Watch: Luka Doncic casually hits halfcourt shot while looking very fit
So far this offseason, there has been plenty of talk about how Doncic has apparently gotten in much better shape. He was seen several weeks ago looking noticeably slimmer, and according to one report, he has been "incredibly committed" to his health and conditioning.
There is a new video of the Slovenian superstar on social media where he casually hits a halfcourt shot in an open gym, and people have noticed how slim and fit he looks.
Lakers fans on X (formerly Twitter) are looking forward to a new and improved version of Doncic.
Doncic is currently preparing to represent Slovenia in the upcoming EuroBasket tournament, which will start late in August and run through mid-September. While Brian Windhorst reported that Doncic may wait until afterward to sign a contract extension with the Lakers, a new report indicated that the superstar may get that extension done in early August before the tournament starts.
He will be eligible for a four-year, $229 million extension on Aug. 2.

Jokic, the three-time NBA MVP, who many still feel is the best basketball player in the world, can opt out of his current contract in the 2027 offseason. He just became the third player in league history to average a triple-double for an entire season, but he lost out on the 2024-25 regular-season MVP award to the Oklahoma City Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

James, 40, opted into his contract with the Lakers for this upcoming season, which he's set to make $52.6 million in, and it likely signals the end of his tenure with the Lakers, with whom he signed with in 2018 as a free agent and helped them win a title in 2020. Marc Stein reveals Lakers' 'preferred scenario' for LeBron James
It appears that LeBron James will be a member of the Los Angeles Lakers for the immediate future, despite the trade rumors that have surrounded him over the last few weeks. He decided to exercise the player option on his contract for this coming season on June 29, and on that day, his agent, Rich Paul, issued a statement that many interpreted as a prelude to a possible trade request. What he will do once the 2025-26 season ends, however, is anyone's best guess. He could leave the Lakers, or he could possibly continue to play for them. At the same time, there is speculation that the franchise wants to move on from him. NBA insider Marc Stein wrote on his substack "The Stein Line" that the Lakers' "preferred scenario" is to simply let James walk at the end of this coming season. 'The Lakers' widely presumed preferred scenario for their future is letting James' contract drop off their books after the 2025-26 season.' The superstar will make $52.6 million this coming season. According to an ESPN report, Los Angeles didn't offer him a contract extension this offseason. According to at least one other report, the Lakers are just about done with James and are already angling to land another superstar to pair with Luka Doncic within the next couple of years.
