Jitesh Sharma hits a six and celebrates Vidarbha Pro T20 League final win.
New Delhi: Wicketkeeper-batter, Jitesh Sharma, continued his strong recent performance. Following a successful title win with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he led NECO Master Blaster to victory in the Vidarbha Pro T20 League in June 2025, defeating Paragariya Strikers by seven wickets.
Jitesh's team, playing in the final at Nagpur's Vidarbha Cricket Association, pursued a 179-run target. Their innings began strongly. After opener Adhyayan Daga's 22 runs off 16 balls, Vedant Dighade and Aryan Meshram built a significant 90-run partnership. Following this, Addhyan Rauthan was dismissed for a low score, while Dighade reached his fifty.
With 51 runs needed from the final six overs, Jitesh entered the crease after the 14th over. He contributed a quickfire unbeaten 30 runs from just 11 balls, including three sixes and a four, culminating in a final six off Kaustubh Salve to secure victory for NECO Master Blaster with two overs remaining. Dighade also made a significant contribution, remaining not out on 80 runs (52 balls, eight fours, four sixes).
Pagariya Strikers had a bad start as they lost three wickets in the fourth over with 27 runs on the board. But Shivam Deshmukh scored 82 runs (with seven sixes and three fours) and Pushpak Gujar (25) and Yash Kadam (16) ensured that they made a comeback. A rapid 23 by Vishesh Tiwari also kept them moving along and they eventually posted 178/7.
During the IPL 2025 season, Jitesh was the fourth top run-scorer in the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He got 11 innings and scored 261 runs at an average of 37.29 with a strike rate of 176.35 with a best of 85 not out off Lucknow Super Giants. At the mega auction he was bought by RCB at 11 crore rupees.

Priyansh Arya has emerged as one of India's most exciting young talents, setting tournaments alight with his fearless strokeplay. From hitting six sixes in an over in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) to smashing a 39-ball century in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Arya has done it all except lift a trophy. He rose to prominence during the tournament by hitting six sixes in a single over, a rare feat that instantly went viral. But when it came to the final, his team fell short. Coincidentally in IPL 2025, where Arya was a breakout performer for Punjab Kings with 475 runs, yet his team once again stumbled in the the jersey launch of his new team, Outer Delhi Warriors, Arya reflected on those tough losses and the challenge of delivering under pressure. 'There's no such change in the plan, It's just that our final match is a pressure match. So, the way we handle the pressure, it will work for our game.' he has become a recurring theme in Arya's young career. In last year's DPL final, he walked in at a crucial stage and managed only 6 off 2 balls. In the IPL 2025 final, despite a promising start, he could only muster 24 off 19. After Chandrakant Pandit, Another High-Profile Name Leaves Kolkata Knight Riders: Report

Former India bowling coach Bharat Arun has been brought on board by Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) as their new bowling coach ahead of 2026 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Sources tracking the developments have confirmed to IANS that Arun has joined LSG, who finished at seventh place in IPL 2025. 'Yes, it's confirmed that Arun is onboard LSG as their new bowling coach. LSG had been looking around for a world-class fast-bowling coach within Indian cricketing circles once IPL 2025 was done and they have finally got their wish,' further said sources on Wednesday. IANS has reached out to Arun for a comment on this, but didn't get a reply from him at the time of publishing. Arun moving on to LSG, captained by India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, also means his four-year stint as the bowling coach of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has come to an end. He had joined KKR ahead of 2022 season, where he was a member of the franchise's 2024 IPL-winning team. Arun leaving KKR comes just a day after the franchise parted ways with their head coach Chandrakant Pandit. IANS understands that apart from Arun joining the LSG coaching staff, there's doubts on future of head coach Justin Langer and mentor Zaheer Khan. 'It is understood that Langer could be out of the franchise, while talks with Zaheer are still happening,' added sources. Arun had two stints with the Indian team as their bowling coach - from 2014 to 2015, and from 2017 to 2021 T20 World Cup, where he played a huge role in shaping the fast-bowling revolution in the men's team. He was part of the India team that won the Under-19 World Cup in Australia in 2012, and also served as coach of Tamil Nadu, Bengal and Hyderabad teams in the domestic cricket circuit. Arun also spent time as bowling coach of Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL from 2015 to 2017.
