Wednesday bosses tease one star will see 'new powers' in Season 2

Wednesday season 2 is just weeks away and bosses have given fans a glimpse at what they can expect
Wednesday bosses have teased that one star will see evolving new powers ahead on the brand new season.

Wednesday enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the much-anticipated second series of the beloved programme. It's been an extensive three years for audiences since Wednesday first mesmerised viewers globally.

With its innovative approach to the Addams Family world, the first series witnessed Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) adjusting to her fresh existence at Nevermore Academy, an institution for supernatural outcasts. From lycanthropes to blood-suckers, the academy encountered everything.

Despite originally being a loner, Wednesday quickly became a vital part Nevermore and discovered herself caught up in her own huge investigation. And Wednesday, series 2 is merely weeks away, guaranteeing more intricate and sinister plotlines.
Now, Wednesday executives have spoken candidly about Pugsley, whom supporters will witness more of this series. Pugsley Addams is Wednesday's younger sibling.

Programme creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have tantalized fans with what they can anticipate. Pugsley is destined to be accepted to Nevermore as a pupil himself, but only time will reveal how Wednesday will take the news.
Alfred Gough hinted: "One of the things we learned in Season 1 is how much people love the Addams family, and there really isn't a lot of Addams family lore that exists. We love having the open playing field of creating the Addams family myth and delving deeper, so we wanted to bring them to Nevermore."
He further commented: "Also, Pugsley's come as a student, so now Wednesday has to deal with her younger brother being here. And as Miles said, there's a lot of family secrets that start to get uncovered."

Gough confessed that Wednesday is "not feeling great about the idea", adding: "I don't think anybody really wants their little brother with them at school. Pugsley is somebody who's always struggled to make and have friends. He didn't have any friends in Normie school and that's what he really wants."
A "socially awkward" Pugsley finds himself "trying very hard" but ends up sharing a room with Eugene (Moosa Mostafa). However, things don't go as planned, as Pugley soon finds himself raising a zombie.
Gough explained: "He's also rooming with Eugene (Moosa Mostafa), who's cool now because he helped save the school. Then, of course, in a typical Addams scenario, Pugsley finds a friend by ultimately raising a zombie."
Tim Burton himself described Pugsley as an "outcast among outcasts", stating: ". He comes into Nevermore for the first time, so we get to see his beautiful experience at school. Everybody has their own specialty power, and he's new to his own. He's just exploring his newfound teenage powers."

Netflix's Wednesday confirmed for season three but fans all have same complaint

Netflix's Wednesday is set to return for its second season next month with show bosses confirming a third season with Jenna Ortega will also be on its way. Netflix's hit show Wednesday starring Jenna Ortega has been confirmed for a third season just weeks before season two is set to debut next month. Wednesday is returning for its second season on August 6 after the global success of the first season of Wednesday in 2022 saw it claim the title for the most-viewed English-language series on Netflix of all time. ‌ The announcement of the third season was made on the show's official Instagram page on Wednesday evening, of course. The poster cover shows Ortega, who plays Wednesday Addams, staring out into the distance with an ominous look on her face. Below her is Uncle Fester's hand holding a crystal ball with the number 3 on it. ‌ The words on the image read: "Bad things come in threes." The Wednesday account captioned the announcement: "Season 2 awakens in two weeks. Season 3 is the next omen, already in motion, already inevitable." ‌ Part one of season two is set to drop in less than two weeks time on August 6 while part two will arrive later in the year on September 3. Season three has not been given a release date as of yet. ‌ Fans of the show were left delighted with the update as they raced to the comment section. An update One excited follower exclaimed: "WEDNESDAY SEASON 3 CONFIRMED?? I'm breathing black glitter right now." Another chimed in: "This has made my day. I can't express how freakin' happy I am right now. Every day is Wednesday!" ‌ A third joked: "I'm rising from my grave after seeing this." A fourth added: "And season 2 hasn't even come out yet this is amazing!" Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! I hope so." However, elsewhere on X, formerly known as Twitter, other viewers appeared to not get too excited about the announcement as they all made the same remark about how long it will take to be released. Replying to the tweet posted by Netflix which announced the news, one wrote: "Too long of a gap between each season, half of the audience is already gone." ‌ A third made a similar remark as they wrote: "So we can expect it around 2030..." Another echoed: "I hope we don't have to wait 12 years for season 3 like we have for season 2." ‌ Somebody else joked: "Airing 2040 with 8 episodes." The first season of Wednesday aired in November 2022 and was a colossal hit on the streaming platform. ‌ However, fans have now been waiting almost three years for season two, which appears to have left many viewers disgruntled by the long period between seasons. Hopefully the wait will be worth it though as Season 2 of Wednesday is set to explore darker, more complex stories, while also retaining the show's signature macabre humour. Co-creator and showrunner Alfred Gough said: 'We think Season 2 is funnier as well!' ‌ The second season will also see the Addams Family and Nevermore lore being expanded with mysterious new characters being introduced. Familiar faces including Morticia, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, Gomez, played by Luis Guzmán, and Pugsley, portrayed by Isaac Ordonez are all set to return in expanded roles. Viewers will want to stick around for season 3 too, which promises to go even further, on every level. Gough said: 'Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can. We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.' Co-creator and show runner Miles Millar added: 'We will be seeing more Addams Family members and learning more family secrets in Season 3!'

