza with the caption: 'Zionism explained in two minutes'. 'I missed it [the rat emoji]. I genuinely didn't see it,' he said. 'I'm not an idiot. I may not have known it was an antisemitic trope, but I would have wondered why someone had put a rat there. I wouldn't do that on purpose — it would be the biggest act of self-harm ever. It was a tough couple of days.' Lineker had hoped to finish his BBC career with an interview with the Liverpool striker Mo Salah, but BBC bosses pulled the broadcast. The former Leicester City and Barcelona star had been in the crosshairs of BBC bosses for several years for his outspoken views on several issues, including the war in Gaza and immigration. In March 2023, Lineker was temporarily suspended from the BBC over comments he made criticising the then-Tory government's new asylum policy. He was also among 500 high-profile figures who signed an open letter in February urging the BBC to reinstate a documentary on Gaza on BBC iPlayer.

A study just named this European nation the world's funniest country
Are you a quick wit or a master of irony? Have you got good craic or enough comedic timing to get a laugh even out of the cringiest dad jokes? Chances are that you're a funny person. Humour is both universal and incredibly local. It varies enormously between generations, communities and across cultures, but you can bet every nation has its own comedic identity – even if that means not really having one at all. But, which nation is the funniest? Well, Remitly asked more than 6,000 people from 30 different countries to fill out the Humour Styles Questionnaire, which is a study developed back in 2003 by a guy called Rod Martin. It essentially helps researchers and psychologists understand how humour is used by different people in their day-to-day, not just if they're funny but also how they're funny. Recommended: The best comedy movies of all time, according to Time Out. So, was it the Brits, with their dry use of irony, or the Irish, famous for their good craic, who claimed the crown? The answer is neither – the title of the funniest country in the world was actually awarded to (slapstick drum roll, please) ... Czechia (aka the Czech Republic). Scoring 72.33 out of 100, Czechs apparently excel at self-defeating humour and also, according to the study, rank well for aggressive humour (this includes jokes that come at another person's expense, such as sarcasm or ridicule). Portugal came second with a score of 71.42. The Portuguese are characterised by affiliative humour – that's the kind of funny which is warm and helps people bond – and in a close third place was Ireland, which scored 71.18. These are the world's 20 funniest countries, according to Remitly Czech Republic Portugal Ireland Belgium Chile Greece Australia Poland Denmark Hungary Switzerland Netherlands France Mexico Austria Estonia Canada UK South Africa Norway Did you see that these are officially the best islands in the world to visit in 2025? Plus: The Italian city was crowned Europe's best by thousands of travellers.
