He was well loved within the music scene during the 1970s, as part of the blues band Mungo Jerry.
And today it has been announced that Tulisa will be taking a step back from her work commitments to grieve the huge loss.
The singer was set to perform at The Grand Clapham to celebrate Pride on Saturday - but understandably won't be taking part now.
The venue told fans on their official X account, writing: "Pride update. We are sorry to announce that due to a family bereavement, Tulisa will understandably no longer be joining us for our Pride After Party on Saturday."
They added: "We are sending Tulisa & her family all of our love. We'll be announce a new special guest later today, keep an eye out!"
On Tuesday, Tulisa took to her Instagram page to post an emotional tribute.
She shared a childhood image showing her snuggling with her dad and the words: "Love you pops, rest in peace.
"Forever my father's daughter."
Heartbroken rapper Dappy, who was in N-Dubz with his cousin Tulisa, also shared the sad news as he posted a video of himself with his uncle, alongside a white dove.
I'm A Celeb star Tulisa commented on the post with a broken heart emoji and Dappy replied: 'I'm so sorry T.'
N-Dubz star Dappy posts video with Tulisa's dad - his uncle Plato
Speaking last year about her father, she said on Paul Brunson's podcast We Need To Talk: 'Me and my dad's relationship has not been a conventional one.
"I would say me and my dad now we're just more friends that kind of have an understanding of one another."
Plato's band Mungo Jerry gained massive success after landing the Number 1 hit In The Summertime in 1970.
Other hits from the band include Lady Rose and Alright, Alright, Alright.
Plato played the keyboard alongside his brother Byron - who is Tulisa's uncle and Dappy's father - who was on bass guitar.
Tragically Byron died in the early days of N-Dubz in 2007.
The pair were reportedly in the band during its early days.
Speaking about her dad's influence on her career, Tulisa said: "My dad had a little studio in Dollis Hill and he used to bring me there sometimes when he was working.
"He put me on the mic at the age of five. I was singing Little Mermaid.
"I just knew there was nothing else I felt passionate about."
The star has told in the past how her dad left her mum, Anne Byrne, when she was nine years old.
Tulisa became her mum's primary carer at the tender age of 11.

Celeste Barber breaks silence on shock 'Photoshop' scandal after appearing on glossy magazine cover: 'It's gonna piss some of you off'

Celeste Barber has responded to critics after she was widely slammed for her appearance on the cover of the upcoming September issue of Marie Claire. The comedian, 43, who is best known for poking fun at over-produced photos and videos often posted by beautiful models, has been accused of becoming 'what she mocked' by posing for the 'heavily photoshopped' cover shoot on her feed. However on Thursday, Celeste defiantly returned to Instagram to push back at her naysayers - insisting that her image wasn't photoshopped. 'Hi, I need to tell you all something about this photo shoot, and it's going to piss some of you off. It's not photoshopped! I just look that f**king good! I know!' Celeste said. 'You guys are so used to me showing you what I look like as a slapped arse. This is me as well! Guys, I just look this good,' she continued. Celeste went on to praise the creative team for transforming her into a covergirl. 'It's hard - I just look this good when there's 15 kilos of hair put on my head and then Koh [hairstylist] has to snatch my face up to give me a bit of a Kris Jenner lift to hold the wig in place,' she said. She went on to praise her makeup artist who painted her face 'like an absolute wizard,' adding: 'I have a feeling, I think they actually shipped lighting in for this, because sister needs a bit of help.' Celeste then credited her photographer for his 'amazing angles with the camera', before reiterating: 'This is just how I look. I'm so sorry, but I look f**king great.' The cover, which she shared to Instagram on Wednesday, saw Celeste attempting to stay true to her roots as she parodied singer Jennifer Lopez 's infamous 2000 Grammys green dress. However, some followers were left outraged to see how much Photoshop was used to give Celeste a flawless, almost unrecognisable visage in the image. 'How can you allow so much Photoshop when all you sell is authenticity?' one person wrote to the comedian. 'So photoshopped. What's a shame,' another added, as a third penned: 'Ah the irony.' 'Did they not know you were beautiful before? Isn't the whole point of the entire bit that you laugh in the face of the celebrity airbrush culture?' said someone else. 'And she became what she mocked,' one user commented. Others decided to turn the blame on Marie Claire. 'The amount of editing your photography team has done to Celeste goes against everything she stands for,' one outraged follower said. 'Heavily photoshopped Celeste Barber is sacrilege,' another agreed. Someone else stood up for Celeste, saying the media personality had every right to pose for a glamour shoot because she was 'making an impact' on the world. 'To connect with the regular normal day to day person is her shtick,' they added. 'If you don't understand that and solely judge from this picture then you don't know anything about her nor Marie Claire nor what it is to be a woman standing for other women!' Celeste is known for mocking models and celebrities for their over-the-top glamour shots and saucy videos flaunting their trim figures. Celeste was accused of becoming 'what she mocked' after she posed for the glamour shoot and shared it to Instagram In April, she left locals appalled with her latest stunt in Paris when she strolled the streets of the French capital in nothing but her undies. In footage shared to Instagram, she pranced around in her skimpy smalls sipping a coffee, mocking similar footage filmed by a young model in Italy. However, onlookers appeared less thrilled at her brazen display, with some pointing in disgust at her wild sideshow. The social media star captioned the footage with some amusing words. 'It's important to blend in when travelling,' she wrote.