Wednesday bosses hint at 'treacherous relationships' ahead of season 2

Wednesday season 2 is just weeks away and bosses have opened up on the new season Warning: May contain spoilers for Wednesday Season 2. ‌ Wednesday Season 2 will witness various relationships taking centre stage as producers reveal they "didn't want to disappoint" fans. ‌ The brand new series is merely weeks away, following an extended wait for devotees. It's been three years since Wednesday initially appeared on our screens and became a sensation with audiences globally. ‌ The debut series tracked Wednesday Addams (portrayed by Jenna Ortega) as she manoeuvred through her existence at Nevermore Academy, an institution for outcasts and misfits, reports the Express. From werewolves and vampires, to sirens and gorgons, the boarding establishment witnessed everything. Eventually, Wednesday adapted to her fresh circumstances, whilst becoming immersed in a huge mystery, having saved Nevermore Academy from significant dangers. ‌ And now, showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough have revealed what supporters can anticipate for this latest instalment of the beloved programme, as they could be "more daring" and "have bigger scope". And fans will see more of certain relationships as they evolve on screen. Wednesday will need to "navigate a lot of relationships" as Miles Millar explained they will be: "Primarily with her mother and with Enid. She discovers that those relationships are treacherous and it's not easygoing. "It's always important for characters to have challenges in terms of those relationships, and that's what audiences really gravitate toward. The emotional heart of the show are those relationships." ‌ Viewers will witness the entire family at Nevermore this series, which creates additional tension for Wednesday as Millar continued: "And the mother-daughter relationship between Wednesday and Morticia is really the central relationship this season." As Wednesday's psychic visions alter throughout the programme, audiences will watch her battle to regain her abilities. Millar explained: "It becomes her goal (Wednesday) over the course of the season to recover her ability, and it brings her right into Morticia's orbit. ‌ "Morticia is desperately trying to help Wednesday recover her power, but Wednesday is resisting. We are always building conflict and putting the mother-daughter relationship front and center in the episodes." Morticia serves as chairwoman of the gala committee, so the entire family travels to Nevermore as producers acknowledged that "bringing the whole family to Nevermore felt like a no brainer." Audiences will witness that tension as Morticia tries to assist Wednesday. Catherine Zeta-Jones, who plays Morticia, also teased what viewers can anticipate with the mother-daughter pair as she revealed: "This season, what unfolds are these three dynamic relationships: Me with my daughter, me with my mother, and Wednesday and my mother. "I'm a little bit jealous of what unfolds in Wednesday's relationship with my mother, because when we're a little strained, she gravitates toward my mother, and she knows that would really annoy me."
