Disney+ Inks New Deal to Bundle With Crave, TSN in Canada

Yahoo09-06-2025
Disney has expanded its content supply deal with Bell Media in Canada to offer a new streaming bundle that includes Disney+, Crave and TSN, starting later this year.
The new Canadian bundle follows a landmark deal between cable giant Charter Communications and Disney to offer Spectrum Select TV subscribers access to Disney+ at no additional cost.

Pricing and launch timing on the new Canadian bundles for Bell Media subscribers has yet to be revealed, but the offerings will include original series and content from HBO and Max, the Crave streaming platform in Canada, Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and TSN, the Canadian sports channel.
The Canadian deal involving Disney and Bell Media continues an industry trend where streaming services are increasingly combined and marketed to subscribers for savings amid continuing cable cord cutting and consumers and ad dollars shifting online. And Bell Media is looking to offset declining Canadian viewership for traditional linear TV channels with more inroads into the streaming space.
'We're excited to expand our longstanding relationship with Bell Media, through these new offerings, making Disney+ even more accessible across Canada,' Shawn Praskey, vp, content sales & distribution in Canada said in a statement.
Bell earlier this year launched new Crave subscription package that bundles in TSN sports content, with pricing starting at CAN$21.99 (US$16.10) a month. And Disney+ is available in Canada starting at CAN $8.99 (US$6.60) a month.
The Disney+, Crave, TSN bundle will give subscribers access to original series like HBO's The Last of Us, The White Lotus, Max's And Just Like That and Hacks, Disney+'s Only Murders in the Building and Lucasfilm's Andor. Upcoming series include HBO's A Night of the Seven Kingdoms, the Game of Thrones spinoff, and season 3 of Euphoria.
And TSN, which competes north of the border with rival Sportsnet from Rogers, will toss into the bundle NFL, NBA, FIFA World Cup games, F1 races and regional NHL games, among other content.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is making some significant changes to Star Paths ahead of its next update to make it more engaging for 'those who play week over week'

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Ahead of the new Emotional Rescue update, Disney Dreamlight Valley has announced that some significant changes are being made to its current Star Path format. As detailed on the Disney Dreamlight Valley blog, these changes are being made to help make the Star Path feel more accessible for every player, regardless of where they are in the valley and how much progress they have made within the game. The most significant update is the addition of Routine Duties. These won't take the place of the standard Star Path duties, but add an additional layer of challenge to work through to get ahold of more rewards. These duties refresh each week, giving you even more to work on, and follow a different theme. The blog stated that these additional duties were initially designed for "those who play week over week" since standard duties alongside those in the base game can become slightly repetitive. Also linking to duties you'll complete throughout the Star Path, any that relate to specific characters or things you unlock in the game, like restaurant orders or features like Dreamsnaps, have been removed for now. This will definitely help brand-new players get stuck in with the Star Path without encountering any roadblocks because they simply haven't got to that point yet. Even with as many hours in the game as I have, there are still characters from realms I haven't unlocked yet, which have stopped me from completing a number of tasks in the past. Plus, if you were grinding the Star Path out at the last minute, these could also effectively roadblock your progress and make it impossible to finish in time, so I'm glad they're finally gone. However, this doesn't apply to brand-new characters introduced with updates and new Star Paths, which are Joy and Sadness for this update. Since new characters roll out alongside new Star Paths, it makes sense that most players will be racing to unlock them. If you're not the type of player to wait with baited breath the second another character is announced, then having these exclusive duties might be the push you need to head into their realm and make your way through their friendship quests—especially now you don't have the added pressure of completing challenges for other characters too. Finally, each Star Path will have an additional five days tacked onto the end, so you've got plenty of opportunities to complete your duties. There's a 48-hour grace period once these five days are up to give you a chance to spend all your Moonstones on prizes if you haven't already done so. Yes, I know, this is a reduction from the previous grace period, but with five additional days to complete the entire Path, we can't complain too much if we run out of time, since there comes a point where it's our own doing.

WWE Comes Early to ESPN With ‘Wrestlepalooza' Special Event on September 20

ESPN is going to the mat for a special WWE event much sooner than expected. The Disney sports-media giant will host 'Wrestlepalooza,,' a new live event on the professional-wrestling giant's calendar, on September 20. The two entities had been expected to kick off a new five-year deal that had ESPN getting the rights to all of WWE's live spectaculars in 2026. ESPN will also show WWE's 'Crown Jewel' on October 11, and 'Survivor Series' on November 29. More from Variety ESPN Streaming Launch Gives 'Sports Center' a Makeover. The event will John Cena, Cody Rhodes, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre in major matches. 'On September 20, WWE and ESPN are coming together for a can't-miss event to kick off our new partnership,' said WWE Chief Content Officer Paul 'Triple H' Levesque, in a prepared statement. 'The biggest Superstars in WWE. The biggest brand in sports media. Are you ready?' NBCUniversal's Peacock previously had rights to show WWE's series of live specials, which have also included 'Wrestlemania.' The addition of the WWE events helps ESPN keep its connection with TKO, the sports-management company that also operates the UFC mixed-martial-arts league, in addition to the wrestling entertainment company. ESPN's hold on UFC matches will lapse at the end of the year, and TKO has committed to putting all its UFC events on Paramount Skydance's Paramount+ as part of a new $7.7 billion deal valued at around $1.1 billion per year. The WWE pact also gives ESPN another way to promote its new streaming service, which launches Thursday. The new ESPN service will, for the first time, make all of ESPN's offerings available to broadband subscribers, rather than a sub-section of content. As part of the launch, ESPN has unveiled a number of new content agreements as well as interactive features. Best of Variety 'Harry Potter' TV Show Cast Guide: Who's Who in Hogwarts?
