Producers scrapped Scottish Bridget Jones love interest character
LEO Woodall has revealed that he prepared to play Bridget Jones' young love interest as a Scot before the producers 'changed their minds'.
In the fourth movie in the romantic comedy saga, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, Londoner Woodall plays Hampstead Heath park worker Roxster, who meets the clumsy and lovelorn TV worker (Renee Zellweger) after rescuing her from a tree.
The upcoming film takes place four years after the death of Bridget's husband Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), and sees her readjust to the single life.
It also includes the return of Hugh Grant, who continues in the role of former lover Daniel Cleaver – who had been killed off in the third film, Bridget Jones's Baby.
Woodall (above), also known for Netflix's One Day and HBO hit series The White Lotus, told BBC One talk programme The Graham Norton Show that Roxster 'was supposed to be Scottish'.
He added: 'I went into the audition prepared to do it in a Scottish accent and once I did it, they changed their minds.'
Woodall also said he did not really get to know Grant during the filming of the movie, though both did attended the January 29 premiere.

He said: 'I didn't get to work with Hugh, and I was too shy to say hello to him. Everyone keep asking me, 'What he's like?' and I have to say, 'I don't know, I haven't met him'.'
Zellweger (below) said she was 'hopeful' for the return of Grant 'but also surprised (because) he was dead'.
'But if you are going to bring someone back to life, let it be Daniel Cleaver,' she added.
'I am so glad they found him alive at the end of the third film so he could come back if he wanted to. He is so brilliant.'
She also spoke about how Bridget has addressed 'the dark moments' with grief of Mark dying in her 'own way'.
'No one gets to this stage of life without knowing grief and it wouldn't be authentic without a little struggle,' she added.
The new film is based on British author Helen Fielding's 2013 book Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, which sees the character as a widow in her 50s with two children.

The Star Trek: Discovery star said, 'Do I mind that I wasn't paid more than other people? I never work for money.' The actor further spoke about his spendings. 'People will think I have huge stockpiles of money but sadly, what I've done rather immaturely is expand my outgoings to match my incomings and pretty much spent everything I've earned over the years.' During the interview, Isaacs also gushed over his longtime life partner, Emma Hewitt. The couple, who started dating in the 80s, tied the knot in 2001. Speaking of his longtime romance, the star disclosed that the duo broke up for a while in their 'seven-year itch' phase. However, Hewitt has 'stuck around' even when Isaacs was at his lowest. The actor revealed, 'She's the only one who saw how dark I was. And she stuck around, and thank God she did.' Netflix is letting fans step into their favorite shows with new themed ‘houses'
For years, streaming audiences have let Netflix into their homes. Now, the subscription platform is opening its doors to fans as part of its latest string of in-person experiences. The South Bay media company is launching three permanent retail spaces, called Netflix Houses, packed with games, food, exclusive merchandise and more in an effort to create 'immersive story-driven experiences,' according to the platform. The first two Netflix Houses are set to open later this year in Dallas and Philadelphia, with a third slated for the Las Vegas Strip in 2027. Each space is expected to span more than 100,000 square feet and will spotlight a different selection of Netflix's hit shows and films. 'This is fandom coming to life, where you can actually step inside the worlds you've been watching and loving for years,' Marian Lee, Netflix's chief marketing officer, said in a statement. 'With fresh experiences dropping regularly, there's always a new reason to come back.' Fans can sign up online to be alerted about early access to tickets to the daytime experience. Philadelphia's Netflix House, located in the King of Prussia Mall, will include a 'twisted tour' of the Eve of the Outcasts Festival from the horror series 'Wednesday' and a 'high-stakes race' toward a mysterious Devil Fruit from the live action adaptation of 'One Piece,' in addition to virtual reality games from Sandbox VR, Top 9 mini golf and a Tudum theater for screening events. The Galleria Dallas location will allow fans to journey through a 'Stranger Things' backdrop to solve a mystery and face off with friends in 'Squid Game' activities. It will also feature a game room complete with physical challenges, arcade games and more. Both locations will include Netflix Bites, a restaurant that serves themed food and drinks, as well as a merchandise store. No details on the Las Vegas Netflix House have been announced, but a Netflix Bites opened inside the MGM Grand earlier this year.

Doug Ford blasts Netflix doc on late brother Rob Ford: 'Let him rest in peace'
TORONTO — Ontario Premier Doug Ford says a new Netflix documentary about his late brother Rob Ford is "disgusting." The doc titled 'Trainwreck: Mayor of Mayhem" chronicles Rob Ford's rise to power as Toronto mayor in 2010 and his chaotic time in office. Speaking at a news conference in Toronto, Doug Ford said he wasn't going to watch the film, and he doesn't see eye-to-eye with the creators. Ford said he spoke to one person who saw the doc and that it "absolutely infuriates" him. The film's director Shianne Brown told The Canadian Press last week that she had asked Doug Ford to participate in the film but he 'kindly declined.' It includes archival footage and interviews with journalists and insiders from Rob Ford's circle to trace the populist wave that swept him into office in 2010 and his struggles with addiction while in the spotlight. "It's just disgusting. Leave the guy alone, let him rest in peace. Let his family rest in peace," Doug Ford said Tuesday when asked about the documentary, which debuted that day.
