S S Rajamouli announces title of his next film with Mahesh Babu
New Delhi, Aug 9 (PTI) Filmmaker S S Rajamouli has revealed the title of his upcoming film starring Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead role.
Rajamouli shared the announcement with a post on his X handle on Saturday. He added that the 'first reveal" about the film will be out in November.
'The First Reveal in November 2025… #GlobeTrotter," read the caption of the post. It featured a close-up shot of the actor's chest, wearing a pendant featuring an idol of Lord Shiva's trishul and his ox Nandi. It had 'Globetrotter" written over it.
The upcoming film, which was tentatively titled 'SSMB29, will also mark the first collaboration between the actor and the filmmaker. The makers haven't shared any details about the plot and star cast of the film. The release date of the film is yet to be announced.
Previously, there were reports of Priyanka Chopra starring in the film, but it hasn't been confirmed by the makers.
It will be the first project for Rajamouli after his acclaimed directorial 'RRR", which released in 2022. Starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the film went on to emerge as a massive success at the box office.
Babu's last film was 'Guntur Kaaram". Released in January 2024, the film was directed by Trivikram Srinivas. The actor also voiced the character of Mufasa in the Telugu version of 'Mufasa: The Lion King". It released in December last year.

War 2 Gears Up For A Rs 80 Crore Global Day 1 The day 1 Hindi figure looks to be in the Rs 27-28 crore net range. The Telugu version should be adding another Rs 22 crore net or so. A day 1 of Rs 50 crore net (Rs 60 crore gross) seems like the best case scenario for War 2. The international day 1 opening of War 2 is expected to be USD 2.3-2.5 million dollars (Rs 20 - 22 crore). This suggests a day 1 global opening of Rs 80 crore gross or so. The day 2 should certainly be bigger because of Independence Day. One would hope that the weekend of War 2 is close to Rs 350 crore, and then it sustains well to end up with a final number in the tune of Rs 600 crore worldwide, if not more. Mohit Suri reveals he called uncle Mahesh Bhatt for advice on Saiyaara: 'I said, I am feeling a little unsure'
Since its release last month, Mohit Suri 's most recent film, Saiyaara, has gained immense popularity. Newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda starred in the movie, and as a result of its success, they have also become huge stars. As Saiyaara continues its box office run, Mohit recently discussed love, loss and of course, Saiyaara. He recalled how, when he was unclear about a particular scene in the movie, he called his uncle, Mahesh Bhatt , for guidance. Sreeleela sets sights on pan-India stardom
Sreeleela is on a roll. Having made a name for herself in South Indian cinema, she is now eyeing pan-India stardom. The actress began her career with the Kannada film Kiss. She then went on to star in hits like By Two Love (Kannada), and Dhamaka, Guntur Kaaram, and the National Award-winning Bhagavanth Kesari (Telugu). Now, she has another Telugu film in the pipeline; she's also stepping into Tamil and Hindi cinema, with projects that include a Bollywood film alongside Kartik Aaryan and her Tamil debut, Parasakthi, opposite Sivakarthikeyan.
