The Fortune Hotel Season 2: release schedule, eliminations and where to watch

ITV competition show The Fortune Hotel is in full season 2 swing, with 11 pairs of contestants battling it out to find a briefcase stuffed with a £250,000 prize. Hot off the heels of BBC show The Traitors, in eight episodes players must work out which pair has the winning briefcase, and the goal is to end up with it at the end of the show. Daily challenges decide what order players can either keep or swap their briefcases, with the quarter of a mill secretly changing hands throughout the series. Eight briefcases are empty, while the ninth has an 'early checkout card' – which eliminates players landed with it at the end of each episode. Presenter Stephen Mangan told Metro how the show can be pretty savage, as winning requires contestants to lie and cheat. 'It's really difficult to brutally pull the plug on another pair and send them home, but you have to do it,' he explained. The series began with 11 pairs of contestants who know each other in some capacity, much like Race Across The World's format. Hoping for a chance to win were best friends Maz and Max; fellow besties Chelsey and Briony; father and son Atholl and John; brothers Jake and Mike; couple Allan and Jacob; couple Nella and Tope, partners Fred and Min; mum and daughter Martina and Briony; friends Gurk and Guv; and dad and daughter James and Yasmine. Players come from all walks of life, with jobs ranging from tech to cleaning, and retirees are also having a stab. Last week's episode ended on a cliffhanger – spoiler ahead – as with the introduction of a second early check-out card, both Fred and Min and Allan and Jacob seemed to be at risk. However host Stephen revealed only one of the pairs would be going home – as voted for by their other contestants, ouch . Tonight revealed Maz and Max sent home Allan and Jacob through tears, leaving them 'gutted'. So far other eliminated contestants include cleaning business owners Briony and Chelsey; retired police officer Atholl and son John from the Scottish borders; Wigan-born brothers Mike and Jake; and salesman Guv and poker player Gurks. Episodes are airing weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Episode 1 – Wednesday August 6 at 9pm (out now) Episode 2 – Thursday August 7 at 9pm (out now) Episode 3 – Wednesday August 13 at 9pm (out now) Episode 4 – Thursday August 14 at 9pm (out now) Episode 5 – Wednesday August 20 at 9pm (out now) Episode 6 – Thursday August 21 at 9pm Episode 7 – Wednesday August 27 at 9pm Episode 8 – ThursdayAugust 28 at 9pm The Fortune Hotel airs on ITV1 and ITVX. The actress shot to fame in Home Improvement back in the 90s, but over 30 years later she's ditched her brunette locks to embrace a stunning silver. 5 This actress looks completely different to her time on the classic sitcom Credit: Getty 5 Patricia played Taylor matriarch Jill in Home Improvement Credit: Getty 5 Jill is now set to reunite with her on-screen husband, Tim Allen, for his new series Credit: Getty Patricia Richardson, now 74, found fame on the beloved ABC show as Jill Taylor, the wife of central character Tim 'The Tool Man' Taylor, played by Tim Allen. The show followed the Detroit husband-and-wife duo with their three sons – Brad, Randy and Mark – as Tim hosted his own DIY show, Tool Time. Her role earned her four Emmy nominations and two Golden Globe nominations for best actress in a comedy series. Since the series ended in 1999, Patricia took on a leading role in medical drama Strong Medicine, where she played Dr Andy Campbell for four years. Following that, she had a recurring role in the iconic political series, The West Wing. From there, she's appeared in arcs in Grey's Anatomy, NCIS and The Blacklist. But now she's coming full circle with a confirmed appearance in Tim Allen's latest sitcom, Shifting Gears, which tracks the life of a widowed car restorer. Patricia will be reuniting with her on-screen husband Tim in the season premiere on October 1st, 26 years since their time together on Home Improvement – but she won't be the only Home Improvement star dropping by. They will be joined by fellow co-stars Richard Karn, who played Al Borland and 'Tool Time Girl' Heidi Keppert star Debbe Dunning in the same episode. Running from 1991 to 1999, Patricia appeared in all 208 episodes of Home Improvement – with an average 34million American homes tuning in, making it the number one sitcom in the country. Tim Allen and Home Improvement co-stars Richard Karn and Debbe Dunning reunite 25 years after popular sitcom ended At the time, she sported a signature brown bob and bangs, and was seen trying to keep the men in her life in line – especially Tim, who she challenged about familial roles in the home. Throughout the course of the show, character Jill went from a stay-at-home mom to a career-focused psychologist, enlisting in school after losing her job as a researcher for a magazine. But she originally was hesitant to take on the most defining role of her career, having given birth to twins shortly before filming for season one began. The team were so desperate to have her on board, they made concessions for her, including a second dressing room for the babies to rest in. It was ultimately her decision, alongside Allen's, to end the show, telling LA Times in 2024: 'I told everybody, there's not enough money in the world to get me to do a ninth year. This show is over. It needs to end.' In the season finale, the family were seen moving to Indiana for the sake of Jill's career. Reflecting on the show's history, she said: 'I'm really proud of what it meant to our audience. 'I don't care what anybody says, I'm proud of the legacy.' 5 Patricia said she is 'proud of the legacy' of the series Credit: Getty

