Dissatisfied with the ongoing recruitment of data entry operators through BELTRON, a large number of candidates gathered outside the residence of former CM Rabri Devi, seeking the intervention of opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav. Protesters alleged serious irregularities in the recruitment process announced by BELTRON.
According to the demonstrators, approximately four lakh candidates applied and sat the exam. The BELTRON data entry operator (DEO) results, including scorecards and cut-off marks, were released by the Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation (BSEDC) on April 25. The computer-based test (CBT) and typing skill assessment had been conducted from Sept 14, 2024 onwards.
However, the recruitment advertisement did not clarify the number of available posts. It stated that all candidates surpassing the cut-off would be appointed. Contrary to this assurance, the outcome was markedly different.
"Thousands of candidates who cleared the cut-off are neither being appointed nor provided with any information. In protest, students held a strong demonstration in front of the BELTRON office, demanding the cancellation of the recruitment process," said Sanjay Kumar, one of the protesters.
They also called for the immediate scrapping of the
normalisation process
used in the results and insisted that the selection process be conducted with full transparency.

In case of death during the first six months, our families do not get any benefits from the govt. The first six years of our service will not be counted for career progression because our job becomes regular after six years of service. This system should be abolished," he added. He said that though the BJP-led state govt increased their monthly salary from Rs 11,100 to Rs 16,100, it is yet to abolish the contractual system. "The govt should recruit the schematic teachers as regular teachers from the day of their appointment," Deo added. School and mass education minister Nityananda Gond said the govt is aware of their demand and will take steps at the appropriate time. It shows that the govt is concerned about them. We will take steps after reviewing the situation," he added. Gond urged the junior teachers not to worry and said they should continue their work. Deo further said, "The govt is opening Sishu Vatikas in primary schools to teach children before they enrol in Class I. But infrastructure and manpower in the schools is not sufficient for starting the Sishu Vatikas. If the govt does not appoint teachers for the Sishu Vatikas, it will be an extra burden for us. We urge the govt to appoint teachers for this new initiative under the National Education Policy (NEP)."

Tejashwi raises concerns over law & order, health infra
Patna: Leader of opposition in the state assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav , on Friday launched an attack on the NDA in the state, alleging that "a tired CM and retired officials" were governing the state. Talking to reporters here on Friday, Tejashwi criticised CM Nitish Kumar, stating that the latter is "unfit" to rule the state. "The people of the state are feeling insecure and warned them to be careful," he said. At the same time, he also issued a warning to the people, advising them to be alert while in Bihar. Tejashwi demands special assembly session to raise quota limit
Patna: Leader of opposition in the state assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, on Thursday wrote a letter to CM Nitish Kumar, demanding convention of a special session of the assembly to raise the quota limit for deprived sections to 85% before being sent to the Centre to be included in the ninth schedule of the Constitution. The RJD leader also called for an "all-party committee" for drafting the new legislation. In his two-page letter, Tejashwi reminded the CM about how the previous Grand Alliance govt raised the quota for the backward class to 75% based on a caste survey conducted by the govt in 2023. "However, this law was set aside by the Patna high court, which stated that the reservation limit was increased without studying the adequate representation of these castes in state govt jobs and admissions in educational institutions. But on similar grounds, Tamil Nadu has been providing 69% reservation to its people for the past 35 years," Tejashwi said in the letter. He said that given this situation, a special session of the state assembly should be convened to raise the quota limit, and once it is passed, it should be sent to the Centre to be placed in the ninth schedule of the Constitution.
