The next game in the Battlefield series, Battlefield 6, has attracted all sorts of attention from shooter fans, with excitement reaching a fever pitch following its full announcement last month.
Ahead of the game's release in October, EA will be holding a beta for Battlefield 6, letting players test out an early version of some of the game's modes — which is a good thing for players, after the very mixed response to the last game, Battlefield 2042.

Former WWE Superstar Announces Retirement

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Muhammad Hassan, one of the most controversial characters in modern WWE history, has officially announced his retirement from professional wrestling. The man behind the character, Mark Copani, confirmed that his brief return to the ring a few years ago was his final chapter as a performer. Speaking on the A2theK Wrestling Show, Copani reflected on his short-lived comeback and his final decision to step away from the business for good. Ex-WWE Star: "I Don't Think I'll Ever Step In The Ring Again" After more than a decade away from wrestling, Hassan returned to the independent circuit in 2018 for a handful of matches. He explained that the experience was enjoyable but that his days as an active competitor are now definitely behind him. "It was a lot of fun, just to be able to get back in a ring in front of a few hundred people," Hassan shared. "Just see if I could still do it, and I could do it, obviously not at the level I used to do it... I was done and kind of got it out of my system, and I don't think I'll ever step in the ring and wrestle again." A Controversial and Unforgettable WWE Character The Muhammad Hassan character debuted in WWE in 2004. He was portrayed as an Arab-American who was tired of the prejudice and stereotyping he and his community faced in a post-9/11 America. The character was complex and effective; his grievances were legitimate and often sympathetic, but he delivered his message with the arrogance of a classic heel, which generated incredible heat from the live crowds. He remained undefeated for months and was placed in high-profile programs with legends like Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, and The Undertaker. He was widely believed to be on a fast track to winning the World Heavyweight Championship. More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match The Storyline That Ended a WWE Career Hassan's promising career came to an abrupt and tragic end in July 2005 due to a case of horrific, real-world timing. On an episode of SmackDown, a pre-taped segment aired that showed Hassan "praying" on the entrance ramp before a group of masked men attacked The Undertaker on his behalf. The same day that the taped segment aired, the tragic London bombings, a series of terrorist attacks, occurred. The unfortunate visual parallels between the storyline and the real-world tragedy led to a massive public and media backlash. The television network UPN pressured WWE to remove the character from its programming immediately, and Hassan's career as a top-tier star was over in an instant. After leaving the business, Mark Copani went on to have a successful career as a high school principal. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.

Rhea Ripley Takes Aim at WWE SummerSlam After Heartbreaking Loss

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Following another loss at SummerSlam, WWE superstar Rhea Ripley has taken to social media to express her frustration with the event. Her defeat in the Women's World Championship match this past weekend dropped her career record at the premium live event to a surprising 0-3. "The Nightmare," who is typically one of the most dominant forces in all of WWE, has seemingly found her kryptonite. The Biggest Party of the Summer has not been kind to her. Rhea Ripley: "I Think I Hate SummerSlam" In a short but direct social media post on Monday morning, Rhea Ripley summed up her feelings about her repeated failures at the major event. The post came less than 24 hours after her latest defeat on the SummerSlam stage. "I think I hate SummerSlam..." she wrote on her X account. The post perfectly encapsulates the frustration of a top star who has been unable to secure a victory at one of the biggest shows of the year. A Frustrating WWE SummerSlam Record Rhea Ripley's "SummerSlam Curse" is a fascinating statistical anomaly in an otherwise dominant career. Her first loss at the event came in 2021, where she was unsuccessful in a triple threat match for the Raw Women's Championship against champion Nikki A.S.H. and the eventual winner, Charlotte Flair. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - APRIL 20: Rhea Ripley is introduced before the Women's World Championship title match against Iyo Sky and Bianca Belair during WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium on April 20, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. MoreAt SummerSlam 2024, she suffered her most heartbreaking loss. She lost the WWE Women's World Championship to Liv Morgan after her Judgment Day stablemate, Dominik Mysterio, shockingly betrayed her. This past Sunday at SummerSlam 2025, she once again came up short, failing to capture the Women's World Title in a triple threat match against IYO SKY and the defending champion, Naomi. A Glaring Anomaly For Rhea Ripley Ripley's 0-3 record at SummerSlam is a shocking statistic when compared to the rest of her incredible career. She is a Women's Grand Slam Champion, having held the NXT UK, NXT, Women's World, and Women's Tag Team Championships. Her 380-day reign as Women's World Champion in 2023-2024 was one of the most dominant title reigns of the modern era. As the powerhouse of The Judgment Day, she has been one of the most protected and feared superstars on the entire WWE roster. However, for three years running, she has been unable to get her hand raised at SummerSlam. Her public acknowledgment of this "curse" could become a compelling storyline for her as she looks to finally break the streak in the future.

In October, Hines posted a message about her mother-in-law, Ethel Kennedy, following her death at the age of 96. "It has been my great honor to have shared laughter and love with Ethel," the Bad Moms star said at the time. "Her charisma, wisdom and strength will live on with me in every memory of her." "Bobby and I spent many warm nights in Hyannis Port having dinner with her and hearing stories from her extraordinary life. She always made me laugh," Hines continued.
