Michael Rapaport Under Fire From Social Media Users For Dismissing Hulk Hogan's Controversial Past: 'I Don't Care'

Yahoo29-07-2025
Actor and comedian Michael Rapaport is facing intense backlash from social media users for what many see as his dismissing Hulk Hogan's controversial past, which includes a racist rant and claims of infidelity from his ex-wife, Linda Hogan.
Michael Rapaport Dismisses Hulk Hogan's Controversial Past, Including His Racist Rant, In A New Video
In a new video, Rapaport, 55, addressed the "disrespect" he claims to have seen online about Hogan since his death in late July 2025.
"That's what we're not going to do," he said, adding, "We're not going to be disrespecting Hulk Hogan."
As Rapaport continued, the podcast host said he remained unbothered by Hogan's "controversy outside of the ring."
"I don't care about his endorsing [Donald] Trump, I don't care about the stuff that was controversial, we're not going to be disrespecting the man with the 18-inch pythons," he added.
"Forget you as an adult, sicko," Rapaport continued. "Think about the kids."
Hulk Hogan Used Racist Language During A Previous Conversation
Although Rapaport didn't specify which of Hogan's past controversies he was dismissing, many users assumed he was referring to the infamous 2007 racist rant in which Hogan expressed disappointment with his daughter, Brooke Hogan, for dating a Black man, admitting, "I guess we're all a little racist."
In the transcript, which was confirmed and published by several sources, Hogan was also quoted saying, "I mean, I'd rather if she was going to f-ck some n-gger, I'd rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall n-gger worth a hundred million dollars!"
Shortly after, the WWE cut ties with Hogan, declaring in a statement that its company was "committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds."
Social Media Users Rip Rapaport Over Unwavering Support For Hogan
On Instagram, Rapaport began facing criticism over his words almost immediately.
"One thing a white man gone do is defend another white man," someone wrote. "So this ain't surprising."
Someone else quipped, "And this is exactly why he need to stay outta black people's business. I've said it once, and I'll say it again!"
Another person chimed in and wrote, "We don't care about him or you! RIP Malcolm-Jamal Warner."
A fourth user added, "Yeah, he has always been problematic to me. Never wanted him at the cookouts."
Hulk Hogan Apologized For His Words Several Years Later
Years later, in a 2015 statement to PEOPLE, Hogan apologized for using "offensive language," calling his behavior "unacceptable."
He went on to say that there was "no excuse" for his actions before claiming he believed in equality for all.
"This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs, or otherwise," Hogan said at the time. "I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs."
And that's not the only major controversy Hogan faced during his career.
According to PEOPLE, Hogan's ex-wife, Linda Hogan, filed for divorce in 2007 after 24 years due to the WWE legend's "infidelities."
Years later, she addressed their family dynamic in an emotional video, calling it "the worst mess."
The Wrestling World Mourns The Loss Of Hogan
Hogan died in late July 2025 from cardiac arrest. He was 71.
Fellow WWE stars, such as Ric and Charlotte Flair, posted heartfelt tributes to the late wrestler, expressing how much he meant to their family.
Dwayne' The Rock' Johnson also shared a statement, recounting their epic "Icon vs. Icon" faceoff at "WrestleMania 18."
Johnson remembered the crowd being "electric," adding, "It takes two to tango, but that historic crowd reaction was all for you."
The "Game Plan" actor went on to praise the "Hogan Knows Best" star for being one of the most outstanding WWE personalities of all time.
"... you 'drew the house' meaning you sold out every arena and stadium across the country in your prime as Hulk Hogan, on your way of becoming the greatest of all time," Johnson wrote in his post.
"From deep in my bones, and on behalf of this wild and crazy world of professional wrestling that we love, I say to you now, and forever," he added. "Thank you for the house, brother... Thank you for the house."