Stranger Things actor Millie Bobby Brown adopts ‘sweet baby girl'

The Stranger Things actor Millie Bobby Brown and her husband, Jake Bongiovi, have announced they have become parents after adopting a 'sweet baby girl'. Brown, 21, and Bongiovi, 23, said in a statement on social media that they were 'beyond excited' to enter the next chapter of their lives. Alongside a sketch of a tree, the couple wrote on Instagram on Thursday: 'This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.' The post, which was accompanied by the Beatles song Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, continued: 'And then there were 3.' Brown, best known for her role as Eleven in the Netflix drama Stranger Things, and Bongiovi, a model who is the son of the musician Jon Bon Jovi, married last October after their engagement in 2023. Alongside photos from their wedding last year, Bongiovi wrote in a post at the time: 'Forever and always, your husband.' Brown has previously spoken about wanting to become a parent, adding that she wanted a large family with her husband. She mentioned the possibility of adopting. Speaking in March on the SmartLess podcast, hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, the actor said: 'Jake knows how important it is to me [to have a child].' Brown, who recently appeared alongside Chris Pratt in sci-fi film The Electric State, added: 'Of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it's so important to start a family, for me, personally.' In 2023, the publication of Brown's debut novel reignited a debate over ghostwritten celebrity books. Nineteen Steps, inspired by her grandmother's experience of the 1943 Bethnal Green tube disaster, was ghostwritten by author Kathleen McGurl yet the cover of the book featured only Brown's name. In response to a subsequently deleted tweet by Waterstones promoting the book, many X users had criticised the star. Brown had posted an image on Instagram of herself holding the book standing next to McGurl, with the caption: 'I couldn't have done this without you!' Zoella (the media personality Zoë Sugg), Katie Price and Naomi Campbell are among celebrities who have also used ghostwriters for their fiction books.

Inside Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi's marriage as they announce adoption

Millie Bobby Brown shocked fans with the announcement that she and husband Jake Bongiovi have adopted a baby girl. The Stranger Things star, 21, shared the news in a joint post on social media with her husband Jake, 23. 'This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption,' she began. 'We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.' She concluded: 'And then there were 3. Love Millie and Jake Bongiovi.' Millie and Jake – the son of rocker Jon Bon Jovi – tied the knot last May, a year after their engagement. Now, as they start their family, here's everything we know about the young couple's whirlwind relationship. The pair first sparked romance rumors in June 2021 when Bongiovi posted a photo of the two on Instagram, writing, 'bff <3.' They were spotted walking around New York City hand-in-hand later that month before making things Instagram official in November with a blurry photo taken on the London Eye. After that, they were pretty inseparable and Jake has even joined Millie at several high-profile red carpet events, including the Baftas, Stranger Things season 4 launch party, and the premiere of Enola Holmes 2 in October. During a November 2022 interview with WIRED, the actress shared how she met her man. 'We met on Instagram,' she said. 'And we were friends for a bit, and then, what can I say?' The pair got engaged in April 2023 with Millie announcing the news by posting a photo on Instagram captioned with lyrics from Taylor Swift's Lover, writing, 'I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all 🤍.' In August 2023, Brown shared the details of the proposal with The Sunday Times, including that he proposed with one of her mother's rings: 'I've always loved that ring, it's always stuck out to me, so she gave it to Jake. They were in cahoots about the whole proposal,' she said. 'I love that I can always keep a piece of my mum with me.' The pair then privately tied the knot in 2024 at a ceremony that was reportedly a small affair with only friends and family in attendance. 'Millie and Jake quietly said their vows in America last weekend,' a source close to the couple told The Sun. 'They are planning a bigger ceremony in the US later this year but now they have legally married and done all the paperwork.' After the pair's marriage was rumoured, Jon Bon Jovi was asked about the suspected nuptials and how the happy couple is doing. 'It was a very small family wedding and the bride looked gorgeous, and Jake is happy as can be. Yeah, it's true.' When the engagement was first announced, Millie shared with WWD: 'I think probably drawing the curtains, just because there are only so many moments in life that you get only once. 'And to have everyone's opinions and eyes looking at that just feels unnatural to me. So I feel it's important to keep those things, those small precious moments in life, really close to your chest.' Millie has been very open about her desire to be a mother in the past. More Trending During a March 2025 appearance on the Smartless podcast, Millie shared that although she is 'really young,' starting a family is 'definitely in [her] future.' 'My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19. And you know, it's been my thing since before I met Jake,' she said. 'Since I was a baby, I told my mom, like, baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me.' She added, 'Jake knows how important it is to me and, of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it's so important to start a family for me, personally.'
