
Collector exhorts youth to display patriotism
Speaking at the event, the collector highlighted that the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' programme is a brainchild of the Prime Minister and a patriotic initiative that everyone should embrace. She expressed pride that the designer of the national flag, Pingali Venkayya, hailed from the state of Andhra Pradesh. Nagarani also encouraged citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes, offices, and public spaces from August 13 to 15 to demonstrate national unity.
Principal Dr KV Muralikrishnam Raju also addressed the students, urging them to contribute to the country's progress and uphold its integrity and unity. He stressed that by doing so, they would be showcasing their patriotism. Prior to the rally, a meeting was held in the college's main auditorium where dance performances by students from various schools, cantered on the theme of patriotism, were highly appreciated by the audience.
District Revenue Officer Mogili Venkateswarlu, Bhimavaram RDO K Praveen Kumar Reddy, DEO E Narayana, Bhimavaram Municipal Commissioner K Ramachandra Reddy, District Tourism Officer Apparao, and a large number of students also attended.

Stay away from drugs, join nation-building, youth exhorted
Chittoor: Chittoor District Collector Sumit Kumar has called upon the youth to steer clear of narcotics and addictive substances, stressing that they pose grave risks to both physical and mental health. As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the Collector, along with Chittoor MLA Gurajala Jagan Mohan, flagged off the Har Ghar Tiranga rally in Chittoor on Wednesday. The rally commenced at Gandhi Junction, passed through MSR Circle to Nagaiah Kalakshetram, and returned to the Gandhi Statue Junction. Over 2,000 students, waving the tricolour, participated in the event, showcasing their patriotic spirit. Collector Sumit Kumar highlighted that, as envisioned by the Prime Minister and the State government, Independence Day festivities will be held for two weeks at village, district, State, and national levels. He urged citizens to not only wave the national flag but also demonstrate patriotism by keeping surroundings clean and actively participating in the nation's development. As part of the upcoming 79th Independence Day celebrations on August 15, Health Minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav will hoist the national flag at the district headquarters. The Collector also noted that the Central government, through the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, is conducting awareness programmes to curb drug abuse, which he described as a growing menace in society. He called on parents to monitor their children's behaviour closely and urged the public to report any information related to drug trafficking, sale, or consumption to the authorities. MLA Gurajala Jagan Mohan reiterated the need for responsible citizenship to ensure the tricolour flies high with pride. He vowed to work with the Collector and the SP to make the city a 'Drug-Free Chittoor' and appealed to the public to support this mission. He also announced that on August 15, the Chief Minister will launch the Sri Shakti scheme, offering free bus travel for women, and encouraged them to make full use of this facility. The event saw participation from City Mayor S Amuda, Additional SP Rajasekhar, DEO Varalakshmi, and several other officials.

Nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga' celebrations gaining momentum, says BJP
Hyderabad: Telangana BJP state unit, in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call, the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' program is being celebrated across India with patriotic fervor to mark the 79th Independence Day. The initiative, aimed at fostering national unity and pride, is being organized in a coordinated manner by the Government of India and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including extensive participation in Telangana. Addressing the media on Wednesday, party state vice-president Gangidi Manohar Reddy highlighted the scale and spirit of the celebrations. He noted that for the past three days, Tiranga rallies and flag-hoisting events have been held across the country, with enthusiastic participation from school and college students, youth, and citizens. 'The Prime Minister has called upon every Indian to hoist the national flag on their homes on August 14 and 15, symbolizing unity and patriotism,' Reddy said. He emphasized that the national flag evokes emotion and solidarity among all citizens, transcending caste, religion, region, and age. Referring to recent national security developments, Reddy praised the swift response of the Indian Army in Pahalgam, where terrorists were neutralized following an attack on civilians. He said the successful completion of Operation Sindhur has further galvanized public sentiment and strengthened patriotic resolve. In Telangana, the BJP has set a target of hoisting the national flag on 40 lakh homes. Reddy urged citizens to participate actively in the campaign and join the Tiranga Rally scheduled at Necklace Road on August 14 at 10 a.m. The rally will be led by BJP Telangana State President Ramchandra Rao, Legislative Council members AVN Reddy and Malka Komuraiah, along with party leaders, activists, students, and college representatives. 'We appeal to every citizen of the twin cities to take part in the rally and celebrate the spirit of Independence Day,' he said. BJP leaders Rani Rudrama and BJYM State President Sevella Mahender were present.

Har Ghar Tiranga rally organised
Ongole: A patriotic rally was organised by the BJP as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign here on Wednesday. The rally began at Lawyer Pet with floral tributes to Sri Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu's statue and proceeded along Mangamuru Road to Mangamuru Road Junction. Addressing the gathering, BJP District President Seggem Srinivasa Rao emphasised the need to remember freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India's Independence. He urged every citizen to develop respect, love, pride, and responsibility toward the nation, taking inspiration from the lives of freedom fighters.