‘And Just Like That …' Finale, Plus 5 Things to Watch on TV This Week

Between streaming and cable, there is a seemingly endless variety of things to watch. Here is a selection of TV shows and specials that are airing or streaming this week, Aug. 11-17. Details and times are subject to change. One show ends as another begins. In just three brief seasons of 'And Just Like That …,' Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) became a widow, got back together with her ex-boyfriend from nearly 20 years ago and then broke up with him after flirting with the idea of moving to Virginia. And that's not even touching on the divorce and sexual exploration of Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and the campaign by Charlotte (Kristin Davis) to defend the honor of her dog and, lest we forget, the start Hot Fellas bakery by Anthony (Mario Cantone). Last month, Michael Patrick King, the series' showrunner, writer and director, took to social media to announce that the show's third season would be its last. But in the 27 years since 'Sex and the City' premiered fans have gotten two movies and a reboot, so I have a feeling that Carrie won't be gone for good. Streaming Thursday at 9 p.m. on HBO Max. Noah Hawley, the creator of Fargo, is steering away from the Midwest and into the future with his new series 'Alien: Earth.' The show acts as a prequel to the 1979 film 'Alien,' specifically set two years before the crew of the starship Nostromo awoke to a distressed alien signal. In this iteration, it is 2120 and the earth is controlled not by a government but by five megacorporations. One of the companies, Weyland-Yutani (mentioned in the films), commissions the crew from the spaceship Maginot to collect alien samples to research back on Earth. It ends up crashing in Southeast Asia, where the rival corporation Prodigy is making synthetic humans. Tuesday at 8 p.m. on FX and streaming on Hulu. The peaks and pitfalls of reality television. There are so many dating shows these days that it can be easy to get them mixed up. So let me break down 'Love Is Blind U.K.' for you: Thirty men and women from the United Kingdom and Ireland who are looking for love enter pods where they can talk to one another without seeing what the other looks like. The goal is to get engaged while still in the pods, then meet face-to-face and decide if you want to get married. Last season, two out of the six couples who made it to the end of the aisle decided to say 'I do.' Both couples are still together, and one couple has a baby on the way. These stats aren't bad. NYT Connections hints today for #792: Clues and answers for Monday, Aug. 11

If you're reading this right now, that means you're stuck on today's New York Times Connections puzzle. But you're not alone — the puzzle had me all over the place. The good news is I've got hints (and spoilers if you want them) to help you get through Monday's puzzle: #792. Don't feel bad for taking a peek — today's words were tricky. Since we're in this together, I'll share how I did each day. For the first time ever, I solved purple before any other color! But then I had a difficult time figuring out the last blue word. I got away with making two mistakes today. If you're new to NYT Connections, we've got some tips to help you along the way. Also, check out today's Wordle hints and answer. How to play NYT Connections NYT Connections is a surprisingly difficult word game and if you play, you're now considered a "connector." There are 16 words presented in a four-by-four grid and your goal is to match four words into their respective color-coded groups (yellow, green, blue, purple). Yellow is the easiest to guess while purple is the hardest. Your job is to find out how the four words are connected to a specific group. For instance, in one recent puzzle, the blue group hint was "related to buying a home" and the words were appraisal, escrow, insurance and mortgage. If you make a mistake when you submit, that's okay. You get four guesses before the game is over and the answers are revealed. You can also click on the lightbulb icon in the game to get some hints, but we'll also provide those here. If you find yourself obsessed with this game after completing just one puzzle, I've got bad news for you. You can only play once a day. The timer resets each night at midnight. Tips for playing NYT Connections I only recently started playing Connections, but here are some tips I've found useful along the way. 1. When you get an answer wrong, pay attention to the text that appears at the top of the puzzle. "One away" means you only got one word wrong. Analyze each word to find one that might fit better in another group and try a new word. 2. If you're stuck, shuffle the board. You can shuffle as many times as you'd like to help you see some different word combinations. 3. Try to find the easy yellow group words first. Those words usually stick out because they have so much in common — they're often synonyms of one another. But be wary of the trick words that could fit into multiple categories. 4. Stumped? Come back to the puzzle later with a fresher mind. Trying to solve a difficult puzzle without "sleeping" on it might result in too many mistakes. Today's NYT Connections hints Check out these hints if you're having a hard time grouping them together. I'll give you my own hints: Yellow group: Average Green group: Leave behind Blue group: Ways to quantify something Purple group: Not light Here's one word from each group: Yellow group hint word: Plain Green group hint word: Dump Blue group hint word: Volume Purple group hint word: Horse Okay, on to the official group names for a bigger hint. If you don't want to know what those are, then stop scrolling. NYT Connections group names Here are the group names for today's puzzle. Yellow group: Ordinary Green group: Abandon Blue group: Specs on consumer packaging Purple group: Dark ___ Warning, spoilers ahead! If you scroll past this, the answers are right below. Final warning! Last chance to go back and finish the game. Today's NYT Connections answers (spoilers) Here are the Connections groups and the words that go with them. Yellow group: Ordinary (normal, plain, standard, vanilla) Green group: Abandon (desert, dump, maroon, strand) Blue group: Specs on consumer packaging (count, measure, volume, weight) Purple group: Dark ___ (Ages, chocolate, horse, matter) My results today I was so excited when I figured out purple first, but it didn't make the game any easier. I did have to look up other meanings for maroon, so that helped me solve green. For some reason, I couldn't figure out the last blue word (I thought it was scientific terms) so I gave up on that one. 🟪🟪🟪🟪 🟦🟩🟦🟦 🟦🟦🟦🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟨🟨🟨🟨 🟦🟦🟦🟦 Thanks for reading! Wordle hints today for #1,514: Clues and answer for Monday, August 11