X Factor star marries long term partner in lavish ceremony at The Savoy

X Factor star Lydia Lucy has married her long term partner Tommy Watson. The singer, who took part in the 2013 series, tied the knot last week during a lavish ceremony at The Savoy in London. Lydia looked incredible in a traditional A-line gown with lace sleeves and a dramatic veil. Announcing their happy news to Instagram, she shared a photo from their big day and wrote: 'The new Mr & Mrs.' Sharing their well wishes in the comments section, TOWIE 's Chloe Brockett wrote: 'Stunning Lydia,' while Scarlett Moffatt added: 'So beautiful. Huge congratulations.' Lydia and her husband Tommy share one daughter, Dottie- May, who they welcomed in 2021. Essex girl Lucy attempted to find music stardom on Simon Cowell's reality TV juggernaut The X Factor in 2013. During the series the ITV hit premiered its Bootcamp elimination process, the six chair challenge. Lucy was one of the first victims of the twist on musical chairs - she lost her seat and missed out on a place in the Judges' Houses round. She went on to star on The Voice UK in 2016, where she placed in fourth, behind Jolan, Cody Frost and winner Kevin Simm. After coming third on the programme - she was dubbed the 'new Fergie' when she performed alongside her mentor at the Royal Albert Hall in 2016. Speaking to Daily Mail outside the venue before she took to the stage, Lydia beamed: 'I'm so excited for tonight. It'll be an amazing show. 'You know what, I grew up listening to the [The Black Eyes] Peas. This is just so surreal for me to be here and be performing with Will. He's a legend.' And she took like a pro to her childhood dreams as she performed alongside Will, rapper Taboo and No stranger to the limelight, she also appeared on cult reality show The Only Way Is Essex the following year, after being romantically linked to Ricky Rayment. Yet despite pursuing her dreams to become a singer, Lydia later admitted that she has found fame hard to cope with, exclusively telling Daily Mail about the vile trolls who sent her death threats. After being linked to the break-up between TOWIE's Ricky and Jessica Wright, the star received a barrage of abuse on Twitter, with some even sending her death threats. 'I was quite upset at the time but I think you're going to get [targeted by] Twitter trolls with everything that you do so you've got to take it with a pinch of salt,' she said. 'Music is my life so I've got to take the good with the bad.' Clearing up the rumours that she sent Ricky flirtatious text messages whilst he was dating Jessica, she explained: 'It was nothing to do with me, it wasn't my fault. I was just accidentally brought into it... 'I've not seen any of them since. I've only ever met Ricky twice any way so this is the funny thing about it. There was literally nothing going on.'
