Andie Chen admits 'traces of loss and loneliness' after 10th acting Star Awards defeat , Entertainment News
At the 30th edition of Star Awards held last night (July 6), the 39-year-old was one of five nominees for Best Actor, for his role in the Mediacorp drama Born to Shine.
However, he lost to Christopher Lee, who won for his performance in the crime series Kill Sera Sera. The 53-year-old also brought home two other awards - Best Programme Host and the Special Achievement Award.
Earlier today, Andie took to Instagram to reflect: "The ceremony ended and the music started. I sat in the audience, watching the liveliness on stage - no matter how strong the heart is, traces of loss and loneliness will still flow out in that moment.
"But I didn't lose heart. Because all these years, I've had my family, team, friends and all of you who have supported me. Every time you speak up for me, it motivates me to keep working hard. Thank you everyone.
"Setting aside my own little theatre, I really am happy to see my friends win awards. Who's not working hard for their dreams?
"Finally, to my super handsome and capable idol Christopher Lee, I'm fully convinced losing to you. Thank you for letting me see my goal. I believe that one day, I will stand beside you and we'll create amazing stories together."

In live footage captured during the awards ceremony, moments after veteran Hong Kong star Chow Yun Fat announced Christopher's win, the camera panned to Andie in the audience. He was comforted by local actress Ya Hui, who clutched his shoulder and spoke to him, to which he responded with a nod and smile while clapping for the winner.
The two belong to the 2007 batch of Star Search, where Andie was crowned champion and Ya Hui a runner-up.
Others also consoled Andie, with veteran actor Chen Hanwei dedicating an Instagram post to him today.
In a picture where the two walked together backstage in their red-carpet outfits, the 55-year-old wrote: "It's not that you're bad, you're very good. Just down on a little bit of luck, Andie.
"Don't be discouraged, keep up your attitude and positive energy, because your attitude is your best feng shui. Keep working hard, and one day there'll definitely be a piece of the sky for you. Believe in yourself.
"Of course, I still have to congratulate Christopher Lee, it was well-deserved." View this post on Instagram

Jennifer Aniston reportedly dating hypnotist, Entertainment News
Jennifer Aniston is reportedly dating Jim Curtis. The Morning Show actress - who hasn't publicly romanced anyone since her 2017 split from husband Justin Theroux - is said to be "really into" the 49-year-old hypnotist after being set up by "mutual friends". A source told Us Weekly magazine: "They are being super private but have been spending a lot of time together. They are happy and really into each other." The couple are said to have "started off as friends but really hit it off" over time. The source added: "They've been hanging out a lot, but very much on the DL at her home in LA. It's very Zen, and she has always been very much into that. They're a good match." Jennifer, 56, and Jim were pictured together last weekend while on vacation in Mallorca, Spain, with the former Friends star's close friend Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka. Although the pair have kept their romance out of the spotlight until now, they have been supporting one another on social media. Jennifer has liked most of the life coach's Instagram posts over the last few months, including a video posted last week about recovering from a "divorce, break-up or difficult romance", and Jim liked her 25 May photo dump, which included a copy of his 2024 book Shift: Quantum Manifestation Guide. Jennifer recently expressed her desire to perform in a Broadway show. She told People magazine: "I definitely want to do a Broadway play. That's on my bucket list, but it's finding the time and finding the right piece, the right material. "But I absolutely have to do a play on Broadway." Jennifer is one of the biggest names in Hollywood, but she previously confessed to being terrible at auditions because she struggles to find immediate chemistry with a stranger. Appearing on The Hollywood Reporter's Drama Actress Roundtable - which also featured Nicole Kidman, Jodie Foster, Sofia Vergara, Brie Larson, Naomi Watts and Anna Sawai - Jennifer said: "When you're in an audition room, you're already at a disadvantage. Maybe you'd have chemistry with this person if you were in a different environment, and not, like, 'Create chemistry. Ready? Go!' "And I'm a terrible auditioner, always was. I waitressed forever before I could finally get something, which was a Bob's Big Boy commercial." Jennifer also insisted that she would never get intimate with an actor during a chemistry test. [[nid:717172]] The movie star said: "I haven't been told you're going to have to lay down and [get intimate with an actor for a chemistry test], and if asked, I would never."

The 27-year-old actress had a brief romance with 33-year-old singer/ songwriter Puth in 2016, which ended with him claiming she had been two-timing him and her ex-boyfriend Tyler Posey. Bella later posted on X: "Ty and I have been broken up for like over two weeks and charlie and I arent dating, are friends. Basically, Ty and I stopped dating and Charlie had been tweeting about me for a while. He was trying to reach out to me. "I hung out with him twice. We went to the movies. He was cool. I was like, 'Wow, you're really talented. Holy s***. You're f****** great, dude.' And then he invited me to Jingle Ball to watch him perform. [[nid:701886]] "Charlie saw an old news article, and he didn't look at the date, and the date is old, and it's about me and Ty. … when he read it, not reading the date, it sounded like it was about me and Ty still being together. He didn't even text me or talk to me about it."

How Did Aldo Miranda Die? Social Media Star Found Dead in His Home Hours After Posting Cryptic Message as Cops Probe Motive
Mexican influencer Aldo Miranda was found dead in his home on Tuesday, hours after sharing a cryptic message on social media. The 32-year-old content creator, known for posting humorous content, was found unresponsive near a window in his home in La Paz, a city in the Pacific coastal state of Baja California. Miranda—who had amassed over 10 million followers on TikTok—posted a message in all capital letters on his Instagram Stories that read, "Thanks you all for everything," before taking his own life. Police entered Miranda's second-floor apartment around 2:21 p.m. local time, where they found a cable around his neck, hanging out of one of the windows. Unexpected Death Authorities in Baja California are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident but have not yet provided a motive for his death. On Wednesday, Miranda's management agency, Albe Group—founded by fellow influencer Mario Aguilar—issued a heartbreaking statement mourning his sudden passing. "Today I find it hard to write this... Aldo Miranda was one of those people that life gave me thanks to social media, but over time, it became a true friendship, one that feels genuine, close, and valuable," Aguilar wrote. "Meeting him was incredible. He had a talent that captivated, moved, and inspired. He was also one of the first people to believe in me when I told him about Albe Group," he added. "Without thinking twice, he showed me his unconditional support, and that's how we began working together. But beyond work, a friendship was born that I will always cherish." Struggling With Personal Problems Aguilar noted that Miranda had been struggling with personal issues, which may have led him to take his own life. "Today, he leaves us with news that breaks our hearts. Sometimes internal battles are silent, and we don't get to see everything someone carries inside," Aguilar said. "Aldo decided to leave before his time, and although it hurts deeply, I want to remember him with the love, light, and joy he left in us. We will miss you as much as you can't imagine." Miranda's final social media update was on July 3, when he shared a short video on Instagram—where he had over 486,000 followers—encouraging his fans to join him on Temu as sellers. Before becoming a social media star, Miranda had worked as a teacher under the Baja California Ministry of Public Education. News of his death deeply impacted his fan community, sending shockwaves among his followers. "Today my heart was crushed," influencer Carol Funes wrote. "Rest in peace, Aldo." "Today, the soul of a creator was silently turned off. Not all cries are for help; sometimes they're just for peace," one of his followers, Itzel Uriarte, wrote. "Depression isn't visible, but it weighs heavily. If you're reading this, stay. There's light after the storm. Rest in peace, Aldo."