Hey, there! Welcome to the start of a new week. We hope you're refreshed and ready to handle whatever comes your way over the next few days, including solving today's Wordle. For some help with that, here's our daily Wordle guide with some hints and the answer for Monday's puzzle (#1,514). It may be that you're a Wordle newcomer and you're not completely sure how to play the game. We're here to help with that too. What is Wordle? Wordle is a deceptively simple daily word game that first emerged in 2021. There is one five-letter word to deduce every day by process of elimination. The daily word is the same for everyone. Wordle blew up in popularity in late 2021 after creator Josh Wardle made it easy for players to share an emoji-based grid with their friends and followers that detailed how they fared each day. The game's success spurred dozens of clones across a swathe of categories and formats. The New York Times purchased Wordle in early 2022 for an undisclosed sum. The publication said that players collectively played Wordle 5.3 billion times in 2024. So, it's little surprise that Wordle is one of the best online games and puzzles you can play daily. How to play Wordle To start playing Wordle, you simply need to enter one five-letter word. The game will tell you how close you are to that day's secret word by highlighting letters that are in the correct position in green. Letters that appear in the word but aren't in the right spot will be highlighted in yellow. If you guess any letters that are not in the secret word, the game will gray those out on the virtual keyboard. However, you can still use those letters in subsequent guesses. You'll only have six guesses to find each day's word, though you still can use grayed-out letters to help narrow things down. It's also worth remembering that letters can appear in the secret word more than once. Wordle is free to play on the NYT's website and apps, as well as on Meta Quest headsets and Discord. The game refreshes at midnight local time. If you log into a New York Times account, you can track your stats, including the all-important win streak. How to play Wordle more than once a day If you have a NYT subscription that includes full access to the publication's games, you don't have to stop after a single round of Wordle. You'll have access to an archive of more than 1,500 previous Wordle games. So if you're a relative newcomer, you'll be able to go back and catch up on previous editions. In addition, paid NYT Games members have access to a tool called the Wordle Bot. This can tell you how well you performed at each day's game. Previous Wordle answers Before today's Wordle hints, here are the answers to recent puzzles that you may have missed: Yesterday's Wordle answer for Sunday, August 10 — MINTY Saturday, August 9 — NASAL Friday, August 8 — IMBUE Thursday, August 7 — CORAL Wednesday, August 6 — GROAN Today's Wordle hints explained Every day, we'll try to make Wordle a little easier for you. First, we'll offer a hint that describes the meaning of the word or how it might be used in a phrase or sentence. We'll also tell you if there are any double (or even triple) letters in the word. In case you still haven't quite figured it out by that point, we'll then provide the first letter of the word. Those who are still stumped after that can continue on to find out the answer for today's Wordle. This should go without saying, but make sure to scroll slowly. Spoilers are ahead.
