Aidan Chiles listed as one of QBs that could "soar" up 2026 NFL Draft board
Michigan State football starting quarterback Aidan Chiles has been pegged a player that could see their NFL Draft stock "soar" this upcoming season.
Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz of USA TODAY put together an article assessing 10 under-the-radar quarterback prospects that could have big years this upcoming see and Chiles cracked the list. In Middlehurst-Schwartz's article dubbed "Which QBs could be next to rise in NFL draft? These 10 prospects might soar in 2026", it was noted that Chiles' athletic ability will grab NFL scouts attention as long as he also becomes more consistent.
Here's what Middlehurst-Schwartz had to say about Chiles:
"In following coach Jonathan Smith from Oregon State to Michigan State in December 2023, Chiles gave the Spartans some much-needed hope as they looked to turn the page on the Mel Tucker era. Yet nothing came easily to a program stuck in transition, and the former four-star recruit threw for just 13 touchdowns with 11 interceptions as his team stumbled to a 5-7 mark. Tamping down on his turnover-prone ways will be a vital step in Chiles' development this season. But with his often dazzling deep balls and abundant athleticism, the 6-3, 217-pounder will capture plenty of attention if he can boost his efficiency and consistency."
Chiles had an up-and-down first year with the Spartans, throwing for 2,415 yards, 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He was better in the back half of the season, though, which should give fans some hope for further growth in 2025.
I wrote earlier this week how Chiles will be a massive indicator for success (or failure) for the Spartans in 2025. If he can reach his ceiling, I believe he'll have the Spartans in contention for a spot in the College Football Playoff, and it sounds like Middlehurst-Schwartz that would result in him climbing up the 2026 NFL Draft board too.

Former Super Bowl champ reveals what he told Patriots rookie Will Campbell
Former Super Bowl champ reveals what he told Patriots rookie Will Campbell Former legendary NFL offensive lineman Andrew Whitworth revealed the advice he gave to New England Patriots rookie offensive tackle Will Campbell. The two have developed a relationship with both being born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana. Both also attended and played for LSU before being drafted to the NFL. 'I've told him, 'Man, I can't wait to watch him do what he does and build this team with an identity that I know he'll have,'' Whitworth said, per NESN's Sean T. McGuire. 'He gets to carry on the 318 legacy now. He talks about being a fan of mine, but now I get to just be a fan of his.' Whitworth knows a thing or two about creating a legacy as a four-time Pro Bowler, two-time First-Team All-Pro and Super Bowl champion. He was one of the most dependable offensive linemen in the NFL during his run, and he hopes Campbell will be able to carry on their state legacy. As the fourth overall pick of the 2025 NFL draft, Campbell is coming into New England with the highest expectations. So far, he has held his own against tough veteran opposition in the offseason practices. It's all preparation for when the pads finally come on and real football begins later this summer. The Steelers placed tight end Donald Parham on IR less than a week ago after suffering a torn Achilles. Pitts is the second tight end the Steelers have been linked to in a trade. Rams take Braden Fiske in 2024 re-draft with Jared Verse already off the board
Rams take Braden Fiske in 2024 re-draft with Jared Verse already off the board The Los Angeles Rams struck gold in the 2024 NFL draft when they added both Jared Verse and Braden Fiske in the first and second rounds, respectively. Verse won Defensive Rookie of the Year, while Fiske added 8.5 sacks in his first season. However, the Rams don't get that chance to snag both in Bleacher Report's 2024 re-draft exercise. In it, Verse goes No. 8 to the Atlanta Falcons. So without Verse on the board at No. 19, the Rams still the dynamic pass-rusher in Fiske. "The Rams don't need to overthink this selection," B/R's Kristopher Knox wrote. "They've already lost out on standout pass-rusher Jared Verse. They have an opportunity to avoid losing Braden Fiske as well. "Fiske, who was teammates with Verse at Florida State, was originally drafted 39th overall. The Rams should be perfectly comfortable taking him a round earlier in a redraft. They originally paid a hefty price to get him and got terrific results in return. "Fiske ended up finishing third behind Verse and Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell in the voting for Defensive Rookie of the Year. "Missing out on Verse hurts, but missing out on him and Fiske would be a borderline disaster for Los Angeles. It avoids that by scooping up the later here." Pass-rusher was the Rams' biggest need going into the draft after losing Aaron Donald to retirement. While Fiske alone isn't as good as Verse and Fiske, it would have been a good starting point regardless.
