Late actor Om Puri is trending on X, formerly Twitter, after explosions were heard in Srinagar. The incident happened only a few hours after India and Pakistan agreed to an 'immediate ceasefire', ending their conflict.
As social media is filled with mixed reactions about the violation of the ceasefire, a dialogue from Om Puri from the film Lakshya is doing rounds on social media platforms.
The viral scene is set in a war zone. In it, Om Puri as the Subedar Maj. Pritam Singh tells Hrithik Roshan, who plays the role of Karan Shergill, 'Mujhe inn logo ka tajurba hai. Pakistani haare toh palat k phir ata hai. Agar jeet jao toh fauran laparwah nahi ho jana. Meri baat yaad rakhna. (I have experience with these people. When Pakistanis lose, they tend to come back. Even if you win, don't become careless immediately. Remember my words)'
In response, Karan says, 'Yaad rakhunga (I will remember your words).'
Lakshya is directed by Farhan Akhtar. It also stars Preity Zinta.
Released in 2004, the story revolved around an aimless young man, Karan, who initially joins the Indian Army on a whim but later runs away when he finds out how difficult it is to live like a soldier. He later goes back and reunites with his girlfriend.
Relating to the viral dialogue from the film, someone wrote on X, 'Om Puri in Lakshya was right.'
'What's so strange in this? Mr. Om Puri had told the behaviour of these monsters years ago,' added another one.
Someone else also commented: 'You can trust a snake but not Pakistan.'
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah confirmed that explosions were heard across Srinagar, after India and Pakistan agreed on a ceasefire. Blasts were heard across Srinagar, as per the CM.
In a video shared by J&K CM Omar Abdullah on X, projectiles were seen in the sky in Jammu. Besides Jammu, explosions were also heard in Udhampur, Barmer, Sonawar area of Srinagar and Nagrota, prompting a complete blackout in multiple locations.
Omar Abdullah wrote on X, 'What the hell just happened to the ceasefire? Explosions heard across Srinagar!!!'
'This is no ceasefire. The air defence units in the middle of Srinagar just opened up,' he added in the next post

Netflix top boss thought Sanjay Leela Bhansali pitched Heeramandi to them to be rejected: 'It almost felt like a dare'

When Heeramandi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus, was greenlit by Netflix, it was hailed as a landmark moment for Indian streaming. Bhansali has the legacy of being Indian cinema's most visually opulent showman. His films are larger-than-life and lavish. Hence, a series on the same scale was unthinkable. In a recent chat, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos revealed that he felt that the filmmaker almost wanted 'no' for an answer when he pitched the show. Speaking on Nikhil Kamath's WTF podcast, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos talked about the scale of Heeramandi and said, 'Heeramandi was probably one of the most creatively interesting projects I've worked on in India. I was involved in the greenlighting meetings for it. He (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) came to LA to do the pitch. He came in with this very big vision. Honestly, it almost felt like a dare—like he was saying, 'I dare you to make this; it's so big. He's a legend of cinema, so the idea of him making a TV Show was unheard of. I thought he came for us to say no. And then, when we said yes, there were lots of delays. It was a complicated production.' Announced in 2021, Heeramandi took almost three years to make and produce before it was released on the platform in May 2024. 'He built these enormous, practical sets that we shot on. There was something beautifully old-fashioned about every element of the production. And he was so proud of it. I was so proud of him. To me, Heeramandi is a true reflection of India's deep, enduring love for cinema,' Sarandos added. Heeramandi is a fictional tale set in the famous red light district of Lahore in pre-Partition undivided India. Bhansali had initially conceived the story as a film in 2007. It was later revived as a show in which Bhansali wanted to cast Pakistani actors Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, and Imran Abbas. But those plans had to be shelved due to the virtual ban on Pakistani artists in India after 2016. Heermandi stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, and Taha Shah Badussha.

Hania Aamir Spotted On Diljit Dosanjh's BTS Pics from Sardaar Ji 3? Here's What Fans Think

Last Updated: Fans spot Hania Aamir in BTS photos from Sardaar Ji 3 shared by Diljit Dosanjh, despite rumours she was replaced post-Pahalgam attack amid rising tensions. Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh recently gave fans a sneak peek into the sets of his much-anticipated film Sardaar Ji 3, sharing a series of behind-the-scenes photos on social media. While the spotlight was clearly on co-star Neeru Bajwa, eagle-eyed fans couldn't help but notice something — or rather, someone — unexpected lurking in the background: Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. Though Diljit didn't tag or directly acknowledge Hania in his post, fans were quick to piece together the clues. In one photo, a woman resembling Hania can be seen standing just behind Neeru, her cropped hair and eyes barely visible — but unmistakable to devoted followers. Another photo showed a woman in a black saree holding Diljit close, sparking even more speculation that Hania had indeed returned to the sets. Some even claimed her face appeared printed on Diljit's black T-shirt. This comes amid swirling reports that Hania Aamir may have been replaced from the film following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which left 26 Indian tourists dead and severely escalated diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan. At the time, calls for a boycott of Pakistani talent gained momentum, with heightened nationalistic sentiment taking over social discourse. Many expected that cross-border collaborations in the entertainment industry would once again be shelved. View this post on Instagram A post shared by DILJIT DOSANJH (@diljitdosanjh) Diljit's caption, 'Jaggi With Beautiful Chudels. Sardaar Ji 3 Releasing 27th June. Teaser Coming Soon," made no mention of Hania, adding to the intrigue. While neither the production team nor the actress herself has confirmed her involvement, the glimpses have reignited debate over whether Hania is still part of the film. The timing of these visuals also coincides with growing public sentiment around Operation Sindoor, India's intensified military campaign in response to the Pahalgam attack. The operation, backed by strong political rhetoric, has once again reopened discussions about the presence of Pakistani actors in Indian entertainment, especially during times of heightened conflict. As of now, there's no official word on Hania's status in Sardaar Ji 3, but the behind-the-scenes whispers — and screenshots — are enough to keep fans and critics talking. Whether her appearance was a fleeting cameo, a full-fledged return, or merely a misidentified stand-in remains to be seen. What's certain, however, is that in the age of high-definition scrutiny and political sensitivities, no frame goes unnoticed. First Published:
