Here's a cute reminder of Barkley!
People love how this ginger Goldendoodle is trying so hard to be quiet. It's hard to tell if she's in a home library or an actual library, but either way, good library etiquette!
Teaching a dog the command for quiet or even to whisper bark is such an important skill for dogs to learn, and one person said, "I taught my dog how to 'speak quiet." It took a while, but I did it."My own Pomeranian is too old not to know how to be quiet, and Pomeranians are pretty barky by nature, so I've been working on re-training him. I've been making him go to his bed, and when I give the command for quiet, if he actually stops barking, I give him a treat.
In my opinion, positive reinforcement works best when training pups, and my own fur baby is super treat-driven so he'd pretty much do anything for a treat.
Wag Walking has directions on how to teach your own pup to whisper bark, and they say, "Now that you have your pup barking when you say "whisper," it's time to start turning down the volume. This time, only give him a treat when his barks are lower in volume. He will soon figure out that he only gets treats when he barks at a lower volume."
Maybe when my own pup learns quiet I will work on teaching him to whisper bark next, just in case I bring him with me to the library!

Beaches Resorts Just Launched a Perk for Kids' 1st Passports—And Parents Will Love It!
Traveling With Kids Doesn't Have to Feel Like Work Let's be real: family vacations can feel more like trips than true breaks. The packing lists, the passports, the inevitable meltdown in security lines… sound familiar? But the second my family hit the sand at Beaches Resorts, everything shifted. The kids raced off to splash zones and kids' camps, and for the first time, I thought, oh wow, this actually feels like a vacation. Tiny Traveler's First Passport = Big Perks This fall, Beaches rolled out a new Tiny Traveler's First Passport offer to celebrate little ones' first stamps. Families with children five and under can score $135 resort credit per child (up to two) when they show proof of a newly issued passport at check-in. It's extra money for the fun stuff—like a seaside dinner, professional family photos, or souvenirs your kids will insist they 'can't live without.' Fall Fam Jam: Seasonal Fun for Young Families From now through October 31, 2025, Beaches Turks & Caicos and Beaches Negril are hosting Fall Fam Jam—a lineup designed just for families with younger kids: Pirate's Island Splash Bash: Twice-weekly splash parties with inflatable pirate gear, fruity snacks, and island music. Mini Murals & Mocktails: A kid-friendly 'paint and sip' where kids paint while parents sip cocktails. Baby Jammers: Outdoor jam sessions with drums, maracas, and shakers sized for little hands. Pa-JAM-a Dessert Parties: Yes, you can wear your pajamas to a dance-and-treats night under the stars. Labrador Steals Pet Cam, Films Home Tour: 'Estate Agent in a Previous Life'
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. In a viral TikTok video, a Labrador retriever got hold of his owner's pet cam after being left alone in the room, what he did next has left the internet in stitches. The hilarious clip, shared on Monday under the username @lana_2710w, shows the pup grabbing the pet cam as his owner leaves the room, holding it in his mouth as he goes filming around the house. After showing the kitchen in great detail, he heads out toward the garden, where he starts running to show how big green it is. "I will never get sick of this [video] Keep watching!" the poster writes in the caption. The video quickly went viral on social media, receiving over 157,700 views and 3,214 likes on the platform at the time of writing, and most users had the same thought. "He was an estate agent in a previous life. That was a lovely tour of your home and garden", said Clare Bell. Tinku wrote: "Let me just show you a tour around the house." Kart added: " are smart. He goes *damn, putting up phone for TikTok again. Ok ok, let me show you what I see, do you see it!? Do you see the sky, do you see the clouds? That is what I Labrador retrievers are known for being an active breed, who require lots of exercise and mental stimulation to thrive. If you are looking for more effortless dogs, there are many choices for you. Newsweek previously reported on a variety of sizes and types of pups, from compact toy breeds like Chihuahuas and Pomeranians to gentle giants such as bullmastiffs and Great Danes, that require relatively low levels of activity once they're fully grown. Many of these breeds, like bulldogs, French bulldogs, pugs, shih tzus, Pekingese, and Japanese chin, are well-suited to shorter walks and indoor play and are prone to overheating, so their activity should be adjusted accordingly. Others like basset hounds and dachshunds need only moderate, cautious exercise to maintain their health without stressing their bodies. Other breeds on the list include Tibetan mastiff, spinone Italiano, cavalier king Charles spniel, Chinese crested, and dogue de Bordeaux, among the most popular. Goldendoodle 'Scolds' Mom Over Not Getting To Crying Baby Fast Enough
Goldendoodle 'Scolds' Mom Over Not Getting To Crying Baby Fast Enough originally appeared on Parade Pets. Having a new baby means figuring out how to get to the 572 things you avoided all day while baby naps (because you don't have time to catch some z's yourself). Multitasking for efficiency is a skill learned over time, repetition, and sometimes a polite nudge from your dog, who cannot stand when the new human cries! Sadie the Goldendoodle is a self-appointed babysitter who jumps into action at the mere whimper of the newborn. When Mom's busy washing bottles, leave it to this pup to put Mom in her place! The August 14 clip shared by @julissaadurazo91 shows the Goldendoodle commanding Mom to stop what she's doing and fix that baby! Like a little drill sergeant, Sadie's not putting up with this volume of wailing for any reason, and she doesn't hold back in telling Mom all about it. As the house nanny, Sadie's just doing her job. Altering the parents to make the crying stop is a small part of that job, but Sadie takes her role very seriously. When it comes to the newborn baby, there'll be no funny business on her watch!"She said, 'Ma'am, please attend your child,'" one person wrote in the comments. "Oh, she's strict! Lol. Running a tight ship over there," another noted. Others couldn't resist calling out the fact that sweet Sadie said, "Go get my baby NOW," and that's all I hear in her tone! The audacity of Mom to take 0.5 seconds to wash bottles is abhorrent, and Sadie won't tolerate that another moment. No fit-pitching necessary—she's making her point loud and clear! It's not the only time the Doodle is keeping a close eye on her humans. Even while resting, she's there, lurking in the shadows like the cutest little weirdo. Goldendoodles Are Great With Kids When your parents are a Golden Retriever and a Poodle, you're bound to have oodles of personality, spunk, and concern over loved ones in pain. These pups are ultra sensitive to their family's needs and have a genuine need to want to help in any way they can. Friendly, loving, and intelligent, Goldendoodles are the perfect fit in homes with children whom they can diligently look after with pride. Since they're prone to separation anxiety, you can bet they'll be the best guardians over those little ones, if only to have some company. Sadie may not love hearing the baby cry, but at least she cares enough to want Mom to fix it. No doubt, she'll be the best big sister (she already is)! 🐶🐾🐾 Goldendoodle 'Scolds' Mom Over Not Getting To Crying Baby Fast Enough first appeared on Parade Pets on Aug 17, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade Pets on Aug 17, 2025, where it first appeared.
